definitely unpopular. ive always thought of the r33 as the middle child and always being put second to its younger better looking brother. all while the oldest is just shaking its head at the both of them.
I got to disagree with #1. The E34 M5 was the last hand built M car, the last 6 cylinder M5, largest displacement BMW 6 cylinder, and there is almost NO plastic in the entire car, unlike the E39. I think very long term the E34 will become more appreciated than the E39.
I can't believe people are still sleeping on C4 ZR-1s and praise the first gen Viper that much. I get that it's not as "exotic" looking as the Viper but it's got as much power and in today's money it's half the price.
In the Skyline world the R33 isn't that special, there's a reason why they stay at that price. R32s Dominated Racing and created a lore for itself in trading paint. R34s became a pop culture icon through Hollywood and even had a winning with the Pennzoil Car from JGTC. The R33 never stood for anything significant sadly, It wasn't as raw as a R32 or technically advanced as the R34.
How much of this is down to rarity ? The three Japanese cars are all significantly cheaper here in the U.K. possibly due to their noughties Boy Racer image. Twice recently I have seen a guy filling up his black R34 GTR complete with personalised plates. In contrast the Esprit is as expensive as in the USA and I don't recall the last time I saw one (even the more common 4 cylinder).
A lot is because of rarity. In the US, cars not originally sold here must be 25 years old to be imported. By the time we can finally get an R34, you Europeans and the Canadians have already had your picks. R34s are just starting to become eligible for unrestricted importation.
@@bwofficial1776 I have seen quite a few JDM cars with U.K. plates appear on Cars and Bids. the e24 m6 and e31 850csi are nicer
Did Doug buy movies Lamborghini? Next thing you know he'll be buying a Bugatti.
Doug ever the one to shove the mention of a Carrera GT into EVERY video, even about cars sub $50k. “Esprit V8 followed the formula of cars like the Carrera GT”… never mind the fact the Esprit came out a full EIGHT YEAR PRIOR TO the Carrera GT. 🙄
Enough Doug, we get it. You own a CGT. Cool story…
Wait, lotus Esprit V8 were twin turbo? How did I never know that? Ru sure?? And what's the maintenance and repairs like on these? I know you mentioned it's not great but how not great is it?
can't figure out how to use the internet huh?
Typical "Internet" douchebagery@
R33 skyline is probably the coolest skyline
Before this video all these cars were around 50k, after this video add 20-50k TH-cam fame tax 😅
Doug is the type of guy to make the same video every week. I'm the type of guy that will watch them all.
What about a 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT…
The German mind can’t comprehend that in the USA you can Buy an e 39 for less than 20 k
Over here you cant get it lower than 30k but this will have 120k + miles
$50K for a decent likable car. Hate to find out how much insuring that car will cost.
if you’re over 5’8” and big feet. You’re not going to buy Lotus Espirt that you need to shoehorn yourself in. It’s very tight and uncomfortable to see out for taller person. Even worse if they’re claustrophobic.
I know
