2016 Peterbilt Paccar engine. DPF/DEF NON STOPPING PROBLEMS
มุมมอง 16K3 ปีที่แล้ว
5 months owning this truck Dpf filter, def doser, aftertreament harness, inlet nox sensor, def filter, and couple other things here and there. adding all up on the aftertreament part I'm going over 15K between parts and labor.
Having the same issues 🤬 Can you please sure what the problem was?
Dude my company got charged 31k for a new dpf and doc. Just replaced engine harness. Pulled hill on 70 in Maryland going into PA and threw a wrench and an engine light. My company loves wasting money
SELL IT! BUY A TRUCK WITH CAT 🐈 ENGINE INSTEAD! I SPENT $18,000 ON DEF AND LOST 6 MONTHS OF DRIVING BECAUSE PETERBILT SHOP = LAZY!
What was the problem did you get it fix ?
they can fix it but money is there God they can fix easily in NY and Nj
Probably a short
Should have definitely known better
These are a scam systems for sure....I'm glad my truck is older
I had an issue with DEF system, they replaced everything on it except the one box, and what happened was they had replaced the DEF filter (not the the big filters) the DEF fuel filter and it was a bad new filter. So they replaced it again and everything was good. But that is an issue with the DEF system mechanics don’t know much about them.
Clearing not gonna help
Going broke
After treatment is money pit
How you fix this problem bro same my truck just on DPF light
Do you have the part numbers to the other 2 wire harnesses and where are they located at on the truck

I spend over 40 k on same truck even put new engine as today what come on check engine light on 2.Stop red light.3. Stop Engine immediately. Don't Run Engine Or Damage Will Occur its been 2 yeas didn't make money Fuck how build son f bitch engineering all truck drivers we work day and night so hard losing all hard working money 💰 go to mechanic
Paccar is 12% owned by Blackwater which is part of the Bull shit Go Green deal that Biden,Communist China,Europe, and all the elite communist politicians and communist corporate America. They don’t give a rat’s ass about a trucker going bankrupt with their piece of crap DEF system failures. Best thing to do is get a scan reset tool from OTR PERFORMANCE. That way you can reset the faults and do a force regen and keep on keeping on .
I didn't see you fixed already sorry
Not a problem! Thank you for the comment. I could have saved couple thousand's if someone have told me that at the right time.
It's a wiring issue
You are right! I replaced all 3 harness's and problem solved
I would recommend it to you to get rid of it that truck and get freightliners of Volvo so Mac other different trucks international is better than international or better than than Peterbilt in Kenworth and they are garbage they're no good
Because the Peterbilt in Kingwood trucks which is a packer owner right now they are Pizza s*** it's nothing else but piece of s*** I prefer to buy Freightliner Volvo Mac other than Peterbilt Peterbilt it's not longer leader trucking heating in the United States they are piece of s*** I'm not going to purchase another Kenwood and Peterbilt no more the garbage they need to do something they need to do something they need to recall all this f****** Peterbilt or throw them away or shut down the company
I had the same problem they changed the yellow clips that holds the harness to the computer ecu as time they don’t hold the connection as well
Hey man would like to reach out to you on your 579 I have one as well and I’ve been having emissions problems. I want to see if you have resolved yours and what’s going on with it?
Yes, I've solved them all
@@highbeamstrucking236 What did you end having to replace?
@@highbeamstrucking236 please help me as I am now having the same lights on my 2016 579
@@AlanGarcia-zb7vg drop your #
I'm having the same problem can't find anyone to fix it
Babi shark
How you fix my truck only show check engine light plz let me know how i fix
Did you ever figure out what the problem was.
Yes i did, i had to replace the ALL DPF related harness's. There are 3 of them, because my problems were electrics.
@@highbeamstrucking236 do you have part number to all the harnesses. I'm having the same issue. I replaced one harness, but I probably need to replace them all
@@ewash53212 did you ever figure out your problem? I have a 2017 t680 and it started acting up.
Save yourself a lot of money, go online to otr performance, buy the tool. You’re welcome.
I've been watching all the otr videos I'm definitely going to pick up one which one do you have I'm going to pick up me 2016 Peterbilt 579 June definitely going to buy the OTR which one do you have
HI I got the same issue like you right now how did you solve your broblem.im by piterbilt dealer and they canot find the issue they have replace some parts alredy
Any updates on this?
