  • In this third Dr Paccar truck repair video I discuss the issue of failed 2016 to 2019 Kenworth DEF Quality sensors. Although I focus on Paccar power this also affects Kenworth Cummins power. I also discuss how to possibly prevent this failure by discussing the Kenworth Tech Bulletin called Additional Diagnostics for failed Urea Quality Sensor Root Cause.
    Also forgot to put on video the following Paccar codes are involved with this tech bulletin
    P3899, P3900, P3931, P3932, P3933, P3934, P3935
    #kenworth #paccar

    I just went through this for the replacement DEF sensor for my W800. Why isn’t PAC CAR being held accountable for this issue? I see a class action coming.

    It evidently isn’t just a paccar issue. I have the code for def tank level circuit failed high. It’s on my 2019 freightliner cascadia with Cummins x15

      Yeah. Cummins. Good motors. BAD EVERYTHING ELSE. Have you actually talked to them? A lot of them are smug assholes. I recently picked up a truck from a body installer. Hadn't even left the lot. He was telling me I was 'One of those guys.' if I had quit driving the second the light came on I'd be able to make it to the truck stop. LOL! I told him the scenario then he told me that because it was a new body on an old chassis I was 'f*****'. These guys LOL!

    Had the DEF Quality issue warning. First red def light then the flashing red. Will derate after about 30 minutes driving (goes to flashing red). Also will eventually derate to 5mph even if just idling (2-3hrs of idling).

    So Not to get anyone's panties in a bind.... I work at a sales company. The def quality sensors are a HUGE problem you all know that. Just to corroborate; We(I LOL) have been having to replace a lot of radiators in trucks. You know they are glass reinforced composite anyways. Freightliners end up having lots of problems with the 6.7 isx line. Leaking EGR coolers and there is a fitting halfway down the block on the passenger side that happens to be a turbo coolant return. It leaks a LOT. But only when the motor has completely cooled off. Funny right?. Anyways, overheating is a thing with these trucks.

    are you working somewhere i changed so many parts on the def system. I have a kenwort 2016 and if you work somewhere I would love to come this is frustrating and I don't have any more money for repairs ??

    • @Dakman
      @Dakman  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes I work for a Truck shop. 90% of the time when it comes to DEF code issues on a Kenworth it's rubbed or broken wires. The majority of the wire issues is on the left side of the cab firewall and under the left cab area

    Before you spend any money because it's not doing a region and high soot level replace the deferential pressure sensor by the DPF. Do not spend thousands of dollars on on DPF filter and shop labor the deferential pressure sensor is easy to replace you can do-it-yourself

    Fu*kkk! Im in Houston, and pretty much all Rush centers, KW performace and peterbilt dont have this sensor for atleast next 6-12 months, they're not even taking orders just because they have '100s of trucks all over the services shops and they are also waiting for this part and they need to be out of shops first before they can even began to place order for customers'.
    As an O/O im running out of options here, even considering doing the you know what..

    Just did job tri axel 2021 Pete with mx13 Paccar flat bed.
    Def tank read empty but full
    Limp mode 5mph.
    Got replacement level sensor 338 dollars put it in turned the key gauge read full light went out.
    Truck only had 26000 miles.
    I don't know why they made a different kind of sensor like this video has so stupid.

    Its funny how paccar makes this an updated bulletin but dont want to cover their dumb design engineering unless the truck is under warranty

    • @Dakman
      @Dakman  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Worse part is that it's not a Paccar design. The engine is actually made by a company called DAF in Germany. It's design was intended for a cab over. The only good thing about this engine is that it gets excellent fuel mileage
