MORE MORE MORE! I learned SketchUp through you, but have started to move to Rhino. You make it all make sense. MORE MORE MORE!

snapping is only working on creating rather than snapping from existing object to another object?

Great content. I'm wondering how to snap to a nearby object, say a corner, when you are dragging a plane of a surface using the gumball. So that the plane you are dragging aligns with a nearby plane, if that makes sense?

Sir, wonderful explanation about snapping even some of them I heard it for the first time still I have a little bit of doubt about tangent snap

Great video, a bit fast paced for me, I need to slow it down. But I'd like to know how to just connect two curves, or a curve and an object point or edge, for the Sweep2 and Sweep1 tools to work properly.

    Very helpful thanks mate,
My question is what if we already have two objects can I move one object and have it snap to the other objects centre or side at all?

you forgot to mention *object tangent*. its a feature within the tangent snap. you wont see the "object tangent" text field unless the first control point is on a tangent and the curve has to be at a particular angle to make a smooth transition the other objects tangent. pretty important to know if you're doing precise curve work.

Hi! I have a few doubts about Snapping and inferencing and am looking for a similar interface of Sketchup in Rhino. Please help me out with the following:
    1. In perspective viewport, all lines, rectangles only snap to the XY Plane and not on the Z-axis, so if i have to create a window cutout in a wall, I am having to make it in plan and then rotate it, please suggest a better way to do it
    2. In Sketchup, arrow keys help us to lock inference points and axis, is there a similar command or snapping method in Rhino too, wherein, for example, i want to measure the vertical distance between 2 points not aligned in Z-axis, but I need to know the distance in height between them. Sketchup allows me to lock my cursor in Blue axis using top key and then reference a point elsewhere, similar option in Rhino for the same please.
    Thank you

Is there any way I can set the center snap to only react to circle, part of circle, and ball~~but not to any other object such as a surface center, or a closed cruve center, or anything else?

Hi Justin! Hope you can help me with an a simple issue I am having. I'm transitioning from being a sketch up modeller to a rhino one. I tend to model in perspective viewport (as I am coming from the sketch up background). How do you snap to the Z plane in Rhino? Is there a short cut? In sketch up the arrow keys always allowed to you lock to a c plane. Can't keep to find a short cut for Rhino. Worth mentioning I am a mac user too. Its driving me a little nuts! Hope this makes sense and to hear from you soon!

In your snap selection menu (bottom of screen) select "project". All line work will snap to Z=0.

Try doing these on extruded surfaces. I have hard time snapping to an extruded wall, it only snaps to the bottom.

what am i looking for is snapping the existing one object into another existing object, this object snap only for creating new curves or another object that you want to create.

It works with the move function - you just snap to a base point then snap to a target point

But how can an object be snaped to align with the grid? That's something I've never been able to find an answer to.
