Ryan, At 3:30 you select the Right Plane/Front Surface of the "Hammer Head" and describe (and show) getting a Small Orange Arrow to be able to Grab and Drag the Hammer Head left to right while noting the 2.5mm Hole stays in one Place and doesn't move with the body of the Hammer Head because the Sketch is not Fully Defined - I don't get that Small Orange Arrow when I click on the Hammer Head Surface (any of the flat surfaces) What setting needs to be enabled to get that Orange Arrow ?
One of the best training videos series I have ever watched. Very fluid. You are awesome. I will definitely watch the detailed videos on your website. Thank you very much.
You are a great instructor good Sir! Thanks! I was able to follow and digest your tutorial, the reasons of using all the commands covered since the part 1!
Yeah definitely your lessons are valuable. I cant say i am that beginner but i am about to chek all of your lessons from the first one till the end , cos i really want to learn it and i really like that software and i would like much more than surface. Your explanations are fully understandable! You are great instructor :) Keep doing it! Greetings!
Good videos and I was able to remake the part in 2 minutes after following slowly the first time. Only thing is that you originally showed a 10"x10" cube with 1" diameter hole and 1" radius edges, but later changed the cube's dimensions to 10mm while keeping the holes and radii in inches. I'm using 2020 solidworks and I'm also getting lost a bit when you're able to define the handle's dimensions to the edge of the hole when it snaps in place; I had to do that manually like you showed in the last video. Did I do something wrong there?
Both my sketch with the boss-extrude and the sketch of the circle with the cut extrude are fixed yet when I go and cut my plane in half and select top plane and enable sketch and select corner rectangle it will only attempt to snap to origin point and on my model I don't have a mid point or edge point on the half circle like you snapped your too. This results in my new square being under developed and not fix. I don't understand
Hi Aryan, one question how do you move the cube in the minutes 15:32 - 15:44 i like that smoothness, its possible in all versions?. Everything else is superb.Thank you for all your work.
Good day i am a beginner on solid works I am still going trough your videos, is it possible for you to do something on a enclosure as I work for a enclosure company
When trying to follow your steps Ryan I seem to be missing what Plane you are sketching on and my orientation in TriMetric ends up being different - as in: Your extruded example (HammerHead) model is positioned in a view on the Left extruding back (Mid-Plane) to the Right and mine is opposite. Then when I sketch what is to be the Through/both Cut Hole for the handle it is on the side, not the Bottom - Please provide more clarity of what Plane or Surface you are Sketching on so as to be able to follow your example precisely. The confidence gained by seeing my result matching yours can be improved. Otherwise, very clear step-by-step instructions are well followed, and, sometimes experimented with to see what happens "if/when" I try something different depending on what Pop-up options may come up - Still contemplating if I should drop 1K for your full course or not -
at the same time frame, look at the menu up there, there is an option called "instant 3D", that must be active so you can do it. If still not possible, let me know so I tell you where the issue can be
HI this is a really cool video, for me when i tried to create the handle there seems to be a gap between the cut extrude and revolve base on one section.. Any tips here
Thanks Aryan! this is very helpful and i found it in the right time. quick question, for some reason I can select orgin point, I can drag the sketch to orgin but can't select it in any other scenario, any idea what can be the cause?
at 6:23 you click on the bottom left hand corner to move the whole rectangle around. When I click on the lower left hand corner I can only move that one point. Why cant I move the whole rectangle?
Question: why did you placed the circle in the origin when it is a sin to define the entity in the origin 2. If i remove the relation of the circle and origin, how can I relate the circle to the cube
wait what? who ever says it's a sin to place your circle on the origin is following a croocked advice! You should do that as a matter of fact. 2- You can select the midpoint on the edges of your cube and assign Vertical/horizontal relation to your circle, but my recommendation is to stick to the origin
