I stopped playing the game about a month ago because I just don’t enjoy it. I still watch your videos though, because I’ve always watched your battlefield content. I started watching back in the battlefield 3 days and you’ve always represented my love of the franchise. I wish I could enjoy the 2042 like you do, but I respect the fact that you genuinely like playing. Hopefully the game turns around, and I’ll be watching even if it doesn’t. Appreciate your honesty and hope you can continue doing what you love doing.
I'm in a similar holding pattern. I'm planning on going back to it when more content drops in March (if the speculation is true). Hopefully things will turn around by then.
Ya. I Stopped 2 TO 3 Months ago it's just like playing Battlefield 3 and 4 upgrade and everything is smaller and weak the Vehicles just suck you can't do much or fix the Vehicles on your own the moment you get hit you barely could get away. And I see players play more the older games on Portal . I would love to see Bad Company 3 , wheres that Franchise.
Except peoples hatred for BF2042 isn't just the bugs like it was for BF4, its the whole design choices and the unapologetic monetization of mechanics that have no place in a BF title. DICE and EA created BF2042 to milk BF fans for money, not for the love of the franchise.
There’s also the “EA sucks regardless” trope that didn’t exist as it does now. They’ve done it to themselves, no doubt, but it took a long time for even a game like Apex to climb out of that hole.
Battlefield 4 may have had a rough launch, but I still loved it from day1 and never gave up on it.....because the concept and mechanics of the game was still good. It's not about the bugs for me, it's about the experience as a whole, and 2042 just doesn't have it.
I can't help but see 2042 as a trend chaser with "mandatory addiction or miss" battle pass b.s. for goofy skins I don't even want to see in game nevermind own myself. It's like battlefield is turning into cod or that kiddy fortnite game
It's such a shame DICE messed this up big time. This was the perfect year to make a big comeback considering Vanguard isn't very succesfull either. They should have played it a bit more safe and stayed very true to the fundamentals of Battlefield.
Every Battlefield has launched like crap and took 6-12 months to fix on average . The only difference in 2042 besides moronic bad takes is 2042 was new everything, team, engine , design philosophy, goals whereas the older games were the same game breaking problems every game by same team on the same engine every damn time . 2042 is at the moment fastest game in franchise in terms of fixed to playable for most players before the holiday break Dice took . Bf4 took 5 months to be semi stable
@@DarkepyonX its shit man. The difference is that BF4 had technical bugs that could be fixed. BF2042’s biggest issue is its core gameplay/structure which CANNOT be fixed by patches. Just face the music 2042 is just not a good game. Of course it’ll become playable eventually that’s not in question. But that’s not the point. Everyone stopped playing it not because of its bugs but because its just not an enjoyable game. The game actually ran pretty good on my Series X but i stopped playing it because its so damn boring. I hope it becomes successful due to my love of BF but this game failing is awesome, shows EA and DICE this half-assed bullshit wont be tolerated.

They always seem to mess up when CoD drops the ball. I think it was CoD: Ghosts that came out against BF4 and Ghosts got a lukewarm reception and BF4 released in shit shape. Then Battlefield 1 came out against CoD Infinite Warfare and BlOps3 and people were pissed because BF went to WW1 when people wanted modern. Then they did it again with BF V which had a disastrous launch as well when COD dropped BlOps4. Truth told, they really aren’t competitors in the strictest sense. People who love CoD love it and don’t tend to love BF. People who love BF tend not to love CoD or if they do, they love both depending on mood.
@@DarkepyonX very much true. I will give Dice credit there. They seemed to have designed ways to quickly respond and fix things that weren’t there previously. They can turn off XP for something that’s broken to deter its use quickly and turn it back on after hotfixing. We have never seen them react so quickly.

