It always feels strange to me when I hear someone talking how they didn't know as a kid meats they ate came from slaughtered farm animals. I mean, where DID they think meat comes from? I remember when I was 4 if not earlier and already knew very well that you kill an animal and make it into food. I don't remember ever asking my parents or anyone, I just knew it from common sense, I guess.
I assume Romanian is like Spanish where the word "sensible" means "sensitve" it sounded like Toli kept making the same mistake my wife (native spanish speaker) does. In English "sensible" well reasoned, not silly etc. "Sensitive" means easily influenced by emotional reactions.
This was such a funny episode. The next one is really good too. I know it has Terrance and Philip in the title but they are just a small part of the episode.
If you don't eat meat, that's your choice, but you can't stop others from eating meat. Try convincing a hungry lion to become vegetarian. You might as well serve the lion a menu with your name on it, and I don't mean on the byline.
Ex-vegan myself, one of the most insidious modern day myths is that vegetarian or vegan diets don't require animal death or suffering to produce. Everything has a cost, and just because it's not on your plate doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Pesticides poison, harvesters eviscerate. Even when the animal is beneficial, like pollinators, the devastation caused by large-scale operations is unfathomable. Take almonds, for example, a vegan staple (think of all the almond milks and almond flours). One study found that in just a few months between 2018-2019, over 50 billion bees died due to commercial beekeeping practices in the US alone. That's more deaths than all other animals raised for slaughter combined, including fish, and was more than 7 times the entire human population at the time. We can all be cognizant of our impacts and advocate for better practices, but that requires an honest look at the alternatives, which few ever actually examine. And that's not even touching on the health detriments of meat-free diets (especially for the young and old) or the massive environmental damage caused by large scale mono-culture crop farming, which is basically all commercial farms, or the fact that much of the earth is unsuitable for growing commercial crops but is suitable for grasslands for grazing.
@@kadajnoir7369 You seem to have missed the entire point of the comment, which is that EVERYONE 'pays for animal cruelty', vegans included. You included as well.
So there is actually a practical reason for veal. The fact they animated them with udders is actually inaccurate as veal is primarily made from male calves. This is to help because having too many males in the herd can cause territorial aggression, so they make them into veal if they have too many male calves. I'm not saying I condone the practice of keeping them from locked up as they depicted but I've also tried veal once and let's just say, it's definitely a guilty pleasure food. hehe...

Personally I am a vegetarian and I dislike the way this episode presents its message, as I believe the point they are trying to make is the same as with the Butt Out episode, that you don't want a personal choice lifestyle to turn into a mission to influence others. Still, Stan never did anything like that. He was called turning into a "pussy", and I get that he wanted his friends to stand up for his cause, but if he stayed vegetarian and understood that others will still eat what they want, that would have been a much stronger moral.
Pure hypocrisy. Either you are fine with eating all meat, or none of it. Eating a mother cow is no more "humane" than eating her offspring. PS: I am a meat eater by the way.
Some of the worst reasons to be on a vegan/vegetarian diet is because it's forced on you. Let people do what they want to do, I personally stopped eating meat but I still consume fish. Pescatarian diets are varied enough that I don't take a single supplement and I've been doing fine for over a year and a half.
even if you eat meat you still need to take supplements like k2 and coq10 unless you eat organ meats too because those vitamins you can only get from eating organ meats like liver, heart, lungs
I think Matt and Tray said they don't hate vegetarians, they just think they're pussies. Makes no sense, but ok. I wonder if they still think like this..
I've had veal, it's never been as good as other meat I've had, maybe the animal was too old? But hey if the animal is already slaughtered and has a price tag, I can't undo that, fill me uip.
The portrayal of veal in this episode is ... pretty exaggerated. Most veal is from male dairy steers that go to slaughter at 18 months. They are still 800lb + animals at that time. "Grain fed Veal" Is just like normal beef with a shorter turn around. That said, "Milk Fed veal" is closer to what's shown here... The steers are kept in a pen too small to move in with a constant stream of milk flowing in front of them, it's all they ever eat and I would indeed consider it animal cruelty. Then there is "baby beef".. which is exactly what it sounds like... very rare since 99% of people don't want to eat it by choice. :/
I once caught Vaginitis myself, not from abstaining myself from consuming meat but from reasons I’d rather not discuss. I had to go through 4 full Andrew Tate courses to get myself completely cured.
