Very nice, I’m a multi-Tacoma owner and am considering the 2024 Frontier, appreciate the video.
Thanks for watching! There are lots of cool trucks out there but we're definitely partial to the Frontier. They are great trucks.
I did the 2” lift with spacers on my 22 Pro-4X and getting ready to put on your UCAs. I think this combo gives the truck a balanced and good stance. Thanks for the walk through. The ft/lbs specs helps!
"Solid Job." Truck L00Ks Great.
Beautiful
Good video. Would be great to see more vids with your bolt on performance parts. I'm planning on buying a frontier.
More to come!
wow no more cutting the uca bolt to get the oem uca off. i hated doing that to my xterra. good to know if i get a new gen frontier.
Would love to see a Titan swap install.
Awesome video. I’m about to do a full suspension lift on my 23 PRO4X. Do you guys have any advice or video on what/where to cut for a bigger tire install?
Wheel offset, tire size, and alignment specs will all offer different results for each person, so it is important to realize one's experiences may change from person to person.
For this instance, since we are running both a wider and taller tire and a 1.5" spacer, we had some decent rubbing prior to cutting. We would not have needed to trim as much had we opted to just run this size wheel and tire, and not include the 1.5" wheel spacer.
We pulled the flare off, trimmed the lower part of the metal fender back to the bottom mounting screw while leaving enough meat to screw the flare back on, and trimmed the bottom section of the flare itself as well to clear the tires while turning. We wanted to trim enough to clear, while maintaining a OE look, and this process achieved that.
We also used a heat gun to slowly melt the fender liner back out of the way in a few of the spots it protruded out into the wheel-well. There is also a clip in the center of the fender well behind the tire, and this is attached to a tab. You can remove this clip and carefully bend the tab back, to allow for more clearance.
If you do this, be sure to take these steps a little bit at a time, and check wheel/tire fitment periodically between cuts to see where and what else is required for you to trim. We recommend using some painters tape to mark where you want to make your cuts to ensure you cut in the right places and have straight cuts.
Check the video at timestamp 15:54-16:09 for a better picture of what this is referring to. Pause at 16:04 to see where we cut the fender and the flare. This process was the same on both sides.
You made it look simple, Nice work. Question... Don't I need to keep the strut in the same position when re-installing with spacers? Noone is talking about the strut now facing the opposite direction from how it should be...
The top-hat will only bolt into the strut tower one way. It doesn't make any difference which direction the shock body is facing unless it is a higher end shock with adjustment knobs or fittings that need to be accessible, but you should be able to fasten the threads into the top hat and use a long handled tool such as a pry bar or a screwdriver to turn the lower eye to line up with the LCA mounting tabs.
Great video guys! I just put your 1 inch wheel spacers on yesterday and have a Rckilla 2 inch lift coming friday. If I decide to add another 1/2 inch spacer on top of what im already doing im definately going with your upper control arms. These trucks are so sexy with a mild lift! Its a must do for sure. Gives it the perfect stance and just enough extra clearance to clear more obstacles off road.
Thanks for the love! Agreed, a mild lift goes a long way on this platform for both performance and aesthetics.
I have the RCkilla 2” suspension lift and extra leaf on my 22. Love it can’t wait for bigger tires. I got the lift with the billsteins.
Looks awesome, got everything installed in mine like this one except spacers are 1” 🙌🏻 and just missing some 285 tires!
he used 1 1/2 inch spacers?
Yes they did. I used 1” on mine!!
Do you recommend extended lower control arm bump stops with your 2" spacer? Does the suspension still bottom on the stock LCA bump stops or the shock itself with the spacer installed?
I just bought your 2" lift that i am installing on a '24 P4X... I bought longer bump stops just in case, but hoping I don't need them🤞
As we went and tested the travel in this video, the limiting factor for up-travel was still the factory bump stop.
Great video! For this truck did you guys put wheel spacers on all four tires? What do you recommend?
Yes, we installed 1.5" wheel spacers on all 4 corners. Spacers can serve different purposes for different applications, but we and the owner of this truck felt the slightly more aggressive stance was the look we were going for. Keep in mind that a wheel spacer will effectively give you more "negative" offset, and this will require more cutting and trimming on the front compared to a factory offset wheel. We're happy with the overall outcome and look this truck now has!
What's the size wrench for the jam nuts on the upper control arm? Great video 👍🏽
The jam nuts on the back of the upper control arm are 28mm. Thanks for watching!
pretty awesome to see Justin getting in there and getting dirty! I can honestly say I can think of that maybe less than a handful of dudes who are in his position, that still work on things and get dirty.
Maybe Z1 Off Road can be the first to engineer and produce an Automatic to Manual Transmission kit for the new generation of Frontiers…
This would be the reason id buy a frontier of their was a manual option!
What I find peculiar is, the prior generation 6MT was stout enough to handle a LS V8 swap and tow heavy trailers let alone the 4.0 V6, so why would Nissan have to engineer much more than the bell housing to mate with the new 3.8 V6? Maybe a slight change to the ECU, but doubt much.
Frankly, this could be an easy swap if someone had the $$$$$ resources….
This is why I ended up with a Jeep Gladiator. Driving enjoyment means too much to me to ignore. I get the most enjoyable drives rowing the gears myself. The Frontier doesn’t offer it and the Toyota Tacoma offers it so rarely you can’t find them.
@@Green_Leaf Nissan would’ve lost money engineering a bell housing, ECU, etc… because manuals are dead. All I ever see is people complaining about the lack of manuals nowadays but guess what the Tacoma comes with a manual and only 1.4% of them ordered and sold had it.
