Being a huge fan of Sungazer, I'm really looking forward to seeing all the new stuff. I thought Adam and Shawn stopped working on the new tracks, and I'd be really happy to be proved wrong😄
The two interconnected guitar solos are just so ridiculously good. Such effortless execution of intro, build-up, pause during the pre-chorus and climax in the end. Massive props to the guitarist, his parts serve the song so extremely well.
i only knew him from his vlogs for a long time, but the more i've dived into the body of work that this adam neely fella has put out, the more he seems like one of the most interesting and intelligent musicians since zappa
Just so you know, there is this one guy, called Jacob Collier... If you only once listened to his music, you will never forget it. Adam himself even talked about him as "who is obnoxiously good at music"
I love this track - not just the way it's played, but the way it's structured. It has an emotional kick to it that verges on the sublime. I hope that there'll be more Sungazer recordings.
Great stuff. I love how you allowed it to become catchier and less confusing towards the end, but maintained the general feeling of it. Also, as a drummer, I am dazzled.
Samuel Gould it would work in 9/8, but judging the song based on points of repetition it seems to work better in either 9/4 or in alternating phrases of 4/4 and 5/4
Wonderfully done. I very much like the blend of raw guitar and classic Sungazer elements. Feel free to collab more often, you and Adam. You guys produce a great sound, as always.
I'm so happy I've found this a year after it was made - it was all the time needed to transition from prog rock to jazz-based music and take lots of it in to fully appreciate this style
Hey Shawn, there's a pretty cool new trigger like drum attachment that you would probably really like called Sensory Percussion. Its really powerful and expressive if you want it to, you can put it on any drum with a rim.
As a drummer I don't understand too much about the melody and all that but man is it good. And so catchy. Saw the 9/8 video and this song is absolutely ridiculous and on nonstop loop these past days
I quit my Spotify subscription this month. It had been so good for finding new, challenging music, but now it's just another corporate sell-out. I haven't been listening to music. Then I found Sungazer and I actually care about music again!
:O! New Sungazer and I'm only finding out about it now? I'm so happy but wish I had known sooner. This is amazing! :) Please tell Mr (Dr?) Neely to let us know on his channel when new Sungazer music comes out :) I'd also love to see videos of you breaking down some of these less common rhythmic feelings, such as quintuplet swing, if you ever got the chance because the internet is fairly lacking in this area of teaching. Thanks guys, keep it up!
Oh come on....make a version of "Bird on the Wing" with a ridiculously long last part. I don't know why (theory and stuff) but it's a tearjerker after a while... Cynic kinda managed to do this stretching with "How could I"... but roughly 20 seconds are not enough to get as emotionally involved as I want to .... one way to do it would be making an awesome, lenghtened live performance.... and put it on YT for all the people to see that are living outside of the US Sorry for making demands, just really like the song and the band ^^°
this is a brilliant, virtuosic performance. Interestingly this song crosses some threshold with me where it is SO complex that I find myself unable to even follow along or like, nod my head. I'm sure there's some complicated reason behind the rhythms but damn my brain just feels like something's wrong.
It was a song Cole Porter sang I sang too soon And not soon enough This was a song I sang to you For summers ago But now Im no longer bound By the bird on the Wing
Condensed into a single word, this song is "Fizzy".
It’s more Pepsi than coke
Pops like Rocks.
more like EPIC
Check out the bass transcription of this song !

back before Shawn and Adam decided which half of their hair they were going to stick with
Ah yes. The good days

Chord change at 3:38 is too good
oh my fken god
Gives me chills
And that pinch bend from the guitarist makes it all that much better
You're right, that chord change just gives me a great feeling of satisfaction!
but but but but but but but but its nothing special, like yeah its nice good and beautiful but nothing extraordinary
I can barely describe how perfect that small guitar flourish at 3:37 is.
I can fucking *feel* it
Been listening to this literally whole work day , and every time i hear this guitar i shiver
The two interconnected guitar solos are just so ridiculously good. Such effortless execution of intro, build-up, pause during the pre-chorus and climax in the end. Massive props to the guitarist, his parts serve the song so extremely well.
Played this song on my drum recital, got a perfect score (:
Please put out more music! I am seriously such a fan of everything you guys make!

Love electrical jazz, very nice musicians. Thank you guys

3:12 Adam just chillin the the back.
is this in 9/8?
Samuel Gould it would work in 9/8, but judging the song based on points of repetition it seems to work better in either 9/4 or in alternating phrases of 4/4 and 5/4
You got this right before Adam Neely explained that this was in 9/8!
Huh, Adam just answered this in a video. Thanks Adam! Welp, just forget my answer
Yup
Yes.
I'm in love with the bass line in this song. It is light and airy, but also hard hitting. Such an awesome contrast.
"I'm no longer bound by the bird on the wing"
It's a *BOP* ladies and gentlemen
My wife's feed back is that these are great ring tones. Thought I'd share.
Mind blowing and sensation work.
Hell yes to this entire album. I love everything about this song. Oh, and Adam on vocoder is some raw power.
I didn't know this was coming so it's an insta like from me.
aaand it's a like well spent if you ask me.

