Awesome video. This is probably the best video about the Gumball tool around. I have used Rhino as a student of yacht design, and now more casually as a woodworker. I use Sketchup too, and flip between the two. Sketchup is so easier for geometric design, but Rhino is by far more complete. Alas there are many more steps to do things that are simple in Sketchup. On the other hand, when it comes to curves and curved shapes, Rhino is far superior. I expect your new channel will make it easier for me, and others, to us Rhino. So thanks!

Overall I think this is a good summary of the differences between the two as I've experienced them so far :)

can you answer this question please?! "do you know any tricks to fix the relocated gumball so that it doesn't auto relocate back to its original position after every operation? it is very annoying to have to keep relocating back to where it needs to be. surely there is some way to get the relocation to persist?"

I don’t know how to appreciate your favor. As a sketch-up expert I’ve had a lot of effort with out push pull thanks a million.

Perfect tutorial…thx a lot. Off-topic question: Do you use Rhino with a 3Dconnexion space navigator? i'm using it with rhino 7 and just can't get rolling = tilting cap left/right to rotate on Z axis right…do you have an idea?

How to stop gumball from scaling symmetrically? for example if i want to extend a box 1 way it extends it on the other side? how to stop mirror scale in gumball? the ui is so not user friendly unlike revit where i drag a wall to where i want it, instead gumball just scales it symmetrically on both sides

Hi, Justin again. It seems the Gumball orientation and relocation do not work on grouped staffs (If I relocate the Gumball on a group, it reverts back to its initial position. The same is happening while I'm trying to align the Gumball to grouped object)...Do you know any tips or tricks to this problem?

Hi Dean, have you solved this problem? I am new to Rhino and sit with the same issue of the gumball snapping back to it's original location after an extrusion operation.
