  • We run you through the best TVs under $1000. TV makers are competing fiercely, and as a result, the best budget TV options look better than ever. When it comes to picking a TV according to budget, you’ll want to weigh your screen size vs. picture quality priorities. You can always get a bigger screen if you’re picture quality standards aren’t too lofty, or, if you have high demands for picture quality, then settling for a smaller screen to meet your budget may be necessary.
All of the TVs on our list have at least very good picture quality, and for a lot of folks, the upgrade to one of these TVs will be pretty substantial, so I think most of you watching this video will be excited by whichever TV you pick.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the comments with tips on watching out for deals on TVs that you caught over the last few weeks! Keep an eye out for some serious price drops around November 11! And more are coming, I suspect! Let me know if there’s anything else of value to add!

If I were in the market for a TV near the $1,000 range, I would rather spend a little more and get an OLED with Sony’s XR Clear Image technology. For instance the 55 inch A75L is showing on Best Buy for $1,199 and the 65 inch for $1,499; and the A80L is only $200 more than the A75L. I guess if you want a much larger size or your space is very bright, then LED might be the way to go. Just another option!

Hello Caleb, I have 4 options for a 75 inch tv In the similar price range. Can you help me select the best bang for buck one out of these.
      Sony X93L
      Samsung S90C
      QN90C
      LG C3.
I want to put this tv up in my living room which is a well lit space. I was also looking at Sony X90L. If I can’t go for these I wanted to go with X90L. Do you think it’s a good choice Outside those 4 options? Do you have any other options in the X90L price range of $1500?

@@LeezahB I just picked up X90L after suffering for 2 weeks with U8K. OMG that sony is such a better tv. The PQ is like Night and Day. It would take a long time for all these review sites to convince me to go Hisense or TCL for a main TV. Honestly if I had to recommend one of those Hisense you'd be better off with a U6 or 7 because U8 isn't much better Might as well save a few bucks. Its disappointing everyone is utting their hype on Nits of brightness. That totally destroys a picture over a 1000 nits . Every with a brain knows this.

I plan on getting the A90J to replace my 55” A8H in our bedroom based on what I need(namely speaker terminals on the A90J). I can move seamlessly between outside antenna and firestick. Just the little things that make this a great buy, at a great price point.

@Jambajakumba well Tbh I didn't have any luck finding a U7K at my Best buy and ended up going with the top dog U8K and it's a phenomenal TV and I'm pretty sure you'll have almost the same experience with a U7K if you pick one up. My only gripes with the TV and I do believe are the same on both TVs would be I'm not a fan of the cheap Remote and the backlight on the remote is so dim and brief it might as well not even be there as for the TV itself I don't like the Google TV UI it's very functional but if you use the Built in apps, it will save it in the background and start getting slow and takes a long time to boot up. So I heavily recommend a Apple TV or some streaming box. But as far as TV's go it blew me away! brightness, colors and speakers are next level and you'd swear it's OLED sometimes it's that good with black levels, so good you can't even tell the TV is on if it's a black screen. The U7K might be slightly worse than the U8K but it's so similar in all theses regards, I hope this helps, let me know if you have any specific questions.

Another great review. I’ve had issues with Vizio and LG tvs in the past so I went back to Sony earlier last year. I had a Sony over 10 years ago and I remember I got it on sale at the NavyExchange on base and sold it 2 years later for the same price I bought it for as I was leaving Hawaii. Is like buying a Honda or Toyota and reselling it years later lol. Anyways, based on this review and the other for the x90l, I went for the Sony 65” since it’s now on sale for $998. I also have the Sony A90J 55” in my master bedroom. So I know the differences between OLED and LED, and let me tell you, this X90L is a great TV. I didn’t go for the mini LED X 93 - 95 L, too heavy and more pricey (so might as well buy another OLED). The tv is also for the living room and I leave my living room tv on for back noise, etc. So, there is the risk of pixel burning if using an OLED. I didn’t really see much difference from the picture quality on the Mini LEDs compared to the x90l. Maybe bcz I am watching from an IPad, either way in person, the Sony X90L is SO MONUMENTAL like Adele would say!

Thanks for this list of great-value TVs for $1000 or less. Recent trends in the TV market seem to be good news / bad news for those of us who may be interested in an LCD display but don't have room for a screen that's larger than 55", because some manufacturers are offering their top-tier LCD models only in screen sizes 65" and above. Fortunately, however, the OLED and QD-OLED TVs with the best overall picture quality still include 55" models in their lineup. Since I'm saving money by purchasing a smaller screen, I think I can afford to spend a little extra and invest in one of the top-tier OLED or QD-OLED TVs rather than compromising on a second-tier LCD model. That would be my personal preference, though other buyers may have different needs.

Best Buy has a 48” A2 for $549 right now. I bought one for our bedroom last year and are very happy with it for watching TV. Not a gamer, so the lack of HDMI 2.1 and the 60hz refresh is not an issue.
Has a really beautiful picture, and this coming from someone who has had a Pioneer Kuro plasma for many years now. BTW, it still works great, and every time I turn it on I’m still amazed at the picture quality!

@@johncox4273 I have a relative who is the owner of 2 LG OLED TVs purchased a few years ago (one of these TVs is the very last 1080p OLED model that LG produced, so it has been around for quite a while, now) and both these TVs are still working perfectly. I've concluded that LG builds their TVs to last a long time, which is a feature I appreciate. As you have pointed out, LG OLEDs offer good bang-for-the-buck value. Believe it or not, I'm still watching a plasma TV from 2014, and I will probably keep it until it "gives up the ghost". I still enjoy my plasma TV, but I look forward to making the upgrade to 4K OLED eventually...

Hey skip Q70C for sure. The Q70C does -NOT have local dimming. The whole reason to buy QLED or MINI LED. Also it will have blooming , its still great panel but thats a 2010 flagship technology type of thing. U7K ALL d way. It has very close visual to S95B but just bit dimmer but still 1200peak brightness (tested) brighter than S90C. Like it’s NO fail panel. MINI LED. Q70C is very generic QLED. It’s prob a “premium “ in 2016 2017 type of thing. But def falling short. It’s not mini led. U7K is mini led, VA 120hz, BETTER Speakers with subwoofers. I cant explain. Like if u get 65” sound so good. I have picky ears cuz i had 12 BOSE speakers in my car. N Hisense tv speaker are SO good i never got a sound bar. I tried to check , yes the $900 SONOs ARC n BOSE900 did sound better, but matching. The tv u need like $500-600 speakers (still lack of base) just to match. There was no point. A lot of ppl like brag” I have sound bar”. There ppl HATE sound bar, awkward more wire more annoyance. It’s slowly phasing out when ppl like easy setup for clean condos. Yeah like once I got an INFINITI with 12 BOSE speakers, all I care about next CAR is “does it have good speakers” lol…the HP no matter d ONLY thing i care lol. I cant explain. U7K wil have VERY good speakers

The QM8 vs U8k debate to me has to go to the QM8.
The picture is a hair better. Better brights, better darks. Better tone mapping. And the 2 hdmi 2.1 ports are separate from the eARC port. Which is a must.
