Awesome thank you, still hoping that you'll one day review Ultra Pro Mythic Edition products they look very nice just not sure about the quality 😁 thank you Professor
Completely off topic. Saw your video about the dragons egg bag. Do you still stand by it being the best on the market? Or is there a better option now?
For me it’s exciting even if I’m not going to buy any of these products because it shows where the industry is headed and what could be in store next time I’m looking for a storage product.
You never know! I thought the same a few years back and then I suddenly needed a box for my cube. I went back looking for a video of a Gamegenic product that I remembered having watched a few months ago, and avoided scouring the web for a product that would suit my needs
The only thing I've ever bought that he has actually recommended was the quiver. Only because I wanted to carry my 4 Yu-Gi-Oh decks and my one EDH. Not including sleeves cuz everyone just knows dragon Shields are King. But yeah well these products are amazing I'm never spending that much money on it. Which is kind of ironic when you think about how much money I spend on the actual cards themselves...
Not only does the Lair hold several commander decks, tokens, and dice, but also a twenty-four pack of Crayola crayons, slim coloring books, a deck of Go Fish and Old Maid, snacks, pull ups, wipes, juice boxes, and random Happy Meal toys. What basically was a travel gaming box is now a glorified diaper bag. IT SHOCKINGLY HOLDS UP!
The comment about how magnets working as some kind of miracle, is an incredible reference and one of the many reasons I love your watching your videos!!

One night ultimate werewolf, splendor, exploding kittens (and all its expansions), codenames, machi koro 2, love letter, sushi go, and coup and with there accessories and all sleeved. It's amazing! I have done the shake test and it never came open. Only problem I had is the top doesn't like to stay in the dice tray form sometimes
bought a cards lair 600 after seeing this review and gotta say, it’s been a game changer! I’m a pokémon club professor and so being able to store so many decks in an easy spot makes running club so much better! Plus trays for damage dice and markers!
Ah yes, "heavy duty", the precursor to "military grade" when it comes to price hiking. I love those gamegenic products. Wish I could afford them but they've been my favorites of the products you reviewed so far.
I bought a Watchtower for my main Commander deck because of a video that Prof did and I never looked back on that purchase. It's simply an amazing product that does the job well with style.

Your reviews usually goes thoroughly through everything I need to see. For making sure to make a purchase. Thank you for good and thorough reviews. Which many Magic the Gathering players with out a doubt appreciate :)
These reviews are always great! We got some of the Omnihives at work and I was planning to grab one for my various decks. I ended up being convinced by the Cards Lair instead for my purposes even though they're both great products. Time to order them up for the store and myself! As a gamer and someone who works at an LGS it's always great to have these reviews so we don't end up getting junk products.
This made me laugh out loud so many times. The professor has been on FIRE in the recent content releases and really making me fall in love with the channel. Thanks for this! Also taking a serious look at the gameslair.
When I look back at my nine years of watching gaming box reviews, I feel happy. I really, truly enjoy these videos and sweet deck boxes. Never buying a bad deck box, or any cute accessory has just been a delight. Thank you!
Thanks prof! I recently got a cube built and I used your reviews to inform me on what was best for me. Truely you have saved me so much time, money and frustration.
There's something nostalgic about a Prof review. Was re-watching one of the old videos and it blows me away how far this channel has come. Still a classic video!
Always love Ultimate Guard products, I have Boulders, a Sidewinder, an Arkhive, a Superhive and a Smarthive. The Onmihive looks awesome as well. But that Games Genic box! GODDAM!
I’m a little disappointed that Ultimate Guard is making the new Sidewinder, because it means that Boulders don’t fit super snug in the new Omnihive. That was one of the reason I really liked the boulders and Arkhive, they fit so well. Boulders aren’t terribly expensive (though they have gone up in price, but they also introduced more recycling friendly ones so that’s cool) but being able to put them into the Arkhive to carry multiple deckboxes snugly meant nothing was bashing around and it was a quality feel. Now, I may we all just get the Game Genic Dungeon, since it fits more deckboxes and can even fit toploaders.
I'm not even going to lie. I went a little crazy seeing that Gamegenic Games' Lair. That is the most awesome creation to ever grace the storage solution of all hobby games ever. Thank you Professor for your incredible reviews as always!
Hey Prof, I just wanted to say that over the last few years your channel has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. Every video (in my eyes at least) is high quality, and the variance between helping all of us out with figuring out what deck boxes/carriers are the best, to speaking up as a voice for the community, and everything in between, really makes me appreciate every video uniquely. I never thought I'd find myself getting excited about deck boxes and card carrying product reviews, but every second I enjoy immensely.