It's because of the ease with which you can find a person that agrees with you, prior to the internet there wasn't the plethora of choice/ voices. Now people seek out the voice that echoes their point of view and develop an intolerance to those that differ in their sentiments. Hopefully it's a phase we're collectively going through as we get to grips with the internet.
Battlefield used to be ahead of it's time. I turned on battlefield 4 and was blown away with the graphics, destruction, sound and map design. Dice used to have passion in designing games not to make a quick buck, but to compete as the best shooter. It amazes me that I can turn on battlefield 4 today, and still question that it was released 8 years ago. When I turn on 2042 I expected it to be that game that I come back to 8 years from now . Sadly the reason I stopped playing is because we deserve better.
When a developer asks us to be the alpha testers for $100 dollars they deserve the toxic hate. They brought it upon themselves. I’m glad the community is this pissed off.
it's not about shaming people who enjoy the game, it's about people who support unethical practices like pre orders and releases of unfinished products at retail prices and such.
People who support the "Unethical Practices" are clearly a very sizeable part of the market, or the trends would have shifted decades ago. I'm not trying to be combative, but you really need to understand that the "passion" avid gamers show for games, the E3 Goers etc... is a very, very minor part of the market. The expectation that the average consumer has is simply much different from what you have described here. And while I think you have a point, and that the point comes from a good place, there are simply way more serious causes that most people take up , over retail practices in gaming. The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of the Market is Bill Billson a 35 year old father of two, he comes in once or twice a year, buys the COD/BF(whatever) game it is because for him, and the majority of folks gaming isn't a lifestyle, gaming is something he does with the boys for a couple of hours every weekend when he sends the kids off to soccer practice, and his wife off to brunch. And Bills of the world kinda just ... don't really care.

I’ves been playing since the official launch. The game does have some bugs that suck but seem fixable, the main issue I have is the lack of maps. Everything else is fricking fun, bugs and all.

I haven't played a BF game since BF4. Still, I am an avid LCG fan. I love watching his videos. LCG is incredibly straight forward, articulate, and his gameplay is always fun to watch. You don't get content that is this cut and dry anymore.

Can totally relate. I passed on BF2042 but there's been plenty of other games with mediocre sequels or terrible patches that I kept playing because there's just something unique about the gameplay that I still craved despite the issues. Don't understand how some people can't grasp that concept.
Same here. For me it usually has to do with the lore of a game. After 5 years you'd think I'd be burnt out on Warframe, but something about it just keeps bringing me back.

I agree, the game needs work and there are certain features that I would like to see in 2042 what were present in past BF games, but to call 2042 unplayable and absolutely broken beyond repair because it doesn't currently have a standard scoreboard? I don't get it. Your parallel to BF4 was spot-on. That game was a shitshow when it first launched - definitely worse than 2042. Most BF fans now claim BF4 was one of, if not the, best game in the franchise. There's no reason why 2042 can't repeat the same thing. Is it unfortunate that the game launched in the state it did? Of course. Does that mean the game is forever ruined and we should all abandon the franchise? Definitely not.
I honestly love 2042. I’m disappointed how the game turned out, with the lack of content and such, but the game feels so good to me. I love the movement, the hud, the weather system and how it interacts with the hud, the gunplay, and so much more. I get the gripes with it, but I just can’t get over liking the game XD
The trend of hate is real. My rig can run the game just fine and I’m enjoying the game. I notice the bugs and glitches of course but I am having fun with the game and that’s all I care about. I won’t quit just because everyone else is. Some people just can’t think for themselves

Yet now people are using it as an example of what this game is missing. The devs are making mistakes.. sure! The people criticizing him for playing a game the internet has deemed bad are the same type of people who criticized you for liking the Star Wars prequels. Is 2042 in a tumultuous state? Yes. Nobody is denying that fact. It needs a lot of work and DICE needs to communicate more for what they plan to do for the game and the community down the road. Should we be shaming people trying to make the best of a bad situation? Absolutly not! I think there is a great Battlefield game buried beneath 2042's current state. I don't think we are going to get a better version of 2042 by hating on everyone who's trying to enjoy it.
Honest Fan BF2042 is a poorly made product, it’s imbalanced and lacking in content compared to its competitors in the market. The prequals were poorly made films with bad direction, weak motivations, stale camera work, and was vastly inferior to other sci-fi epics and big budget franchisees. You can like these things, but that doesn’t mean they are good products.
I'm with you on this one. I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 first came out and I was so blown away. I've kept up playing every single title that has come out and loved every single one...even the not so great ones (Vietnam), but I must say that even with all the flaws of 2042, I am legitimately having fun playing this game. Hell, I even like the 128 player modes. Maybe it's a bias, but as gamers we play what we like. We all have that one odd ball game that has become a guilty pleasure and won't admit to our friends we play. So you do you.
The most disappointing thing about this game isn't the bugs its the lack of content. All other BF were buggy but at least had good maps and gameplay, this game has nothing.

