I did barbell training for years, and it did not help my skiing performance. It helped keep my legs from snapping, but it didn't help me ski better. I switched to boxing training and a variety of rotational kettlebell exercises, and there was a huge difference. Then I added more of this sport specific training like you're talking about, and that was the perfect mix for me (as a recreational skier).
This is the most niche request of niche requests, but it'd be interesting to hear advice on strength training for cross country skiers. Here in the nordics it's a popular sport but there's unfortunately very little training info out there outside of the clubs themselves.
I am happy that you mention injury risks and training to avoid them. I am a recreational skier and I tore my ACL last year and got a surgery 8 months back. I wish it was emphasised more among people who ski just for fun because most people don't focus on that kind of training
In the board sports video, u mentioned eccentric strength. Wouldn't that apply to skiing as well? How do u train it? Something like tempo front squats?
Skiing and snowboarding should be totally different training. Snowboarding is mostly Sagittal plane trunk control whereas skiing is mostly Frontal plane.

I can agree it's definitely an unusual request, yet, valuable information regardless

Squats with roughly 30-60% more weight on one side so u can learn to use that one leg more when you are cutting turns on the mountain