I'm so happy I've found this a year after it was made - it was all the time needed to transition from prog rock to jazz-based music and take lots of it in to fully appreciate this style
One of, if not my favorite song. Greatest modern electric band of all time!
What a banger, love the build throughout the song.... more please
Come play in Quebec plz ! Love you music !
Adam's so much into that chorus! I'd love to hear the vocals before the vocoder. :D

Best Sungazer song.

Nick Sebesta I have one that I've been playing around with. :)
Sungazer has been the best new thing I've listened to all week, and I just listened to Aqualung and Gentle Giants self titled. Nicely done lads!
Definitely my favourite Sungazer tune!
soooo good!! Please make more music. And please come to Australia :)
I bloody love this song!!!
That was magnificent. Thank you, guys.
This is truly the future of music!!!
Oh I remember this one from an old Adam's vid. I really liked that version.
And i'm glad you made this new arrangement. It's awesome. Thank you.
Just wow... Keep doing what you're doing, you're awesome guys
Can't wait for more of your music :3
I wish I could have heard you guys live, this slaps~
As a drummer I don't understand too much about the melody and all that but man is it good. And so catchy. Saw the 9/8 video and this song is absolutely ridiculous and on nonstop loop these past days
Holy bass
Jaco's natural harmonics riff 1:25
This is one of those times when you wish it was you who wrote the song. AWESOME JOB!!!
Really excited for new Sungazer.
Brings tears to my eyes. So damn good
I'm really a stranger to this type of music. But I loved every second of this. Very cool
My favorite Sungazer track so far!
I mean, I really really like it. Exciting :)
God that guitar solo is beautiful, awesome video!

These guys kick major ass. Glad I found them
These are some of my favorite sounds
Even now, this is so far ahead of its time.
Duuude is u and Adam!! Made mi morning, thank you
Got here from the Virgil's stuff video btw
Amazing! new sungazer's tune
This sounds like a song that would play in a futuristic city in a video game. I love it!
Im so hyped for the new ep!
The hook always gets me.
The time has come for Sungazer to become a real band
So funny how jazz and metal are converging. This sounds like a prog metal song with less distortion.
The left foot against everything else is insane!
can t wait for the new ep!
Love that pure OTT treated piano
I quit my Spotify subscription this month. It had been so good for finding new, challenging music, but now it's just another corporate sell-out. I haven't been listening to music. Then I found Sungazer and I actually care about music again!
Feels good yall

Wow. Beautiful.
Duuude this is super hot!! I thought Vol. 1 was all the sungazer i was gonna get, but then i found this little treat.
Elliot 8/10 not enough strings
Wow!
Please write and record more music! Thanks!
MORE SUNGAZERRRR
Very great.
hell yeah new music
Awesome!
That last solo really reminds me of the album Colma by Buckethead. Really similar tone and phrasing, especially to the song Machete.
Adam silently judging at 3:11
This still Roccks!!!!!
Very nice!
Mr klien please tell me you have a channel
A THOUSAND TIMES YES
love the choppiness effect. is that sound created using a gate?

Sorry for making demands, just really like the song and the band ^^°
Is that a contact microphone on the auxiliary hi-hat?
Yeah, looks like it. I don't know if it's used for triggering a hi-hat sample, or just because they liked the sound.
+Joseph Rollins Yep, we were using it to trigger MIDI. Though I don't think it ended up doing anything on this track.

This is awesome...
You folks are maniacs, this is cool af
That 7 strings strat tho
A little like Zappa meets EDM. Good stuff
Can we get the lyrics!? There is no way I can make out Adam's lyrics with the vocoder laid on so heavy.
There was a band / Called Hoobastank / They touched my soul / And I quit the bass
It was a song
Cole Porter sang
I sang too soon
And not soon enough
This was a song
I sang to you
For summers ago
But now Im no longer bound
By the bird on the Wing
amazing
finally MOREEEEEE
Tasty and inventive as ever.
love it!
Great music... reminds me of Jojo Mayer's Nerve a little
pedro7g5 I definitely noticed that with their song Sequence Start. A LOT of elements of Nerve, as well as An Endless Sporadic.
Adam has admited it's one of the bigger influences on their music
I really need a bass tab for this
Why you don't upload this great songs to Spotify?
THE MADMAN
Super!
Very cool. Do you have a contact mic on your Hi hat? And why?
Wonderful work, but are there 3 snare drums?