You're a genuinely good person LevelCap, and your mild temperament is one of your greatest strengths. All of your points are 100% valid, and I think you are more than entitled to keep playing. For me, I am very disappointed in the game primarily because of the design direction and the lack of so many features, especially as I pre-ordered the Gold edition because I was so hopelessly optimistic. I am frustrated to the point where I really want EA to hurt financially for taking a game and formula I have enjoyed for well over a decade and turning it into something that looks like a desperate grab at the success of other games. That leads me to want less content created about it because I want it to have as little help as possible. That doesn't mean I condemn you in any way, I want you to do what you love and not be ashamed for it. My displeasure simply would rather see EA experience as much pain from this launch as possible. The coverage of this in particular battlefield on TH-cam vs the actual experience while playing the game has really been eye opening for me. I’ve lost a lot of trust in some youtubers who are clearing farming hate watchers And probably haven’t played the game.
Titles such as "THIS GAME IS UTTERLY UNPLAYABLE, WTF DICE!!" then when I go onto the game I get past the menu no problem and into a game within 2 minutes. Yeah... truly unplayable.
I like bf2042 but how many times can EA/Dice get away with selling unfinished watered down products? I absolutely love BF but it's just not acceptable after the launch of Battlefront 2, Battlefield V and now battlefield 2042. Don't get me wrong battlefront 2 is an amazing game imo, but the launch was terrible.

Dude battlefield 4 launched nearly 8 years ago and somehow after all these years we keep getting bugier games with less content and broken promises. However, for 2042 they're faulty launches have far more to do with than simple bugs. There's a serious miss on the approach dice took with the game. Which led to a product with significant under developed qaulities. I can udnersand standing up against hate, but you need to be objective about these details and not simply dismiss the concerns fans have for the game.
I find this game fun even with its flaws. Sometimes I feel as though too many people profit from dunking on thing on TH-cam that it incentivizes them to make videos on new stuff making fun of it cause it’s easy. I know too many people who hate the game and never played it, but every friend I have that does play it has fun. We as a community need to get back into making genuine reviews rather than almost exclusively hateful videos. Example: when was the last time you saw a video with a great review on a game? It’s been a while
Yeah I'm having a blast with this game. Almost quit a few times though but a few of the patches corrected things. The last patch has caused the game to crash a lot. Must have been a server issue because I haven't seen it crash in the past week. But yeah, really loving the game right now just kind of hungry for content.
I keep having to remind myself this generation of gamers has practically no skin defense on hurt feelings. Coddle the next great generation. FYI...we are currently in a second space race.
Negative content is very popular and profitable on TH-cam, same as it is in other media. It's an issue that has unfortunately been around for a very long time.

Many things ticked me off about this game and this things were either fixed, not that serious or I found a way around them (spawning outside next to enemy vehicles). But I understand the specialist issue however I cannot imagine being mad for almost two months straight.

lets be honest boys , if you have watched him before he reached 100k subs . you would clearly see the change his channel underwent once it started to blow up . he didnt give his real opinion he became a promoting channel with only positivity cause that attracts the most audience . and then after hyping it up for 5 months we will get a video saying he didnt love it completely . which is called damage control . besides all that is a good channel to keep up with game changes but to expect to get a real opinion ,,, you wont find it here in the first 5 months of a release
As atrocious as some of the design choices for this game were (specialists), I still can often have a bit of fun with this game and I think it has much more potential than people give it credit for, I’ve never seen such a vicious hate train for a game before and I definitely get and agree with most of the main criticisms, but for anyone who can enjoy this game they shouldn’t be ridiculed for it