I got 2022 got same problem 🤦♂️
If your warranties done you might as well delete it. I have 2 579's both deleted for over 2 years now with No issues.
What do you mean by delete?
Delete means your no longer welcome at any reputable repair shop or dealer and can't legally resell truck unless all epa system s put back in working order along with shop that did the delete subject to heavy fines and possible jail time.
You,ll have bigger problems when you can't legally resell truck and subject to heavy fines and possible jail time for whoever did the delete.
@@sodbuster518ablebullshit. Our local freightliner and Kenworth dealer doesn’t give a shit that our trucks are deleted. They still work on it. The ford dealership local to us works on all of our deleted 6.7 powerstrokes.
I use it and I just keep moving .. in all to hell with paccar
Check with koons trucking. He is on you tube.
What did you replace to fix the problem?
I ended up replacing the 3 DPF harness's. 1600$, 900$, 200$ respectively. All the problems where electrical, so since that replaced not a single problem in the last couple months. Be aware that I've told the at the Peterbilt that i wanted to replace those harness's and they said that it was not necessary. 🤪 Good luck
Just delete dpf too much headache
Nobody delete it for 2016 paccar
I’m having the same problem with my KW T680. Paccar is aware of the problem and refuses a recall to fix it.
If you have replaced some parts and you are still having the same problems, look for the 3 dpf harness's, that ended up being my problem
Hope you have the red oval warranty. I have 2 579 trucks and had to replace the def level sensor
I didn't have it. I had to pay for everything. It's fixed now and running as it's supposed to do. 🤞
@@highbeamstrucking236 what was it that got fixed I’m having the same problem again
@@highbeamstrucking236 So what did you get fixed and what was the main problem I'm picking up me a 2016 Peterbilt next month any suggestions
@@whitaker2062 it was an electrical problem. I have replaced all DPF/DEF harness's and problem solved. If you aren't getting a brand new one GET IT CHECKED at the dealership, great truck/engine/trans when you're not having def related issues.
I have 2 Peterbilt 579 trucks, 2015 & 2016 which both had the same issue…AT THE SAME TIME!! We changed all you had changed to them but was still giving us the check engine light and the derrate message. The last thing we had to changed on both trucks was the DEF Quality Sensor. That fixed the issues the trucks was giving us related to the aftertreament system. However, it was a bit hard to find this sensor due to its availability. Once we found it, it cost me less than $200 at the Peterbilt shop. If you haven’t done so, try to get it changed as well. It might help with your truck issues and codes. Good luck! Change the Def injector too if you have the done so.
I ended up replacing ALL,the aftertreament harness, there are 3 of them, 1800$, 850$, 200$. Truck it's running great now. Thanks for the advice.
@@highbeamstrucking236 that’s great to hear! I can imagine all you went through.
2015 do not have quality sensors in def tanks bud
@@highbeamstrucking236
@@highbeamstrucking236 do you remember the part numbers to those harness
What was the problem? I’m stuck in Shreveport Louisiana right now
Just delete the damn thing if it’s all about the after treatment
Don't know many places to get it deleted
You replaced everything but yr truck but you should
I have a 2015 peterbilt 579 with a paccar in it. What happened to me right when I got it was the same lights you have all came on and then shut down the engine. They reason was one of the relays in the engine compartment. Replaced it and everything worked fine until I got a truck wash and a few days later all the lights came on again and turned out that water got into the fuse panel and caused corrosion. Had to replace the whole fuse panel. Have your technician check yours. Another thing to check is, when you pull out the nox sensor from the dpf housing, look into that hole, there should be a bunch of small holes. If they are all clogged up, clean them out. Clean the sensor with some seafood. Another thing to check is the egr ports, they get full of soot.
What type of seafood would you suggest? Shrimp? Salmon? Some cockles perhaps?
My 2012 Pete paccar is acting fishy!! 😂 dang needed this after the rabbit hole of info! First night as an owner op, ..and I’m finding out the hard way!
How does the truck run ? Try unplugging the computer and plugging back in . Maybe a bad ground or Something
Sometimes runs like a beast, but as soon as the check engine light comes on loses a lot of power
Who the fuck cares why is this on my feed
And the point
After 5 months with the Dpf light and the check engine light both ON all the time, i need to celebrate!!😅😅
TURN ON THE LIGHTS
He/she means about DF lights and check engine lights
