I actually prefer the live versions of Ready For It, I Did Something Bad, and Don’t Blame Me from this tour. She’s incredible live. But I do understand wanting to experience both of them 🤍
Taylor and her team go all out when planning her tour performances. She wants the fans to have a good time and she really works that stage and tries hard to connect with the audience. She sings live, without a backup track. She has several backup singers that are also there with her on stage and also spread out. The sound is good in this video because it's taken from the actual mics and not from ambient sound you'd hear at the concert as a fan. So it's not doctored. Taylor has fought hard for respect as a performancer/artist and being genuine is one of the things she is known for. She may not have a voice like Kelly Clarkson or Adele, but I love it. I love the character and sound of her voice. There's also a live band there, in the background. Many of the band members, dancers, and backup singers have been with her for years.
It's worth noting too that for videos of performances like this, they will often splice images from different shows/nights for copyright reasons on TH-cam, but they keep the vocal recording of that performance consistent. There is a Reputation Tour Special that is all from one show that is the predominant visuals in this video too 😊
Great reaction! I appreciate your wanting to hear the song first then, the live. Note for the future…you’re going to get inundated with requests for All Too Well- 10 minute version. I recommend reacting to the lyric video first, then the MV/Short Film. We will watch you react to both, trust me. We Swifties are a loyal and mildly obsessive group. 😊
The Reputation Era was her comeback after the world turned on her. Mainly because of Kim and Kayne illegally, editing and releasing a phone call between Kayne and Taylor. Taylor had forgiven him years before from the VMA incident when he was 32 and she was19. Then the phone call incident years later. They were friendly, had gone out to eat together several times. They were cool. Kim and Kayne illegally recorded and edited an almost hour long conversation into about 2 minutes about a song Kayne was making. When the song came out it was not the same as what Taylor had approved. Getting Taylor's approval was the point of Kayne calling her. Kim put the edited version on her tv show and social media when Taylor put out a message saying that is not what she approved. Kayne was at the height of his career so the entire world turned on Taylor and called her a snake. Taylor moved to London for a year to get away from all of the hate. The Reputation album is a story. It starts with Taylor being angry, clapping back at Kim, Kayne, D.J. Calvin Harris-an ex, Tom Hiddleston-an ex, Kendall Jenner, Katy Perry, Music streaming companies. I think that is all. Then Taylor finds love while going through the bad things. Over half of the songs are love songs. People forget that. False God from her SNL performance is superb. The song Carolina is excellent. She wrote it for the movie Where the Crawdads Sing. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together from the 1989 Tour is kind of Pop/Rock. No Body, No Crime is good too. Those songs are all different versions of Taylor. People who have never listened to her except that annoying Shake it Off that no one could avoid because it was everywhere think that is all Taylor does. Most of her fans don't care for that song even though it has a good message. It was so overplayed.
This explains a lot and is also a very fair perspective of people (like me) who had never heard much besides the mega pop songs that get spammed across radio and tv. & I do love the song she did for Where the Crawdads Sing. I loved the book and watched the movie and even then, I thought, I've never really heard TS like this. Thanks for sharing!
@@biggmerkreactionsnow how did you find Carolina so quickly a lot of people do not know that song. Fun fact she read the book and she wrote the song and just stashed it away. When they announced that they are making a movie she had the song ready and sent it through
I have been aware of her since she first started to pop up back in her teen years. Didn't have opinion in one way or other and then I had a fall out with listening music in general for a decade or so for personal reasons. She is one of the artists that I have found out after being able to start listening music again. Seeing this performance from her was it though that sold her to me and after that it has been journey to find what she is. There is so much good music. There have been few artists that I have done similar journeys and it has been fun thing to do for sure.
It's her letting everyone know that if they play stupid games they will get stupid prizes from her. She knows what you say about her and she now doesn't give an eff anymore because now she is living for herself from now on.
There is a full, official, video of this performance, but it's part of her Ruputation Tour video. This video here is an edit someone did using that official video and splicing in a few clips from other times it was performed while on the same tour. This may have been done to help prevent copyright strikes, but also to show other angles. That official video for a whole concert from the Reputation tour is available on Disney Plus, I think. Used to be on Netfix, but not anymore.
Sadly it is not on Disney. Eras tour movie is there though with the folklore long pond session. With netflix removing it from their platform I don't think you can see it anymore anywhere. What is a sad thing.
Okay I love these videos, watching other people fall in love with her is one of my favorite things 🥰 I definitely recommend you watch the All Too Well short film, also you NEED to see the videos for Bad Blood, You Need to Calm Down and The Man.
She performs for over 3 hours long without breaks. To get ready for the tours she runs on a treadmill for 3 hours straight while singing the whole set list.
Yes Reputation is kinda her era where she addresses all the bs the media threw/throws at her thereby giving her some reputation. She did absolutely zero promotion for this album, turned down interviews, saying “there will be no explanation, just reputation”. If anyone (media) actually listens to the album, it’s her biggest love album. It’s about meeting and falling in love with Joe at the worst time of her life. Since you prefer songs to live on 1st listen, you could listen to Don’t Blame Me on the album then react to the 2 (yes 2) live versions, the reputation stadium tour (I linked it under your ready for it reaction) AND her new one from Eras Tour (I linked it too under your ready for it) which is shortened version but it’s in 4K and superior quality. I'm really not so much a swiftly but I fully acknowledge her ability to write great songs on her own and also her singing is great. If you watch her live performance of "don't blame me" also from the reputation tour it's probably her best vocal performance live I think