Cannot overstate how much I value your reviews. The thorough detail is often extremely useful and at worst neutral when not relevant for me. Your descriptions help me evaluate and make decisions on things I often can't view in person before buying. And as a bonus they're also entertaining, and with really solid production. There's irreverence and lightheartedness while always being very serious about key information. I don't always have something to say, so I struggle to feed the insatiable maw of youtube demanding engagement, but it's been a while since I said I appreciate these so here goes =)
Catching a glimpse of The Professor’s tattoo is the TCC equivalent of the magical moment when you’d catch a glimpse of Gary “Radar O’Reilly” Burghoff’s missing finger while watching MASH.
Your reviews never steer me wrong. Thanks for turning me towards Gamegenic binders, Satin Towers, Dragon Shield sleeves, and Aaron Cain deck boxes. Yes, I've seen quite a few of these episodes over the years lol.
The glee you had when you spun the card lair in the air made me happy I'm not the only one that gets that giddy when something outperforms what it's supposed to be made for
I feel like the prof's coverage for tabletop game accessories is the best coverage for *any* product in *any* category. I don't think other product reviewers leave as positive an impression on me as the prof does when he gives a good grade and gets passionate and excited about things. I've been following this channel for years and years and it made me so happy to see him break out in popularity and still going strong today. It shows me that this is a world where dedication to your passions and perseverence can and do pay off. Just felt like expressing that gratitude for that today.
These are my favorite videos you do, Prof. You do so many interesting deck techs, set/card reviews, pack openings, etc. but there is something so nostalgic about your product reviews. I get a large smile on my face whenever a new one drops! Keep up the good work, sir!
I just picked up the lair about a month ago for my Khans cube. I love it. Does the job perfectly, and looks very stylish. I use the draws to hold set tokens, dice, land. And I have Khans One Pager print outs that I store in the top compartment to introduce players. I would definitely recommend it to cube builders!
Gamegenic has definitely won my heart over the last year. When I found out you can fit Ultra Pro Alcove Deck Boxes in the Gamegenic Dungeon I was blown away. Their plastic deck boxes also feel solid for the price.
We use the plastic gamegenic boxes for our card Lot, we use the color code to keep all of them orgabized by color/type, really useful, and also keep the dust away.
just purchased 3 Dewalt DWST14825, 1-71-189 tool boxes and absolutely love them. Super Durable, easy to hold and the clip onto each other so you can carry multiple boxes with one hand. Each one will comfortably hold 10 100 card decks. 20 dollars a piece for them.
I love your testing videos; I don't even consider buying a card gaming product until I hear what you say about it. I love my Dragon Shield sleeves and my Satin Towers! Now I'm rewatching videos to figure out what deck boxes I should get for my expanding pauper collection, as I've been using the Dragon Shield boxes that their sleeves come in.
That’s an excellent showing here prof. Just ordered an Omni for my EDH nights with lots of decks that I can’t seem to leave at home.gonna give it a go!
I've gone for gamegenic boxes and a 4 pocket zip binder for my day to day in a backpack, really pleased with gamegenic products particularly the xl for my edh stuff. Really wish i could find a good backpack for it all, tough to find one for 5 boxes, a watchtower, a stronghold, a 4 pocket binder, a mat with case and a life tracker.
I have a Gamegenic CARDS’ LAIR 400+ CONVERTIBLE box after the professor did a video on that and gave it an A+. i love it a lot and it has lowered the amount of boxes that hold my dice and token cards. and now after seeing the Professor review the 600+ box I Think i might invest in that box next. Thank you Professor for showing me new things as always
Love my omnihive i just bought. I have 3 modern decks, 5 commander decks, (in boulders) and a dice bag with plenty of space left over. It event fits in the main pocket of my L.L. Bean highschool bag that holds all my mtg stuff and trade binders. Thanks professor for the review! Wanted to come back and let you know your why i bought it from my LGS
I remember when prof first reviewed ultimate guard and loved there magnets and there cases. The along came Game Genenic who I'm pretty sure watches all of profs videos and takes them as challenges. Oh you hate how much space deck boxes take up well here our flaps wrap around.
Omg 18:18 XD You're so funny! Professor, you are my favorite MTG content creator and I always get stoked seeing that you put out another review video. Your review of the previous Cards Lair is what got me to invest in my 600+ Cards Lair and it's my favorite accessory to date.
Thank you so much for being extremely picky in your reviews prof! It is extremely nice to know little things, like if certain items are a snug fit. Or if the item is over engineered, and can take abuse.
