    Anbull 223cc engine review and disassembly. The Anbull 223 looks like a non-hemi Wildcat 223 engine. 58mm crankshaft and 70mm bore like the Predator 224 engine and the Wildcat 223 Hemi engine. The 223 Anbull engine would be great engine to build for stock appearance Kart Racing!
    This is not a sponsored review. I purchased this engine with my own funds and disassembled it completely to share the details with you.

    The new Anbull 223 engine review is much like the Wildcat 223. They share a similar reinforced engine block but the big difference is the Anbull 223 is a Non-Hemi head type Honda clone engine! In this video we'll disassemble the new Anbull 223 engine and discuss the differences and a few similarities between it, the Predator 224 and Wildcat 223 engines. Some features are shared between the 223 Anbull engine and the 223 Wildcat Hemi engine as well.
    A close look will find the new 223 Anbull vs 223 Wildcat engine for comparison. They seem to share the same reinforced engine block and that great torque pattern marked side cover. High performance aftermarket parts are easy to come by with no special cam required. You can run any (.549) clone camshaft in the Anbull 223 engine! (Although you may need to clearance the camshaft for that massive 58mm stroke crankshaft.)
    The 223 Anbull engine block is reinforced and that one feature is worth $100 aftermarket. Add in another $100 for the 58mm Stroke FORGED crankshaft and it's easy to see this engine is well worth the $219 price tag.
    Now for some numbers and features:
    1. The 223 Anbull engine crankshaft is a 58mm (2.283") crank with a rod journal diameter of 1.179"
    2. The 223 Anbull engine cylinder head is a non-hemi type, this differs from the Wildcat 223. It looks to be around 20cc
    3. The 223 Anbull engine camshaft has a shaft diameter of .549" on both ends and will interchange with standard Honda sized clone camshafts
    4. The valve sizes in the 223 Anbull engine are not advertised but measure out at a very respectable 27mm Intake and 25mm Exhaust
    5. The cylinder block in the 223 Anbull engine is a reinforced race type dual bearing block and though it does not have a name raised in the casting, it certainly appears to match a Tillotson block and the Wildcat 223 block
    6. The non-Hemi type valve cover is cast aluminum!
    7. Wrist pin size for the piston measures out at .708 on this one. The Wildcat pin is usually between .707 to .709
    8. The coil in NOT a rev limiting coil. It's a stock coil design on this one so careful if you remove the governor.
    It's my opinion the 223 Anbull engine is one of the best 58mm Stroke engines of any currently available. When we compare the 223 Anbull vs 224 Predator, they both have a 58mm stroke crankshaft but much is removed from the counterweights on the 224 Predator version. This makes the front of the rod throw on the 224 Predator crankshaft heavy and difficult to balance. The Anbull 223 engine has a nice machined side of the counterweight but there is no extra material (weight) removed from the counterweights. This should make a well balanced and smooth running engine! With a bit of work and a few billet parts, this engine could be a great "Stock Appearance" Kart racing engine

    • @KentuckyFriedFixes

      I agree. The main objective was to promote more airflow around the back of the cylinder, but the added benefit is it helps keep the jug from blowing off on big bore engines. Thanks!

      Sometimes those flywheel keys are stuck pretty tight in the slot on the crankshaft. I use a pair of side cutter pliers to grab on to the key to remove it. Just try not to nick it up too much if you're planning on reusing the key of course. It is removeable.

      That would be a great combo! I'm working on the details for a build on this one. I'm really partial to a long billet rod and that Wildcat piston but I have considered the combo you mentioned! @KentuckyFriedFixes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gabe, the 3.353" part # 8281 EC forged rod works great with the flat top piston that comes with the 223 Anbull engine. Most blocks should be near TDC or a few thousandths above deck. Just remember to choose your head gasket thickness to allow at least .035 quench distance between the top of the piston and the head and you'll be in great shape.

    • @Gabe-tt2jj
      @Gabe-tt2jj ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KentuckyFriedFixes so a .35 head gasket would be good?

    • @KentuckyFriedFixes
      @KentuckyFriedFixes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Gabe-tt2jj Hi Gabe! I had one that the piston was almost .010 above the deck so I used a .045 thick head gasket. Another block was at TDC and so I used a .035 with that one. As long as you have at least .035 clearance you'll be fine.