I play battlefield 2042 all the time and yes there is a few bags but that’s with any game. and I incredibly love the game and especially the vehicles I do not know why the Internet has deemed as “unplayable” when lots of people including myself love the game!
OK, Can someone explain, if you you have to disclosure your relations with EA, how BF2042 got all those 10 out of 10 from various gaming sites and reviewers? Also about "enjoying something other people hate". I played a lot of controversial games, games could be fun even with all issues plaguing them (DayZ, Ark, Tarkov, etc.), but all of them have their audience, diehard one actually. BF2042 is just friggin dead. For AAA game it's just dead. It means game have objectively nothing to offer to players. Also focusing so much on pointing technical issues is pretense - it's not BF2042 main problem. Technical issues can't be deal it. Most of BF2042 actual issues - cannot.
a number of reasons can be the answer. those game reviewers probably have really good rigs and maybe just didnt have technical issues so that aspect of the game didnt bother them. describing something as "dead" these days really means nothing as the term has been so overused to the point anyone using it is just honestly laughable. New World is "dead" but still garners quite a few players but is losing players at a very steady decline so "dying" could be more appropriate and that applies to this game as well. this game ,whether you want to believe it or not , is in a somewhat steady playable state but the problems the people have with it are just design choices which have to be corrected with time, time that will inevitably cause many players to slowly stop playing at least until more content is added to the game which looks to be in the summer
started playing Squad a few years ago, never looked back. It offers the realistic, gritty, large scale combat experience that battlefield hasn't even been close to for a decade.
Personally, I’ve appreciated your continuing coverage of the game, especially of the behind the scenes stuff at DICE like high-level position changes. Felt it’s been quite informative, and somewhat revealing about the game’s development.
Here's my issue with how LevelCap and others in the community treat Bf2042s problems. Yes yes yes, we get it, BF4 and others also had launch issues bla bla bla, that is not the main problem with 2042. The main problem is, that the game in it's core is just a bad clone of a battlefield game. The maps are atrocious and won't be improved upon much. Specialists have no place in the main game and again, that won't change even in two years time, when the game hopefully will be bug free. Yes bugs and missing features will be worked on in the months to come, but the underlying bad game design will not change, so please for the love of god, stop using other bad launches as a metric! The issues these games had are not the same! Yes BF4 and BFV had major issues at launch, but in it's core, they were good battlefield games. BF2042 is not!
It is the same metric because no matter what Dice puts out every game people will complain because its Dice/EA hate train. People complained about the same formula they used since the inception of battlefeild.

I would be surprised any content gets dropped for BF2042 at least point, for all we know the game is probably for the most part shelved now with a steam player count of 4.6k at this time this quickly after release
Great video and for what it’s worth, I’m in the same camp. As a lifelong BF fan, I 100% agree with the majority of the complaints but I’m still enjoying the heck out of this. I’m hoping they don’t abandon 2042 altogether and continue iterating because there still a chance to flip this into a more complete package. That’s said, EA/DICE needs to learn from these mistakes but the unfortunate reality is they won’t until it hits their wallets… Look, gaming is a copycat league and I don’t completely fault them for trying to publish a game that follows current trends and caters to the masses. Anyway, don’t be mad, this is just how it works out sometimes.

