Throughout the episode, the profanity sh*t or sh**ty are exclaimed uncensored a total of 162 separate times; in syndicated or re-aired versions of this episode, a counter in the bottom left corner of the screen counts the number of times the word has been uttered. The written occurrences are not counted, but "sh*t" is written 38 times, which brings the count up to an even 200. On a statistical average, the word "shit" is uttered roughly once for every eight seconds of showtime; one such count includes the episode's theme song in the calculation.

“I don’t think you hear me Kyle. I said, shit, on television.”
    Slight fourth wall break.

"i think this was south park seeing how far they can push comedy central"
is exactly right.. and it was around this the that the ftc started allowing cussing on tv after midnight until like 4a or some arbitrary rule.
The whole point of this was to point out how arbitrary curse words are and all of the laws around them and seeing how far they can push the censors.

I mean curse words are arbitrary but your only meant to really use it for emphasis. People who swear a lot are looked as less attractive and more angry.

it actually has rained items like fish and worms in Louisiana because waterspouts will pick up the items from bodies of water and then drop them onto land. it also rained thousands of colorful birds from the sky in Baton Rouge in the 1896

This episode was I believe only the 2nd time the word “shit” was allowed on American television. Some cop drama at the time made history by saying it once and Matt and Trey thought it was ridiculous that that event caused such a fuss and they wanted to point out how ridiculous it was by using the word a whole shitload of times. And it worked because there was zero backlash to this episode.

The knight with the Scottish accent must be a parody of Giles Redferne (Richard E Grant) in the movie Warlock (1989). In that film, an evil warlock (the late Julian Sands) tries to learn the true name of God so that he can say it backwards and unmake all of creation. It's a pretty good film, if a bit campy, and might be worth a watch if not a reaction.

The planes that have middle seats are wide-body airliners. They're mostly intercontinental flights, but back in the 90s and 2000s, domestic flights with them were common.

Where the word comes from is cow manure use to be ship over seas below deck so the methane build up was causing ships to explode. So the acronym S.H.I.T was put on the side of the containers of cow poo so the crews knew to keep it on deck. (Ship High In Transit)

They were also told they could say it no more than 164-165 times
So they added the counter to keep track and pushed it right to the limit.

  • @mckenzie.latham91
    @mckenzie.latham91 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The reason for the counter is because the studio execs told them they could only say shit under 164-165 times
So they made sure to play it right to the limit.

As someone already stated, the planes with seats in the middle are for intercontinental travel. Seat configuration varies, but most airlines now go with a 3-3-3. Sometimes, these are used within the US seasonally. Traveling is a hobby of mine, and working around the smaller narrow body aircraft makes that easier. Any recommendations on places to visit in Germany?

    1. "i can say shit as much as i want!" would have been a good way to end the sentence with an explosion, missed opportunity
    2. was that little bit with the cat and the guitar part of weezer's song buddy holly? i remember those exact notes in the solo

Back in the day there were strict censorship rules regarding what could be said on tv at certain times of the day on certain channels. There still are to some extent but they have gradually been watered down. This episode was making fun of all of that.

.."You can go massacre a village in Thailand just because someone say shit on television".. yes.. you are aclimatizing to the American perspective very well and I don't say that the American perspective is DIRECTLY wrong, but it may be the wrong CHOICE.. as in.. You COULD go and massacre a villige in Thailand.. that is TECHNICALLY correct.. but just because you "can" doesn't mean you SHOULD.. mmhay?.. THAT is where I think American foreign politics constantly hjave failed.. YES you can BLAME Iraq for things that never happened and attack them DESPITE every.. single.. nation.. in the UN say that such war is NOT justified.. you CAN!.. but you .. SHOULD you?. .Technically I think the choices made by the US has been so appalling lately that.. even the fact that you mention that "you can" MAY mean that some nitwit thingks.. "oh?.. we CAN?.. okay.. I didn't think about it, but... it gives us something to do I guess.. ".. and then go ahead with it.. That is the level of forethought used.. People in the pentagon (or congress, or the whitehouse).. MAY take it as an actual suggestion skipping the part of actually finding a proper motivation for it.
