Awesome video. I’m about to do a full suspension lift on my 23 PRO4X. Do you guys have any advice or video on what/where to cut for a bigger tire install?
Wheel offset, tire size, and alignment specs will all offer different results for each person, so it is important to realize one's experiences may change from person to person. For this instance, since we are running both a wider and taller tire and a 1.5" spacer, we had some decent rubbing prior to cutting. We would not have needed to trim as much had we opted to just run this size wheel and tire, and not include the 1.5" wheel spacer. We pulled the flare off, trimmed the lower part of the metal fender back to the bottom mounting screw while leaving enough meat to screw the flare back on, and trimmed the bottom section of the flare itself as well to clear the tires while turning. We wanted to trim enough to clear, while maintaining a OE look, and this process achieved that. We also used a heat gun to slowly melt the fender liner back out of the way in a few of the spots it protruded out into the wheel-well. There is also a clip in the center of the fender well behind the tire, and this is attached to a tab. You can remove this clip and carefully bend the tab back, to allow for more clearance. If you do this, be sure to take these steps a little bit at a time, and check wheel/tire fitment periodically between cuts to see where and what else is required for you to trim. We recommend using some painters tape to mark where you want to make your cuts to ensure you cut in the right places and have straight cuts. Check the video at timestamp 15:54-16:09 for a better picture of what this is referring to. Pause at 16:04 to see where we cut the fender and the flare. This process was the same on both sides.
You made it look simple, Nice work. Question... Don't I need to keep the strut in the same position when re-installing with spacers? Noone is talking about the strut now facing the opposite direction from how it should be...
The top-hat will only bolt into the strut tower one way. It doesn't make any difference which direction the shock body is facing unless it is a higher end shock with adjustment knobs or fittings that need to be accessible, but you should be able to fasten the threads into the top hat and use a long handled tool such as a pry bar or a screwdriver to turn the lower eye to line up with the LCA mounting tabs.
If you are sticking with the stock wheel and tire combo, yes it will work with out having to trim or do the melt mod. Those are only used when going up on tire size.
Do you recommend extended lower control arm bump stops with your 2" spacer? Does the suspension still bottom on the stock LCA bump stops or the shock itself with the spacer installed? I just bought your 2" lift that i am installing on a '24 P4X... I bought longer bump stops just in case, but hoping I don't need them🤞
thanks our team is working hard to continue to pump out the content. As far as the warranty, any issues would have to be proven to be caused by the modifications, so if the radio stops working, there is no way that was caused by the suspension.
Great video guys! I just put your 1 inch wheel spacers on yesterday and have a Rckilla 2 inch lift coming friday. If I decide to add another 1/2 inch spacer on top of what im already doing im definately going with your upper control arms. These trucks are so sexy with a mild lift! Its a must do for sure. Gives it the perfect stance and just enough extra clearance to clear more obstacles off road.
I spent a ridiculous amount of money on the nismo 3 inch lift installed by the dealership and 285/70/17 Falken wildpeak at3 DO NOT FIT! Anyone thinking they are putting 33 inch tires on the frontier without trimming wheel wells is fooling themselves. Also the tires I tried to put on are actually 32.8 inches tall not even 33. I have now ordered the 275/70/17. Praying they fit. I love my truck but Nissan seriously needs to look at modifying the wheel well ares as they are ridiculously tight even with the lift.
Nissan designs this truck with smaller more enclosed wheel wells for better aerodynamics. A little trimming and melt mod is very simple but very necessary when going up to a larger wheel and tire combo.

Are you referring to stacking a 1.5" lift spacer on top of the 2" lift spacer? If so, this would not be advisable. Once you get to a certain lift on stock width geometry, you begin to put excessive stress on ball joints, cv axles, tie rods, and other components within the front suspension. There are other ways to get more lift on a Frontier but we do not ever recommend doubling a lift spacer. Yes, we installed 1.5" wheel spacers on all 4 corners. Spacers can serve different purposes for different applications, but we and the owner of this truck felt the slightly more aggressive stance was the look we were going for. it should come like this!!!!!!!! one thing i like about the zr2
What are the biggest size tires you could fit with this lift for no rubbing?
The tires that come stock with the truck 265. All the trucks are rubbing with 285s
I live in Georgia. Can I visit and install it? How much does the installation cost?
Reach out to our service department here at Z1 Offroad and they can get you set up with a quote for parts and install.
I’m local to the area and thinking of doing this exact setup for my 22’ SV. What would it cost me for just the lift parts and ucas with installation?
This is a great option for your truck, reach out to our service team and they can get you setup with a quote!