Thanks for being transparent, even though you are just a gaming channel, some people hold you to a much higher standard. For some of us, BF Is our one and only escape, and the happiness in our lives depends on it. So it's easy to see how such wild accusations are being thrown in all directions.
I have not as many technical issues either. Some things are ofc buggy like in every BF but that's not the point that makes me dislike the game. The Problem for me is honsetly just the fact that EVERY Feature in 2042 has been better in at least one previous BF game (or just got removed entirely). There is not a single thing in the game that is an improvement. Most things are in fact straight up downgrades even from 10+ years old games. And if we talk about new features like specialists or 128 players. I was totally open for it but is just doesn't work very well. I would never blame someone for having fun with 2042 but the old BF games got polished over the years and still play very well. So there is no reason for me to play 2042 right now. I might come back if they fixed the game but at this point I just don't see it. In BF4 it was all technical issues at the start and some weird balancing. That are all things that can be fixed and they did even if it took them over a year. But the weird design choices they made for 2042 and stuff like these abysmal maps are just not that easy to fix. As much as I like the BF series I think the game is dead for me and will remain as my worst BF experience in history. All I can do is waiting for the next BF game and hope for it being a good game again.... Just one more thing: I remember some interviews back in the days of BF3 were Devs explained their design choices. Why did we do it like this? Why is the map how it is? They analized gameflows, balancing and user experience. They said 100+ players would totally be possible with Frostbite 2 but they kept the 64 as max players because it was just not fun with too many people on the battlefield. In fact in their studies they learned the sweet spot was around 40 players for the best gameplay experience. That might be a reason why rush is so god damn awesome in BC2. Back in the days they thought about maps, modes, player count and everything else until it was the most fun. It would be really interesting to know why they made these design choices in 2042. What were they thinking?
That's the thing some ppl aren't getting! Ppl assume it's just a "hate train" but in all reality BF42 is such a damn downgrade of previous battlefields. :/ Well it's all been going downhill quite some time for dice, sadly.

I stopped playing the game about a month ago because I just don’t enjoy it. I still watch your videos though, because I’ve always watched your battlefield content. I started watching back in the battlefield 3 days and you’ve always represented my love of the franchise. I wish I could enjoy the 2042 like you do, but I respect the fact that you genuinely like playing. Hopefully the game turns around, and I’ll be watching even if it doesn’t. Appreciate your honesty and hope you can continue doing what you love doing.

I Stopped 2 TO 3 Months ago it's just like playing Battlefield 3 and 4 upgrade and everything is smaller and weak the Vehicles just suck you can't do much or fix the Vehicles on your own the moment you get hit you barely could get away. And I see players play more the older games on Portal . I would love to see Bad Company 3 , wheres that Franchise.

Except peoples hatred for BF2042 isn't just the bugs like it was for BF4, its the whole design choices and the unapologetic monetization of mechanics that have no place in a BF title. DICE and EA created BF2042 to milk BF fans for money, not for the love of the franchise.

Battlefield 4 may have had a rough launch, but I still loved it from day1 and never gave up on it.....because the concept and mechanics of the game was still good. It's not about the bugs for me, it's about the experience as a whole, and 2042 just doesn't have it.

It's such a shame DICE messed this up big time. This was the perfect year to make a big comeback considering Vanguard isn't very succesfull either. They should have played it a bit more safe and stayed very true to the fundamentals of Battlefield.
Every Battlefield has launched like crap and took 6-12 months to fix on average . The only difference in 2042 besides moronic bad takes is 2042 was new everything, team, engine , design philosophy, goals whereas the older games were the same game breaking problems every game by same team on the same engine every damn time . 2042 is at the moment fastest game in franchise in terms of fixed to playable for most players before the holiday break Dice took . Bf4 took 5 months to be semi stable
@@DarkepyonX its shit man. The difference is that BF4 had technical bugs that could be fixed. BF2042’s biggest issue is its core gameplay/structure which CANNOT be fixed by patches. Just face the music 2042 is just not a good game. Of course it’ll become playable eventually that’s not in question. But that’s not the point. Everyone stopped playing it not because of its bugs but because its just not an enjoyable game. The game actually ran pretty good on my Series X but i stopped playing it because its so damn boring. I hope it becomes successful due to my love of BF but this game failing is awesome, shows EA and DICE this half-assed bullshit wont be tolerated.

They always seem to mess up when CoD drops the ball. I think it was CoD: Ghosts that came out against BF4 and Ghosts got a lukewarm reception and BF4 released in shit shape. Then Battlefield 1 came out against CoD Infinite Warfare and BlOps3 and people were pissed because BF went to WW1 when people wanted modern. Then they did it again with BF V which had a disastrous launch as well when COD dropped BlOps4. Truth told, they really aren’t competitors in the strictest sense. People who love CoD love it and don’t tend to love BF. People who love BF tend not to love CoD or if they do, they love both depending on mood.
@@DarkepyonX very much true. I will give Dice credit there. They seemed to have designed ways to quickly respond and fix things that weren’t there previously. They can turn off XP for something that’s broken to deter its use quickly and turn it back on after hotfixing. We have never seen them react so quickly.