A huge reason people enjoy Taylor is her song writing, worth checking out folklore. The long ponds videos give some description on what the songs are about which are great for people who are not familiar with her
Hiiii🫶🫶 If you do album reactions, you should totally check out the entire Reputation album. Now is a GREAT time to do so, because TTPD (The Tortured Poets Department) drops this Friday, April 19th. Reputation documents the beginning of her life with Joe Alwyn on so many ways, as well as of course detailing what was going on with her reputation and media perception at that time as well. TTPD is about the end of her life with Joe and I’m sure knowing Taylor, will still touch on the media and their perception of her.
I would like to see your reaction to your recording and then the music video or live performance. You should experience it the way you want to, we are here for it
I know a lot of people are recommending more Reputation songs, but I really think you should keep exploring different eras so that the viewers can get a good idea of what songs you vibe with and which albums you'd like most! Next time, if you want to do more live performances, I definitely recommend the live version of Out Of The Woods from 1989 (2014) to really see more of her amazing live vocals and stage presence. You could even react to both the music video and live performance in one video to compare and contrast if you want, as I'm sure us swifties would all be here for a long video lol Or, another direction you could take if you want to hear more of her lyricism, is checking out songs from Folklore (2020). The lead single from that album is Cardigan, which I think would be a nice place to start, or you could dive straight into some of the heavy hitters like My Tears Ricochet (fan favorite from that album) or Hoax (one of my personal favorites that has amazing writing). I could definitely give more suggestions but those are just a few that came to mind off the top of my head
Yes, I'm assuming Reputation is a lot of folks favorite era of TS lol. I can definitely see why though! I am going to branch out a bit. There are a few songs from other projects that ppl have suggested over multiple videos, so I'm definitely going to explore further!
If you watch the intro to the tour….. you will get the answer to the question you just asked. This tour and album came as a result from the whole Kim and Kanye year situation at the VMA’s
Yes, her Reputation Era is her being done with the ones who would put her down in hopes that she wouldn't or couldn't be able to get back up. In my mind, this is her "back-off" era .
She wasn’t necessarily in her villain era, but she was being vilified by the media and the Reputation album was her response after disappearing from the public eye for a year!
Who else caught the "For every lie I tell them, they tell me three!" reference?... "Remember, when you point a finger, you have 3 pointing back"...genius lyric
I personally call Reputable her F++k You album. She went through some things personally, including an eating disorder, and when she picked herself up she decided to stop doing what everyone else wanted and to make her own music.
Yes unfortunately the version from the reputation tour that was on Netflix isn’t available on TH-cam, at least I haven’t seen it. Please watch Don’t Blame Me/Look what you made me do from The Eras Tour, it’s amazing!
Yeah that's why she's doing it because Taylor over party was the biggest hashtag and people were talking about her on the internet talking crap about her so she made reputation
Watch/react to Ms. Americana, it a great introduction to her and helps explain her Reputation era a bit. This one is kinda a clap back to shitty boyfriends and the media insanity. Taylor Swift has managed to create something in almost every music genre and killed it every time. I was a Kelce fan first, went down the rabbit hole when they started dating, now it all makes sense. Lol I highly recommend The Long Ponds session of Folklore. And most song's from Reputation, but ONLY music videos or live concert.
Not a villain... this is from her Reputation tour & the songs all reflect crap that has been piled on her, & so her songs have her owning what they said or making fun of it. ~ When talking about the stage production itself, wait till you see live stuff from the Era's tour. Sooooooooooooo huge!
As you delve into Taylor Swift, I believe you will find her to be a generational talent. She is one of, if not THE, best storyteller/songwriter/singer in the business. I hope you will one day watch the Folklore Long Pond Sessions...with the interviews.
I did! I watched the Long Pond Sessions last night on Disney Plus! She's brilliant and so intentional and thoughtful. The insight that she gave in the interviews gave such a deep insight into her process. I really, REALLY enjoyed it.
I wouldn’t call it a villain era. She was never a villain. She was tired of being the victim of gossip so the Reputation era started her 🖕 to the media and haters.

