  • Got the Iron Man 4x4 1.5 inch lift kit installed this past weekend, so went out to my new favorite local trail to test it out. I did not have a spotter this time so had to go it alone, and we just had some weather go through so the trail was quite wet which did not help with traction. She still did good though! I may need to get some better tires before my Utah trip in June.

i have a silver 2012 S 😄. were you in 4lo or 4hi? 4lo automatically turns on ABLS and is great for traction because it limits power to the slipping wheel. in 4hi, you have to manually turn off traction control to enable ABLS. also, i couldn't tell for sure but doesn't look like you aired down (i could be wrong though). that helps a lot.

For this trail I use 4lo for the rocky bits at the start. ABLS works well sometimes but for me it would often make the car jerk violently so I would stop it in fear that something would break. I have a front locker now and it climbs up things with no problem without activating the ABLS. This may have been before I had the ability to air down. I just bought the new Morrflate compressor and 4 tire air system, we're all set now. 😎

@@JTube571 the ABLS system is a little tricky. I felt the same way until I found out that for ABLS to work best, you have to keep the throttle steady instead of pressing/releasing and not touch the brake pedal at all. Not sure if you were doing that. Once I figured that out, I have been able to easily climb. Definitely not a replacement for an actual locker BUT does work really well on the kind of terrain in the video.

Most of these anti-slip systems work the opposite of how you want them to - you have to give them gas and wheelspin before they are effective - crawling and gentle throttle usually won't engage it in any meaningful way - which sucks.

What's your suspension set up? Just lift kit or combo of lift and spacers?

      Ironman 1.5" kit.

Does the Iron Man lift have spacers in the rear or just lifting (longer) springs?

      Just springs

This is an old video. I have a full Morrflate 4-way system I use now.