Prof just wanted to let you know that you showing your arm tats and nails in this video inspired me to start saving for the tattoos I've always wanted. Thanks for being you on camera, you've no idea how much it means to me.
It's always nice when Prof goes back to his roots once in a while. Although maybe not always fulfilling all his creative needs to make them, the audience appreciates his candor at fulfilling their information needs.
I picked up a Gamegenic Cards Lair after seeing this video and I'm very satisfied with it. I mainly play D&D these days instead of MtG but I like to print out magic items and monsters on cards for ease of play and the Cards Lair is great for holding everything I need. The side trays are perfect for dice and tokens and the whole thing really is as sturdy and high-quality as it looks in the video. I think the top section next to the card space could have been a bit larger and/or deeper, and the clear plastic insert in mine was very slightly knicked (but still works). I also wish it came in more colors. Don't get me wrong, I got the blue one and it looks great, but it would have been nice to have had the option of a green, yellow, or purple version. I'd give it a rating but I'm waiting to see how it holds up under a few months' wear and tear, but if it DOES hold up then it's an easy 9/10.
i haven't been excited about a deckbox review in a while. that gamegenic cards' lair 600+ looks great for me and my play group on dnd nights. the versatility of it should allow me to keep all of my dnd stuff (minis, pencils, notepad, dice) and my magic stuff (decks, tokens, counters) together and have a dice tray when needed. normally on dnd nights, we get a few games of commander in either before we ger started or after someone has to leave, and being able to hold everything other than character sheets in a well organized place sounds great
Glad to see you cover the omnihive. I need this for my commander decks and wanted to know how many actual deck boxes fit as I have many favorite different deck boxes. Take care prof!
Will certainly save up for a Game Genic Lair! I recently got into D&D and you sold me on the foldable lid that it comes with. Not only that, but I too am one of the many Commander players that likes to keep all of my Commander decks organized. Thank You Prof!
Prof does such an effective job at product reviews that it helps businesses learn what the consumer desires so they can develop better quality products to meet the needs of gamers. Thx Prof.
Your reviews are always so entertaining and helpful. The dice tray alone made me fall in love immediately with the Cards Lair. As an Arkham Horror LCG player, this case has tremendous possibilities.
Gamegenic really does an outstanding job with their boxes. I've been using the 400+ one for a while now. Only problem is I've built more EDH since and need another!
Whaaa? Who does that? That's more money to build the decks, then even more money to box those, then more for a box for the boxes! *sigh* Almost all of us do it.
I actually use just old deckbuilders' kits and fatpacks (fixed with tape) to store my decks, but I love watching these reviews! Maybe some day I'll buy one of these.
Thank you for doing up these reviews! Always something to look forward to over the weekend! Especially since I've caught Covid19, perusing through your past content and binging really helps keep me company through the isolation. Keep it up!
Just want to say, your reviews of GameGenic products got me to start buying them and they have been my favorite from then on to hold my cards. Great vid as always prof 👍
My Girlfriend got me the Games Lair 600 for my Birthday. The amount of times I have shown people how hard I can shake the whole box without anything happening is ridiculous lol. Thanks Babe❤
These look great! I just picked up a dragon shield magic carpet XL that I'm really happy with. I've started collecting and sleeving pokemon theme decks so I can do small random tourneys like they do at pokemon regional events at home. The magic carpet XL holds, I think 20 sleeved pokemon decks without boxes with dividers between. That's all but 5 sun/moon theme decks. :)
Shake it, baby! Lol, thanks for making these product reviews. I am constantly looking for more storage options for cards and it helps someone shows the experience of having one of these card storage boxes without me having to shell out lots of money to find out the hard way if it's worth it. 👍
I think ultimate guard listen to you Prof when you mention needing a deck box with the right amount of room. Defiantly is pretty cool overall. Thank you for the reviews as always.
Good to know about the larger sidewinders. Now that secret lair packaging has been reduced, I will eventually need replacement storage for my double-sleeved many-token commander decks.
I bought the gamegenics lair thing for Marvel Crisis Protocol. The minis are small enough that they fit in the big compartment and the multiple storage trays make organizing that game's token/dice/movement tools much, much simpler.
I haven't had any problems with the ultra pro. My needs were: - holds a lot of cheap plastic deck boxes - holds a couple playmats - has a carrying handle - is available for sale at my local game store ... and it met all those needs for me. I wouldn't put loose cards in it, but I wasn't *looking* for something to put loose cards in.