This was me with Anthem. It felt like the entire world was yelling at me for liking it and playing it but I had an amazing 500 hours in that game.

It's because of the ease with which you can find a person that agrees with you, prior to the internet there wasn't the plethora of choice/ voices. Now people seek out the voice that echoes their point of view and develop an intolerance to those that differ in their sentiments. Hopefully it's a phase we're collectively going through as we get to grips with the internet.
Battlefield used to be ahead of it's time. I turned on battlefield 4 and was blown away with the graphics, destruction, sound and map design. Dice used to have passion in designing games not to make a quick buck, but to compete as the best shooter. It amazes me that I can turn on battlefield 4 today, and still question that it was released 8 years ago. When I turn on 2042 I expected it to be that game that I come back to 8 years from now . Sadly the reason I stopped playing is because we deserve better.
When a developer asks us to be the alpha testers for $100 dollars they deserve the toxic hate. They brought it upon themselves. I’m glad the community is this pissed off.
it's not about shaming people who enjoy the game, it's about people who support unethical practices like pre orders and releases of unfinished products at retail prices and such.
People who support the "Unethical Practices" are clearly a very sizeable part of the market, or the trends would have shifted decades ago. I'm not trying to be combative, but you really need to understand that the "passion" avid gamers show for games, the E3 Goers etc... is a very, very minor part of the market.
The expectation that the average consumer has is simply much different from what you have described here. And while I think you have a point, and that the point comes from a good place, there are simply way more serious causes that most people take up , over retail practices in gaming.
The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of the Market is Bill Billson a 35 year old father of two, he comes in once or twice a year, buys the COD/BF(whatever) game it is because for him, and the majority of folks gaming isn't a lifestyle, gaming is something he does with the boys for a couple of hours every weekend when he sends the kids off to soccer practice, and his wife off to brunch. And Bills of the world kinda just ... don't really care.

The game does have some bugs that suck but seem fixable, the main issue I have is the lack of maps. Everything else is fricking fun, bugs and all.

Battlefield 4 had stats, scoreboard, and voip at launch. Can't really compare the two. There's a reason why the comunity is outraged when we were lied to like the game is ahead of schedule.

I haven't played a BF game since BF4. Still, I am an avid LCG fan. I love watching his videos. LCG is incredibly straight forward, articulate, and his gameplay is always fun to watch. You don't get content that is this cut and dry anymore.
You should try BF1. I only tried it a few months ago, and it's quite good.

Can totally relate. I passed on BF2042 but there's been plenty of other games with mediocre sequels or terrible patches that I kept playing because there's just something unique about the gameplay that I still craved despite the issues. Don't understand how some people can't grasp that concept.

Very much agree. Reddit and other social media give a horrible viewpoint of the game - much like they do to other real-world events. I agree, the game needs work and there are certain features that I would like to see in 2042 what were present in past BF games, but to call 2042 unplayable and absolutely broken beyond repair because it doesn't currently have a standard scoreboard? I don't get it.
Your parallel to BF4 was spot-on. That game was a shitshow when it first launched - definitely worse than 2042. Most BF fans now claim BF4 was one of, if not the, best game in the franchise. There's no reason why 2042 can't repeat the same thing. Is it unfortunate that the game launched in the state it did? Of course. Does that mean the game is forever ruined and we should all abandon the franchise? Definitely not.
I honestly love 2042. I’m disappointed how the game turned out, with the lack of content and such, but the game feels so good to me. I love the movement, the hud, the weather system and how it interacts with the hud, the gunplay, and so much more. I get the gripes with it, but I just can’t get over liking the game XD

The trend of hate is real. My rig can run the game just fine and I’m enjoying the game. I notice the bugs and glitches of course but I am having fun with the game and that’s all I care about. I won’t quit just because everyone else is. Some people just can’t think for themselves

The people criticizing him for playing a game the internet has deemed bad are the same type of people who criticized you for liking the Star Wars prequels. Is 2042 in a tumultuous state? Yes. Nobody is denying that fact. It needs a lot of work and DICE needs to communicate more for what they plan to do for the game and the community down the road. Should we be shaming people trying to make the best of a bad situation? Absolutly not!
I think there is a great Battlefield game buried beneath 2042's current state. I don't think we are going to get a better version of 2042 by hating on everyone who's trying to enjoy it.

