I bought a really nice used chair recliner in two parts. When I went to put the back on only one side slipped in and I couldn't get it to unlatch so I could do it right. Your video took the guesswork out of it and I was able to install it properly- Thank you so much for this instructive video. 77 year old grandma ( lol)!
This video helped me a lot. I got this chair brand new from American Furniture and within A couple of years it started to fall apart so I opened the back and could see that one of the bolts had come loose so I took several wrenches to see if I could tighten it up, that didn't work so I tried hex keys and that didn't work, so I was really in a stump. Then I saw this video and it showed me how to remove the back and it was easy sailing from there, I also discovered that all the screws were coming out, so I tightened them all, thanks again.
thank you for this! my wife has been asking me to move our giant reclining sofa to a different room through a narrow door way. i didn't think it was doable until i saw your video!
Thank you so much for the video on removing the back of recliner! I have to return a recent purchase, disassemble and pack in box. (NOT your product) I am an older lady. The tip on pushing it over and using the rubber mallet absolutely saved the day! I could do it easily. I so appreciate your help!
You just saved me a minimum $165 repair charge! The Bolts on one of the KD brackets on the back of my sofa recliner worked themselves loose from the wood frame over time. Knowing how to take the back off helped me get a better look at the problem and both bolts were just sitting near the bottom of the seat. I reattached the bolts and slipped the bracket back on the ears and voila! Good as new! Thank you!
I am so happy I came across this video. I don’t know how long I tried to remove the back of the chair and couldn’t figure out how to release the mechanism. Very well explained!! Thank you so very much. God bless!!
I wish I had seen this before I had to figure it out on my own. Costco should include a link to this video for every power recliner they sell. This is the knowledge that would stop negative reviews.
Yo my man, thank you so much for posting this. The delivery guys assembled my recliner chair and recliner sofa and the was fine, but now I'm moving and had no idea how to disassemble. Very, very, very helpful. Thank you bro.
Thanks so much for your right to the point solution of how to assemble & disassemble the recliner. You saved me about $400.00. All the best to you and yours. Signed - a very grateful “all thumbs” person when it comes to wrenches & screw drivers.
thank you for this video. it took me less than 5 minutes to take my chair apart and out the door after this video. i could see just what i needed to do.
Wow Finally a video with close up shots , thorough explanation, done slowly . I struggled through several to know avail. After watching this, I had the back off in 2 minutes. Thank You!
Thank you. The vendor of our recliner that we purchased at Kirkland sent us the link to this video to help with our problem. This helped a lot! We had put the back onto the base and it clicked on one side but not on the other. Then we couldn't detach the one side that clicked to be able to try again and/or return the recliner. From this video, I was able to figure out where to insert the screwdriver to be able to detach. Tried to put it back together and get it to click on both sides but it still wouldn't. Disassembled again and figured out that the clicking part was slightly rotated and not aligned. Turned it be aligned and re-assembled and both sides clicked! I think your video could've added that part to help me with the 2nd half of the problem, but in any case, we've got it resolved now and (probably) won't be returning the recliner. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video. The bolts on one of the mounting brackets for my mom's chair came loose, and this helped me figure out how to take off the back to tighten them back into place. She's quite happy to be able to sit in it again.
I remember commenting to the delivery guys years ago, when they slid it together, it was so easy and he said it came apart just as easy but I could not remember that part at all. I think my wood is split out, so I'm in for a little more work to rebuild it, but getting it apart is the first step. Thanks for a great video!
Omg!! Thank you I was so stressed out about this.. my bf and I broke up and he was the only person who assembled my chair and sofa. Fudge him!! Lol thank God I watched this video... Moving to a new place moving on with my life 💪🏼🙏🏼🤗🤗🤗💅

Thank you so much! My chair had been sitting in my family room the last week and I got one side out and not the other😞. I flipped it over as you did in the video, put the screwdriver 🪛 in and in came right apart!!!
Tried to get my wife's mothers recliner through the living room door frame. Too big. Visited You Tube and selected your video. Thanks. Will be able to move it to another room tomorrow.
Great clarity with “how to”! My recliner/ lift chair has a different style KD bracket. It is sandwiched in where I can not clearly see it. Do you know of any resources for different style KD brackets?