@@AsianNIGMAthis what I was going to say, everyone always cries manual but then manufacturers give them one & no one buys it, or at least garner enough sales to justify it for the handful of ppl who might want one
Will the FUCA help with bucket contact? I have 2" spacers on my 22 pro4x and when they fully decompress. My upper control arms hit.
Yes they will. Our Z1 FUCAs are a fix for that as they are designed to clear the coil bucket as the suspension travels.
Check the links in the description of this video to get a set for your truck!
That's Bad Ass !!! Nissan should be manufacturing the Pro4X like this straight from the assembly line. Not to take work from your skilled profession but I'm just saying.
Agreed! We think this is a great look for the Pro4X trucks, and we're happy to help with that.
What do you guys charge for this lift install and alignment? I have the 2024' Nissan Frontier Pro-4x. I'd be the guy that would take a trip to your shop for this installation. Thanks!
reach out to our service department and they can set up a quote for you
@z1off-road would adding the 1.5" leveling strut spacer (to get 3.5" lift) advisable? What would be the cons?
Are you referring to stacking a 1.5" lift spacer on top of the 2" lift spacer? If so, this would not be advisable. Once you get to a certain lift on stock width geometry, you begin to put excessive stress on ball joints, cv axles, tie rods, and other components within the front suspension. There are other ways to get more lift on a Frontier but we do not ever recommend doubling a lift spacer. Additions such as a Titan swap, extended length struts, lift coils, and other supporting mods will help support the front suspension on your truck should you choose to want more lift.
Bad ass!! How much was all that installed?
Thanks! For a quote with installation reach out to our service department.
We've linked all the products we installed in the description below the video.
I’m local to the area and thinking of doing this exact setup for my 22’ SV. What would it cost me for just the lift parts and ucas with installation?
This is a great option for your truck, reach out to our service team and they can get you setup with a quote!
Do you have to swap your upper control arms with all lift on this truck?
We recommend that you swap them out when going over 1.5" of lift. If not, you may notice some coil bucket contact at full droop.
I live in Georgia. Can I visit and install it? How much does the installation cost?
Reach out to our service department here at Z1 Offroad and they can get you set up with a quote for parts and install.
Would the 2.5 lift with the same tire/spacer set up reduce the rubbing?
Depending on your setup at regular ride height you should have a little less rubbing, but keep in mind that throughout the travel range on compression the tire will still rub in the same places, regardless of lift height.
@@z1off-road thank you!
Do you guys have shop here at SoCal??? I really wanted to upgrade my 2023 frontier
not at this time, but we are currently adding more to our authorized installer network.
@@z1off-road pls pls pls. And thank you in advance! Let us know asap. Btw if you guys have a shop here in socal. There’s a lot of frontier trucks here already
Question. Seems to be a mix of opinion on the internet about wheel spacers, some say they cause bearing failure for front and rear.. others say no. I would like to install the 1 inch on my 2023 Frontier P4X with OEM wheels 265 70 17 tires and stock height, but I am a little cautious. What do you say?
Pushing the wheel further from the mounting surface will cause wheel bearings to wear quicker, but this is no different with a wheel spacer than with an aftermarket wheel with negative offset. The extra wear would likely be negligible with the setup you mentioned, depending on driving style. Adding negative offset can also affect where tires rub but this is different from truck to truck depending on setup of lift, alignment, and other variables.
However, as long as you correctly install the wheel spacers and torque them correctly, you should have many worry free miles ahead.
Many people prefer the look a wheel spacer gives, and some require it to clear components with different offset wheels but it is up to the end user how they would prefer to address it.
@@z1off-road Thank you
How did you do the lower light yellow
We installed pre-cut yellow Lamin-X Film on the OE fog lights. You can purchase some for yourself here at Z1OffRoad.com www.z1offroad.com/lamin-m-359.html
I may have missed it, but what size tires were on the truck post lift install?
We set this truck up with a set of 285/70r17 Toyo Open Country A/T III Tires
You put loc-tite on to put wheels on without spacers?
No, there is no need to use loctite without wheel spacers. Just make sure everything is torqued correctly.
@@z1off-road why use with spacers then? Precautionary? Can't readily check that?
@@jdev232 Yes, we used it as a precaution because you cannot check them without pulling the wheels off. We also made sure they were torqued to spec, and it is recommended to check the torque spec after a few hundred miles to ensure everything is still torqued following the install.
Thoughts on 2 vs 2.5 inch lift?
that is going to depend on the look you are going for. Both will retain factory ride quality, but the 2.5" will gain a little more down travel.
@@z1off-road with just the rear shackles the 2 will still have a raked stance?
@@kaoticmind09 from the factory, the rear is going to sit a little bit higher. This truck is running our 2" with our greaseable rear shackle on the 1" setting. If you go with the 2.5", I would set the rear at the 1.5" setting
How much would this cost?
We've linked the products we installed in the description of this video. At the time of this comment, a good bit of stuff on the site is on sale, so now is certainly the time to buy it at a discounted rate!
@@z1off-road thank you. I was curious how much an install would set me back
@@jp-lu5yp reach out to our service department and they can set you up with a quote
Nissan could have done something like this themselves and I for one would have been begging them to take my money.
This is why we are here for you...
Someone is getting rowdy on a dyno or something lol
yeah most likely, that's the only issue trying to film in a busy working shop... but it sure is cool sounding
@@z1off-road hey I like it!!
All of that for less than two inches.😢
Poor man’s lift kit. 2” and wheel spacers😮better off keeping it stock. Save your $ and get some portals 😊
This is a great option for those who want to improve the travel & clearance on these stock trucks, and make it look better at the same time. The affordability of this kit is only another benefit!
Doesnt look any different....all that work for nuthin
Get ya eyes checked
