I just discovered Monster Hunter World the board game a short time ago. I have been in love, and played like 35 hours. I wish I could get in on Primal but I'm guessing it will be cost prohibitive coming in at this point. Ah well...
What I've glanced at second hand is that primal prices are through the roof. I'm betting they come back with another printing and some more expansions. But as big as this box is, they're definitely going to raise the price from 3 years ago
Ugh. So much plastic porn. I was stoked for primal, but such a box that’s not even funny. And yeah those crowdfunding boxes have this tendency to arrive at the most inopportune of times. Just when you were into DU. Thanks for showing the product, I never realized the size it would be. And too many minis.
It really does seem super coincidental how you wait for years for kickstarters and then they appear on top of each other. I was thinking about how a basic set could be done for this. Because facing matters more than almost any other factor, I don't think a standee version like Oathsworn would be ideal. I think that one big, generic boss mini would be the way to go, and the box would then be the size of a normal game. And then they could get that version into normal stores and sell the miniatures as an expansion, even if only from their own site. But I'm a dreamer.
@@JAlanRykerGames Over the past 5 years this happened every single time. You haven't even unboxed the first and ding-dong another arrives. Even when fulfilment would be half a year apart. The first gets delayed, the latter happily shouts we're done early, and hop there we go again. Almost like there is just one ship cruising from china to fulfilment centers back and forth. I don't know how to solve primal size. Maybe a topdown image of the mini on a disk would work better, not a standee but something flat. I'll happily back primal 2 and not 1. Is the rulebook in serif, btw? Couldn't tell from your video.

If it had that, they could have gone with a steady flow of small expansions like Aeon's End or Marvel Champions. I could see people wanting to buy just one or two new monsters or heroes at a time. So you can play while the paint is drying for instance. oh and I did not back StS even though I did learn I will love the game - just don't need it right now.