I know it’s completely different from this but I still think you should react to Epiphany from the Long Pond Studio Sessions with the interview Included since you said you have family that was military and in healthcare.
Just a note… the lyrics don’t say “I did something bad” the lyrics are “they say I did something bad, but why does it feel so good”. She is playing into it and I think saying that even if they are right, it was deserved. There’s far more to the lyrics and messages but I always find it is interesting that most people in first time reactions miss the key part of the lyrics that say “they say” and those 2 words make all the difference in interpreting this song.
@@biggmerkreactions So many do, yet when the mic breaks(which it did on her tour) the sound stops except for her band. I love the fact that she doesn’t lip sync.
Kind of villain era - more like she's hearing all the villainous character she was being painted as & thinking - okay, let's really explore what that person would be like if she were real
It’s her reputation album. So she is playing out this bad person some people were gossiping about her being. And also how narcissists react when she defends herself and how she feels inside because of the emotions she experiences when dealing with it.
I don't think "villain" is the correct word to use for Taylor. As you learn more about her you will understand. Can't let perceived notions cloud reality. Please notice, she's saying "they said I did something bad", not that she actually did something bad. Otherwise, nice reaction. Thank you.
Gotcha. I used “villain era” as more of reference to embracing the hate, gossip and bullying and confronting/addressing it in a more direct, possibly rebellious way. I’ve never thought of her as an actual bad person or anything.
Yeah, I don't know why some Swifties insist on recommending Taylor's live versions/performances. If you a new listener, do yourself a favor and just keep away from all of that and start off with all of the recorded stuff.
There's a level of excitement of hearing a song first, loving it, and THEN being excited to see a live performance of it. That's the way we actually consume music in real life most of the time. I still enjoyed it, but now that I've listened to more songs, there are some performances I'm really excited to see now!
Condescending review by someone who really has no concept of her ability and involvement in the production. And the splice he references in the beginning isn’t - the tour version goes right to they are burning all the bridges - and he distracts from her voice. And yes you are disconnected and not much of a reviewer - more like someone who wants to avoid saying she is personally good. Get a new job. Doing Taylor to get hits to his channel.
I think you may be the first adverse comment I've received as I've started exploring Taylor's music! Congratulations for that! Thanks for watching and commenting and I hope your perspective changes. 🫶🏾

Yep. Live from the Reputation tour
This is the next, best choice. Don't Blame Me never fails to impress!
actually, watch, don't blame me/look what you made me to Eras tour. I love that version

I wouldn't say it's her villain era. It's more standing up for herself and reclaiming her power.

It’s just her setting boundaries rather than a villain era but feels absolutely like a villain era
I’m 60 and learning to set boundaries NOW. Don’t wait people. Know your worth and your importance.
I actually prefer the live versions of Ready For It, I Did Something Bad, and Don’t Blame Me from this tour. She’s incredible live. But I do understand wanting to experience both of them 🤍
Agreed - I prefer the arrangements for a lot of her reputation songs from either the rep or eras tours. Plus her performances, lordy!
Another fan favorite is "Don't Blame Me" live.
Taylor and her team go all out when planning her tour performances. She wants the fans to have a good time and she really works that stage and tries hard to connect with the audience.

I promise you won't be disappointed. Peace ✌️....
I know it’s completely different from this but I still think you should react to Epiphany from the Long Pond Studio Sessions with the interview Included since you said you have family that was military and in healthcare.
I have Epiphany from the Long Pond Sessions on the short list!
It's more like her "I ran out of fks to give" era 😂
She stopped putting up with shit from everybody after this album.
You should listen to the original song first then the live version in a single video
FWIW she does not lip sync
I didn’t think she did, I love that.
You need research on these songs! That way you will understand her lyrical talent.
If you think the this production is impressive wait till you watch The Eras Tour movie!
Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Lamar music video
It’s her reputation album. So she is playing out this bad person some people were gossiping about her being. And also how narcissists react when she defends herself and how she feels inside because of the emotions she experiences when dealing with it.
This is her, "I am a bad ass" era.
Media
She’s the next Elton John. 🤓🤷♂️
@@biggmerkreactions right on! And one other thing I would like to recommend is you watching and filming your reactions with the captions on.
The studio version is wayyyyy inferior to what you just watched.
She not a villon listen well dont b small
Condescending review by someone who really has no concept of her ability and involvement in the production. And the splice he references in the beginning isn’t - the tour version goes right to they are burning all the bridges - and he distracts from her voice. And yes you are disconnected and not much of a reviewer - more like someone who wants to avoid saying she is personally good. Get a new job. Doing Taylor to get hits to his channel.
I think you may be the first adverse comment I've received as I've started exploring Taylor's music! Congratulations for that! Thanks for watching and commenting and I hope your perspective changes. 🫶🏾