From California, could I bring my truck 4x to you guys to work on?
Yes of course! We have ppl send their cars and trucks from all over the country. Reach out to our Service Department and they can set you up.
Why shackles over adjustable shocks for the rear??
The shackle gives us a touch of extra lift in order to match the ride height on the front.
Nice work Sir
"Solid Job." Truck L00Ks Great.
Do you guys have shop here at SoCal??? I really wanted to upgrade my 2023 frontier
not at this time, but we are currently adding more to our authorized installer network.
@@z1off-road pls pls pls. And thank you in advance! Let us know asap. Btw if you guys have a shop here in socal. There’s a lot of frontier trucks here already
You put loc-tite on to put wheels on without spacers?
No, there is no need to use loctite without wheel spacers. Just make sure everything is torqued correctly.
@@z1off-road why use with spacers then? Precautionary? Can't readily check that?
@@jdev232 Yes, we used it as a precaution because you cannot check them without pulling the wheels off. We also made sure they were torqued to spec, and it is recommended to check the torque spec after a few hundred miles to ensure everything is still torqued following the install.
Where can I get this lift kit for my 22 frontier?
www.z1offroad.com/z1-products/z1-off-road/22-nissan-frontier-lift-kit-by-z1-off-road-p-51607.html
I may have missed it, but what size tires were on the truck post lift install?
We set this truck up with a set of 285/70r17 Toyo Open Country A/T III Tires
Jack still reach ?
Thoughts on 2 vs 2.5 inch lift?
that is going to depend on the look you are going for. Both will retain factory ride quality, but the 2.5" will gain a little more down travel.
@@z1off-road with just the rear shackles the 2 will still have a raked stance?
@@kaoticmind09 from the factory, the rear is going to sit a little bit higher. This truck is running our 2" with our greaseable rear shackle on the 1" setting. If you go with the 2.5", I would set the rear at the 1.5" setting
Looks great but would be nice to see it sitting by a stock one to see the difference.
I think a nice paint job with row bar and new mountain tires would have been just as nice, without all the work involved.
How did you do the lower light yellow
We installed pre-cut yellow Lamin-X Film on the OE fog lights. You can purchase some for yourself here at Z1OffRoad.com www.z1offroad.com/lamin-m-359.html
i feel like the look at the end is what this truck should have been. idk why they didn't offer a lift.
What music y'all listening to? 🤘🏼😤🤘🏼
how much does the gas mileage change?
He said he lost about 2 mpgs due to the larger tires. But he is tuned with ECUTek, so he's back to around stock.
Bad ass!! How much was all that installed?
Thanks! For a quote with installation reach out to our service department.
We've linked all the products we installed in the description below the video.
How much would this cost?
We've linked the products we installed in the description of this video. At the time of this comment, a good bit of stuff on the site is on sale, so now is certainly the time to buy it at a discounted rate!
@@z1off-road thank you. I was curious how much an install would set me back

And now the other sideeeeee
Void your warranty on newer truck
How😊
Ive done this to mine, among other things as well, I still have my 100k bumper to bumper🤷♂️
They say once you start modifying it will void warranty
@BO-2016 not entirely true. There's things you can work around. Some things will void it immediately, and some have loops holes and what not. Exhaust for example, cat backs are fine because you leave the cats alone. Once you mess with the cats, like doing a catless downpipe and aftermarket headers, then yes that'll void it. I have a catback exhaust and a lift and still have my warrentys
Nissan could have done something like this themselves and I for one would have been begging them to take my money.
This is why we are here for you...
All of that for less than two inches.😢
Someone is getting rowdy on a dyno or something lol
yeah most likely, that's the only issue trying to film in a busy working shop... but it sure is cool sounding
@@z1off-road hey I like it!!
You mean people actually buy Nissan Trucks? All this time I thought dealers would drive them around occasionally to make people think people bought them. Crazy.
My brother just picked up the Frontier. As a Tacoma guy I liked it, now it’s the only v6 option out there for midsized
Still a mall rat with that tiny bed. Do a king cab with a real bed.
We are currently looking for a crew cab long bed so we can take all of our friends to the mall and get lots of stuff.
Poor man’s lift kit. 2” and wheel spacers😮better off keeping it stock. Save your $ and get some portals 😊
This is a great option for those who want to improve the travel & clearance on these stock trucks, and make it look better at the same time. The affordability of this kit is only another benefit!
Not saying I disagree but for a ride that will never see anything substantial offroad adding another $4k in parts probably isn't ever going to happen.
Doesnt look any different....all that work for nuthin
Get ya eyes checked
