I have 2 Peterbilt 579 trucks, 2015 & 2016 which both had the same issue…AT THE SAME TIME!! We changed all you had changed to them but was still giving us the check engine light and the derrate message. The last thing we had to changed on both trucks was the DEF Quality Sensor. That fixed the issues the trucks was giving us related to the aftertreament system. However, it was a bit hard to find this sensor due to its availability. Once we found it, it cost me less than $200 at the Peterbilt shop. If you haven’t done so, try to get it changed as well. It might help with your truck issues and codes. Good luck! Change the Def injector too if you have the done so.
Dude my company got charged 31k for a new dpf and doc. Just replaced engine harness. Pulled hill on 70 in Maryland going into PA and threw a wrench and an engine light. My company loves wasting money
I have a 2015 peterbilt 579 with a paccar in it. What happened to me right when I got it was the same lights you have all came on and then shut down the engine. They reason was one of the relays in the engine compartment. Replaced it and everything worked fine until I got a truck wash and a few days later all the lights came on again and turned out that water got into the fuse panel and caused corrosion. Had to replace the whole fuse panel. Have your technician check yours. Another thing to check is, when you pull out the nox sensor from the dpf housing, look into that hole, there should be a bunch of small holes. If they are all clogged up, clean them out. Clean the sensor with some seafood. Another thing to check is the egr ports, they get full of soot.
My 2012 Pete paccar is acting fishy!! 😂 dang needed this after the rabbit hole of info! First night as an owner op, ..and I’m finding out the hard way!
I had an issue with DEF system, they replaced everything on it except the one box, and what happened was they had replaced the DEF filter (not the the big filters) the DEF fuel filter and it was a bad new filter. So they replaced it again and everything was good. But that is an issue with the DEF system mechanics don’t know much about them.
@@highbeamstrucking236 do you have part number to all the harnesses. I'm having the same issue. I replaced one harness, but I probably need to replace them all

@@whitaker2062 it was an electrical problem. I have replaced all DPF/DEF harness's and problem solved. If you aren't getting a brand new one GET IT CHECKED at the dealership, great truck/engine/trans when you're not having def related issues.

@@sodbuster518ablebullshit. Our local freightliner and Kenworth dealer doesn’t give a shit that our trucks are deleted. They still work on it. The ford dealership local to us works on all of our deleted 6.7 powerstrokes.
I ended up replacing the 3 DPF harness's. 1600$, 900$, 200$ respectively. All the problems where electrical, so since that replaced not a single problem in the last couple months. Be aware that I've told the at the Peterbilt that i wanted to replace those harness's and they said that it was not necessary. 🤪 Good luck
I would recommend it to you to get rid of it that truck and get freightliners of Volvo so Mac other different trucks international is better than international or better than than Peterbilt in Kenworth and they are garbage they're no good

Yes i did, i had to replace the ALL DPF related harness's. There are 3 of them, because my problems were electrics.
