It seems impossible to eradicate nutsedge In my flower beds... When considering how delicate flowers are to the herbicides for nutsedge. Any suggestions?

I had that problem a few years ago. Once we hit late fall and the flowers were about to die, I changed out the soil. I only dug up about a 2 foot circle and about 1 foot deep. Once I added new soil, I never had nutsedge in the bed again. I only had a small problem due to drainage, I am not sure how big of an area you are dealing with.

Why did you say nutsedge was the only exception?

Nutsedge will multiple if pulled wrong. You really have to pull the whole plant that's under the soil. Otherwise, it will spread. Pulling really only works if you catch it early before it develops underground roots.

@@TheALG Thank you so much. And now that makes sense because I was wondering why when I pulled one I started to see multiple come back. So pull from under the soil, got it

@Champagnegame0 I would look into chemical treatment. Ortho nutsedge killer is a good start. Just don't apply mid day when temps are over 85 degrees
