    At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
    These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
    We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
    You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

    3:46 This wedge is rather designed for splitting wood. Tree felling wedges are usually made of plastic to prevent damage to the chain if the wedge comes into contact with the chain.

      I’ve done a lot of upgrades to the tractor. It can now lift over 2500 pounds.

    Found your channel from your comment on Woods Tree Farm channel. Looks like you have a cool variety of content!

      Thanks. I primarily want this channel to be about our tree farm, but we just started and as of today we only have three rows of tiny trees in the ground.
      I’ve got 60 more larger trees being delivered this week so I’ll have a planting video coming up.
      Do you have a tree farm?

    do you ever put any additional ballast on the 3pt? I don't have wheel weights, have spacers, but use a ballast box, backhoe, or tiller often to stabilize... Ballast box on a quick hitch is really nice. - Josh

      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hardy Brothers Outdoors I have a heavy hitch trailer attachment that can hold hang weights, but I don’t have weights for it
      I almost always leave the Backhoe on for ballast because I believe it is the heaviest attachment I have.
      I’m still going to get there tires filled
      I only have one set of wheel weights on because when I bought them I didn’t realize you could have three sets

    Can you tell me where you got the jacket you’re wearing? I need one of those!!👍

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love that jacket but I got it through a Facebook ad and it was poorly made. Not real leather, and the seams are all coming apart
      If I could find one that was real leather I would be wearing it all the time

    Do you think the 2038r could lift a pallet of firewood (stacked in IBC tote cages)? They weigh anywhere from 1200-1600lbs. Would the 2038r with pallet forks and adequate ballast be able to lift something like this like a foot off the ground?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have one specific pallet of freight that I get in that weighs 1700 pounds. I’m able to just barely get it off the ground and I have to go backward with it because It scrapes the ground if I hit a bump because is right at the lift capacity
      I have increased my ballasts since the last time we received that freight so it may do a little better now
      I have just ordered the mechanical self-leveling loader for my tractor which increases the lift capacity by a couple hundred pounds.
      If you are in the market for a new tractor make sure you get it with that self-leveling loader and then it would be able to handle them better

      @@RockhillfarmYT thats some good info! The 1600lb estimate is green firewood and I likely wouldn't move it far, if at all. Seasoned firewood is probably more in the 1200-1400 range. All I need to do is get is just slightly off the ground enough to move it into my garage. If it can get 1700lb just barely off the ground, hopefully it can get the 12-1400 of the ground a bit more. Thanks!

      I’m considering doing exactly the same thing, but I have not started cutting firewood yet.
      Let me know how it goes

      @@RockhillfarmYT Gotta buy the tractor first! Haha. I'm also wondering if maybe the 3pt with forks might work better

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not personally used forks on the 3 Point or tested the lift capacity of the three-point but they say it will lift about 100 pounds more than the front end loader
      If you are considering this tractor stay tuned because today I’m recording my full 100 hour tractor review that should be posted tomorrow