Honest Fan BF2042 is a poorly made product, it’s imbalanced and lacking in content compared to its competitors in the market. The prequals were poorly made films with bad direction, weak motivations, stale camera work, and was vastly inferior to other sci-fi epics and big budget franchisees. You can like these things, but that doesn’t mean they are good products.
I'm with you on this one. I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 first came out and I was so blown away. I've kept up playing every single title that has come out and loved every single one...even the not so great ones (Vietnam), but I must say that even with all the flaws of 2042, I am legitimately having fun playing this game. Hell, I even like the 128 player modes. Maybe it's a bias, but as gamers we play what we like. We all have that one odd ball game that has become a guilty pleasure and won't admit to our friends we play. So you do you.

You're a genuinely good person LevelCap, and your mild temperament is one of your greatest strengths. All of your points are 100% valid, and I think you are more than entitled to keep playing. For me, I am very disappointed in the game primarily because of the design direction and the lack of so many features, especially as I pre-ordered the Gold edition because I was so hopelessly optimistic. I am frustrated to the point where I really want EA to hurt financially for taking a game and formula I have enjoyed for well over a decade and turning it into something that looks like a desperate grab at the success of other games. That leads me to want less content created about it because I want it to have as little help as possible. That doesn't mean I condemn you in any way, I want you to do what you love and not be ashamed for it. My displeasure simply would rather see EA experience as much pain from this launch as possible.

The coverage of this in particular battlefield on TH-cam vs the actual experience while playing the game has really been eye opening for me. I’ve lost a lot of trust in some youtubers who are clearing farming hate watchers And probably haven’t played the game.
Titles such as "THIS GAME IS UTTERLY UNPLAYABLE, WTF DICE!!" then when I go onto the game I get past the menu no problem and into a game within 2 minutes.

Fans are making servers with full HUD but 3-4x damage multiplier and 64 players. The game plays much better this way. Try it out!

However, for 2042 they're faulty launches have far more to do with than simple bugs. There's a serious miss on the approach dice took with the game. Which led to a product with significant under developed qaulities.
I can udnersand standing up against hate, but you need to be objective about these details and not simply dismiss the concerns fans have for the game.
I find this game fun even with its flaws. Sometimes I feel as though too many people profit from dunking on thing on TH-cam that it incentivizes them to make videos on new stuff making fun of it cause it’s easy. I know too many people who hate the game and never played it, but every friend I have that does play it has fun. We as a community need to get back into making genuine reviews rather than almost exclusively hateful videos. Example: when was the last time you saw a video with a great review on a game? Yeah I'm having a blast with this game. Almost quit a few times though but a few of the patches corrected things. The last patch has caused the game to crash a lot. Must have been a server issue because I haven't seen it crash in the past week. But yeah, really loving the game right now just kind of hungry for content.
I keep having to remind myself this generation of gamers has practically no skin defense on hurt feelings. Coddle the next great generation. FYI...we are currently in a second space race.

Many things ticked me off about this game and this things were either fixed, not that serious or I found a way around them (spawning outside next to enemy vehicles). As atrocious as some of the design choices for this game were (specialists), I still can often have a bit of fun with this game and I think it has much more potential than people give it credit for, I’ve never seen such a vicious hate train for a game before and I definitely get and agree with most of the main criticisms, but for anyone who can enjoy this game they shouldn’t be ridiculed for it

