Doug, I saw your review of the European spec E 38 seven series. And I was so intrigued by it that I found one. It was $10,000. Happy to see my old 996 make another appearance in another Doug video! It's the Orient Red Metallic car at the 11:13 mark - but a little odd since Doug is talking about the 996 4S, whereas mine was just a regular 996 Carrera. Still, he's not wrong with what he says about the cars, they're a great value - a whole lot of car for the money.
I disagree that you can find nice examples of F80 M3s, especially 6 speeds, under $40k. I just searched AutoTrader nationwide, and there are only a handful of manuals under 40k, and most of those have 80k+ on the odo. I also own an F80 M3, and know this market pretty well.
Yeah sometimes he's a little inaccurate when talking about prices because on cars & bids cars usually sell for much lower than they would at a dealership.
I guess it wouldn’t quite make this list, but I walked out of a deal for $43k for with a 2024 Mustang GT Premium, six speed of course. For my needs, fun “economical” car to enthusiastically drive for work mileage all over Texas, I think has pretty good value. It’s a car that I can work on and do my own maintenance pretty easily. My other vehicle is a heavy duty truck that I love and use as a truck, but is a horrible thing to maintain for most of my work related travel which is mostly meetings, same day trips, and one or two nights allover the Texas Triangle. Luckily, my wife is a little more of a car gets from A to B kind of person. She values safety and comfort and right-size. She settled on the Volvo XC60 to fit her needs and sized for our family: her, me, one son that’s growing (12), and our yellow lab. We made an A4 work for awhile and we both loved that car, but it was too small for her. Vehicles are so interesting because of the interesting people who buy them and their needs. I would never buy the Volvo for me. It’s the most boring car on earth, but it does boring very well.
I think ScatPacks represent an even better value. +/- 400hp to the wheel is more manageable than 700hp but NA. That's a lot of fun. And a $40k Scat is a prime example or even 50th Anni.
There’s a 20 by me rn with 20k miles three owners 0 accidents great spec bronze and dynamics package for 35k super bargain. Hard not to buy I promised my wife it’s her turn 😂
Seriously. This is embarrassing. We’ve gone from reviewing cars and making actually interesting commentary from “here’s yet another list of cars I’d like to go up in value for my cars and bids sales.” I can’t believe people are watching these videos and coming away anything but disgusted.

@@NomenClature-o8sthere are a ton of new cars to review. Car journalists do it all the time. Doug wants to focus on his cars and bids business and that’s fine but these “top 10” list videos are just the car version of bad financial advise from cryptocurrency idiots and stock advice influences. Almost all of these are low effort videos made with the very obvious intent to drive up prices of used vehicles Doug expects to feature on his website. Many of these vehicles are already for sale on his website. Pretty much any vehicle that isn’t a press car is only being reviewed because it’s going up for sale on cars and bid. Which again, isn’t inherently wrong, but it’s pretty transparent and pathetic. Doug used to review actually interesting cars. Now we’re about to get out annual review of an S2000 for the 8th time because there’s one going up on cars and bids and for some reason Doug thinks it’s reasonable to do that. It is embarrassing. For $26K I would have bought that 93 Bentley Continental R Coupe and had the rest in the bank for repairs and maintenance. Talk about a bargain, a $400k car for base Civic money.
I considered a Porsche 996 Carrera years ago, but I ended up picking up a a 987 Cayman instead. Fantastic car with a much nicer interior, smaller dimension, and a mid-engine. Crazy good fuel economy for a 00s sports car too.
Quite honestly, the 996 with the turbo style headlights look quite nice with a detail and or while taking care of, but every time I start talking myself into a 996 I see the interior and it just kills it for me.

My dad owns a 996 Carrera, and we made sure to find him one where the IMS had been replaced. Other than little, annoying German car flaws, it's been a solid car. Also, the Ford Focus RS belongs on this list! A near-perfect one will cost a bit above $40k, but one with 60-80k miles is down into the low $30k range.
To me the knock on the 996 appearance, the nose to be exact, was not just the headlights but the fact it was exactly the same nose as the Boxster. Now that's true of a lot of others but the "unique" fried egg look brought that similarity to the forefront.

Surprised to not hear a single mention of the F87 M2! The OG (non-comp) models can easily be had in the 30s. One car which is in my opinion highly overlooked is 2015 - 2017 Audi S8 plus. In europe you can get a nice one around 40k euros, I bet in the US they wont be far from 40k dollars and you get 605hp V8(RS6 performance powertrain), bulletproof transmission, extremely comfortable and fun car which is faster than RS6/RS7 C8 which are generation above but still inferior in terms of speed.

I would definitely put the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio on this list..... used low mileage ones are right around the $35k-$40k price point. Love them!
Great list! I’d also throw in the mustang GT with manual transmission. And as much as I wish I saw my 2018+ STI on the list I wouldn’t want to buy a used STI unless it was stock, low miles, and meticulously maintained with records 😆.
Idk, but I gotta disagree here-mostly because of the defenition of "cool." In my opinion as someone who owns zero supercars. It would be cool to see a shift in the channel to more “standard” cars that you mod yourself from the ground up. Obviously having a couple Lamborghinis would be great but I think the views would continue to come in on some standard cars being modded.

I narrowed it down to a Jag F-Type V6, BMW M2, Audi S5, C43 coupe, Lexus RC350 (V6 and coupe was a priority). Cut out the M2 because the interior was almost identical to my 1 series, Jaguar was the prettiest to me, but would be an older model (2014, 2015) and I worried about reliability, Lexus was non offered, because their isn’t really any in EU where I live. In the end it was between the S5 or C43 but the C43 was 3-5k more expensive and the Audi seemed the most logical to me (love the interior) wanted the first gen since before my drivers license.
When Doug sponsors himself.
Yes, these videos are no more than an ad for his auction website.
You new here?
Every.single.video is sponsored by Cars and Bids. And every-single-video he is wearing the same cars and bids shirt.
It's been this way for over a year now. It's the reason why he's one of the only TH-camrs that doesn't have a sponsorship

I generally agree with you. I bought a 2017 comp with 37k miles for $46000 and thought it was a steal. 2015's are fairly cheap though
Agreed, 2018 manuals with competition package are still $60k cars
80,000 miles on a BMW?? That's a bomb waiting to go off.
Just turned 40k on my F80 comp. Still a baby!
This is the great second owner car he talked about. Plenty of nice GTs in the low 30's.
Doug is the type of guy who won't shave until one of these $40,000 cars sells for $50,000 on CnB.
I think ScatPacks represent an even better value. +/- 400hp to the wheel is more manageable than 700hp but NA. That's a lot of fun. And a $40k Scat is a prime example or even 50th Anni.
At legal speeds a hellcat isn’t much faster than a scat.