I get a miniature heart attack whenever I see the Professor shake a deckbox. I got a major heart attack when the cards fell out. Also did the Professor just reference the Insane Clown Posse?
The Professor doing informercials, I love the visual I get of that, hahaha "Do your card dividers just not stay put? is this something you struggle with on a daily basis? Well no more!!" haha
Had my collection of mtg cards for almost 5 years now, and two weeks ago, my roommate accidentally locked me outside in the middle of a winter storm. 5$ worth of cards I don't really use got ruined, but it could have been all of my cards. Inspired me to start looking into sleeves, deck boxes, and an upgrade from the 6$ slightly used makeup case from goodwill I was using to house all of my cards.
Thanks Proff, I'll be using the phrase "Batmans utility belt" as a good description for the Gamegenic box. Although I wouldn't recommend it for miniature carrying as the models would shift around far to much without additional padding.
Wish I could share pictures. I use the Boulder boxes, a sidewinder and a double deck ultimate guard flip N trey boxes. I use a brief case sized pelican case to carry all my decks. Also carries my dice and mats. I took it as carry on for my flight. The look on tsa face when she opened it to look inside 😂
I love my gamegenic lair 600+. Had it since early January and it fits perfectly in my bag with my trade binder. Holds my 6 commander decks, my assortment of dice and life counters i own and one full slot for token cards. A bit pricey but worth it!

That’s an excellent showing here prof. Just ordered an Omni for my EDH nights with lots of decks that I can’t seem to leave at home.gonna give it a go!
You have me convinced now. I was leaning on the fence about but now I'm definitely going to buy the Ultra Pro™ Heavy Duty Canvas bag
A fan of the wrap around latch. And of course the reach around latch
What if I told you that the designer at Ultimate Guard who made all my favorite products...left that company to go design things for Gamegenic?
@@TolarianCommunityCollege I'd not be surprised in the slightest. Everything I've seen from Gamegenic is top quality.
Omg 18:18 XD
You're so funny!
17:43 I felt your excitement through the screen! I realized I had the biggest grin and happiness that the shake worked out :D
Pushing the first product off of the table just SENT me. Instant subscription lol.
cheers, friend!
These are some of my favourite kind of videos on TH-cam! Always a good watch
You can just feel the rush he’s getting while he’s shaking that last box! Love the review prof!
I get more excited for these videos than set reviews! That shows how good these reviews are!
I loved his genuine surprise when the OmniHive didn’t come open. Seemed to really take him off guard lol. Great Video again Professor!
@@mountainghoti1671 And ultimately, more money to buy/rent a bigger place!
I actually use just old deckbuilders' kits and fatpacks (fixed with tape) to store my decks, but I love watching these reviews! Maybe some day I'll buy one of these.
The Games Lair is incredible. I use it for MTG, d&d, and 40k. It holds EVERYTHING
17:43 i just felt as happy as the prof for the prof, pure joy
I love Game Genic, they are pretty much the only brand of deck boxes I buy now
Thank you for doing up these reviews!
I’m waiting on my omnihive to be delivered. I held my breath during the shake test, but was pleasantly surprised! Thanks for the review, Professor!
I was just as shaken as the box afterward. That was intense.
The subtle slide off the table is it for me. Amazing work as always, Prof.
My needs were:
- holds a lot of cheap plastic deck boxes
- holds a couple playmats
- has a carrying handle
- is available for sale at my local game store
... and it met all those needs for me.
I believe the reference to the magnets thing has become a ongoing joke in most of the deckboxes reviews haha
@@Grungemanu Then clearly I have been slacking and need to watch more deckbox reviews, lol.
@@TheBloodswordsman The prof would probably agree to that, don't miss out any lessons!
The Professor doing informercials, I love the visual I get of that, hahaha
"Do your card dividers just not stay put? is this something you struggle with on a daily basis? Well no more!!" haha
The magnets, how do they work bit gets me every time 🤣
Gamegenic strongholds are the pinnacle of deck boxes.
@15:52 You took me back 12 years and I thank you for that
@18:15 The shade..
Always love how enthusiastic you are about the products. Another excellent video Prof
Still number one product reviews on the internet. Never stop doing these Prof.
That slide at the end! Perfection!! Keep being you, Professor. Thank you for your love of "nerd-dome!"
That Omni-Hive Shake Test was excellent. I think we were all quite surprised at how it held up.
I love my gamegenic lair 600+. Had it since early January and it fits perfectly in my bag with my trade binder. Holds my 6 commander decks, my assortment of dice and life counters i own and one full slot for token cards. A bit pricey but worth it!