I play battlefield 2042 all the time and yes there is a few bags but that’s with any game. and I incredibly love the game and especially the vehicles I do not know why the Internet has deemed as “unplayable” when lots of people including myself love the game!
OK, Can someone explain, if you you have to disclosure your relations with EA, how BF2042 got all those 10 out of 10 from various gaming sites and reviewers? Also about "enjoying something other people hate". I played a lot of controversial games, games could be fun even with all issues plaguing them (DayZ, Ark, Tarkov, etc.), but all of them have their audience, diehard one actually. BF2042 is just friggin dead. For AAA game it's just dead. It means game have objectively nothing to offer to players. Also focusing so much on pointing technical issues is pretense - it's not BF2042 main problem. Technical issues can't be deal it. Most of BF2042 actual issues - cannot.
a number of reasons can be the answer. those game reviewers probably have really good rigs and maybe just didnt have technical issues so that aspect of the game didnt bother them. describing something as "dead" these days really means nothing as the term has been so overused to the point anyone using it is just honestly laughable. New World is "dead" but still garners quite a few players but is losing players at a very steady decline so "dying" could be more appropriate and that applies to this game as well.
this game ,whether you want to believe it or not , is in a somewhat steady playable state but the problems the people have with it are just design choices which have to be corrected with time, time that will inevitably cause many players to slowly stop playing at least until more content is added to the game which looks to be in the summer

Here's my issue with how LevelCap and others in the community treat Bf2042s problems.
Yes yes yes, we get it, BF4 and others also had launch issues bla bla bla, that is not the main problem with 2042. The main problem is, that the game in it's core is just a bad clone of a battlefield game. The maps are atrocious and won't be improved upon much. Specialists have no place in the main game and again, that won't change even in two years time, when the game hopefully will be bug free.
Yes bugs and missing features will be worked on in the months to come, but the underlying bad game design will not change, so please for the love of god, stop using other bad launches as a metric! The issues these games had are not the same! Yes BF4 and BFV had major issues at launch, but in it's core, they were good battlefield games. BF2042 is not!
It is the same metric because no matter what Dice puts out every game people will complain because its Dice/EA hate train. People complained about the same formula they used since the inception of battlefeild.

Great video and for what it’s worth, I’m in the same camp. As a lifelong BF fan, I 100% agree with the majority of the complaints but I’m still enjoying the heck out of this. I’m hoping they don’t abandon 2042 altogether and continue iterating because there still a chance to flip this into a more complete package. That’s said, EA/DICE needs to learn from these mistakes but the unfortunate reality is they won’t until it hits their wallets… Look, gaming is a copycat league and I don’t completely fault them for trying to publish a game that follows current trends and caters to the masses. Anyway, don’t be mad, this is just how it works out sometimes.

Thanks for being transparent, even though you are just a gaming channel, some people hold you to a much higher standard. For some of us, BF Is our one and only escape, and the happiness in our lives depends on it. So it's easy to see how such wild accusations are being thrown in all directions.
I have not as many technical issues either. Some things are ofc buggy like in every BF but that's not the point that makes me dislike the game.
The Problem for me is honsetly just the fact that EVERY Feature in 2042 has been better in at least one previous BF game (or just got removed entirely). There is not a single thing in the game that is an improvement. Most things are in fact straight up downgrades even from 10+ years old games.
And if we talk about new features like specialists or 128 players. I was totally open for it but is just doesn't work very well.
I would never blame someone for having fun with 2042 but the old BF games got polished over the years and still play very well. So there is no reason for me to play 2042 right now.
I might come back if they fixed the game but at this point I just don't see it.
In BF4 it was all technical issues at the start and some weird balancing. That are all things that can be fixed and they did even if it took them over a year.
But the weird design choices they made for 2042 and stuff like these abysmal maps are just not that easy to fix.
As much as I like the BF series I think the game is dead for me and will remain as my worst BF experience in history.
All I can do is waiting for the next BF game and hope for it being a good game again....
Just one more thing:
I remember some interviews back in the days of BF3 were Devs explained their design choices. Why did we do it like this? Why is the map how it is?
They analized gameflows, balancing and user experience. They said 100+ players would totally be possible with Frostbite 2 but they kept the 64 as max players because it was just not fun with too many people on the battlefield. In fact in their studies they learned the sweet spot was around 40 players for the best gameplay experience. That might be a reason why rush is so god damn awesome in BC2. Back in the days they thought about maps, modes, player count and everything else until it was the most fun.
It would be really interesting to know why they made these design choices in 2042. What were they thinking?
