Sorry, perhaps I should have said that a little better. It did sound entitled the way I explained it in the video. She just knew that I would have loved to have finished the whole room, but I couldn't get to that side of the bed without moving the mattress. I was coming back over anyway to help with other stuff and she asked if I wanted to finish that room since they had gotten rid of the mattress. I know the floors, in particular, are what gives her the most anxiety because it's where the carpet beetles are, so I was more than happy to finish that for her. She is still pulling herself out of the dark hole she has been in for years, so it's a big deal that she is even working on cleaning up the rest of the house. I just wanted to help in any way I could. I'm so sorry about your cancer. I know chemo can take a toll on your body for years after. I hope you get the help you need!

Watching this gave me a throw back to when I’d help my kids get their rooms clean. I too go through each little piece of toy or game on the floors and weed out the garbage. This is amazing.... you've got a heart of gold. Do you ever sit down with owners after you're done and give them some tips and tricks that will help them KEEP it clean once you're done? I'd love to see a list of suggestions you have for people at the end of the videos (selfishly, I think it might help me at MY house!).
Thanks for this suggestion, Jason. I love getting feedback like this so I have some ideas on what to focus on in future videos. For this house specifically, I think years of depression and then anxiety led to it getting this bad and just needed someone to help her get things back under control, but she has been slowly working on the other rooms in her house, so I do have hope that she will keep it in order once it's finally back to a livable state. I do think it would be worthwhile to go over some of those things on how to keep it up with other homeowners though. Thanks again for this suggestion! And I appreciate you watching!
@@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp One idea I had for some of the homes you go to, if the person has trouble or anxiety cleaning, was to wash one smaller item with them, like a microwave. If no one has ever show you how to clean it, it could seem enormous and make you anxious and you'd avoid it. But if after cleaning your home, the person sat down with you and you did it, you would feel the peace and cleanliness, the pride and dopamine, the anxiety would be gone and you would know how to do it the next time. Also leaving them many bin bags and cleaning products. Unrequired comment but I love your videos :)
@@mailys012 I think that's a great idea! The mom in this particular case has been working really hard on the rest of her house. Every time I go there I tell her how proud of her I am because I know how difficult it is for her. She has come a long way! The house I have been cleaning at this past week, I have had the children sit down and organize some stuff and the parents have also been going through bins of stuff while I'm there and even between my visits, so I am trying to teach and pass along tips. I do love the idea of cleaning a microwave together though...or an oven! Thanks for the idea!

I used to do house cleaning. It’s a tough job. As a mother of 4 I’ve learned that in bedrooms only keep their beds, clothes & game systems. Everything else is kept in living room to help keep things organized.
Bonnie, the Nerf dart count just cracked me up so much! My cat used to love playing w those things, and would "help" me corral them when my son was that age. Y'know, now that my son is grown and that cat is long gone, I kind of maybe miss finding them all over the house.
There's a group of Asian cleaners that I see sometimes. I can't say where exactly they're from because I don't read their language and they don't offer translations. But they do top to bottom cleans that are nothing short of amazing.

Ha! I remember when my kids were little and they shared a room. Finding the floor was a weekly chore until I started buying crates with labels and then I would threaten them that if it was left on the floor it was tossed. Today they both have good work ethics and keep tidy homes. Now I babysit my only grandchild and I am back to organizing countless toys.😂 Loving it though, I retired to care for her. I worked in a preschool for 30 years and when the pandemic came and we had to teach from home (I was the helper, not the teacher) I did 117 videos, usually 8 minutes or less and I know about getting better. But yours look professional from the get go. My saving grace was that my audience was 4 years old and they are very accepting and forgiving at that age. You are doing great.🙂
Some kids have WAY TOO MUCH STUFF!!!! Then they don't remember what they have and everything becomes so disorganized. When new toys come in, toys need to leave and be donated.

You're doing a GREAT job. I don't blame it all on the kids, I blame the PARENTS that their rooms look like this. Pure LAZINESS on their part. If the mom calls you back just to clean under the bed, that PROVES RIGHT what I wrote. I don't see any clothes in the closet. That means they are just all filthy and just probably in the wash room which stupid.
There is more going here than I can explain in a video, but I can assure you it's not all laziness. I probably could have worded it better than to say she asked to come back to clean under the bed. I was actually already coming that day to help with whatever she needed and, since they had gotten rid of the mattress over the weekend, she asked if I wanted to finish that room (since she was working on cleaning up her own room), which I was thrilled to do because I feel better when I can do a job to completion and it was a quick thing to finish. Anyway, long answer, but I just wanted to let you know that this mom truly is doing the best she can with the trauma and other things that she has been through in her life and she is working really hard to pick up the pieces and start again and to be a better example to her son. I'm not sure if you saw the other videos of this house (they are the first and second ones I released on my channel, but it tells a little more of this family's situation).

Thank you for the feedback. Absolutely, I am planning on doing that. Some of these first videos I filmed within the first two weeks of cleaning homes and I filmed a lot of it in timelapse mode, so it's hard to slow down. I was also still very uncomfortable on camera, thus the voice over. I have started recording more at real speed though to show the process, so keep watching. I will have some videos coming out soon with stuff like that. I appreciate you being here!

It's a hack I learned from Aurikatariina. She's also the reason I use a squeegee to sweep floors now, too. Works like a charm!

Ha! I remember when my kids were little and they shared a room. Finding the floor was a weekly chore until I started buying crates with labels and then I would threaten them that if it was left on the floor it was tossed. Today they both have good work ethics and keep tidy homes. Now I babysit my only grandchild and I am back to organizing countless toys.😂 Loving it though, I retired to care for her. You are so hard on yourself, I love your videos.They are wonderful and I am excited to view the rest of them, I am working my way backwards. I also watch the 3 cleaners you mentioned as well as a few others. I like to clean then my reward is watching cleaning videos. I am happy I found you. Thank you.🙂
I love hearing what works for other people! So you are watching my videos backwards and watching them get a little worse instead of going forward and watching them get a little better? Lol! I feel like I've come a long way so just be warned some of those early ones are a little hard to watch. You can actually go to my playlists and find the videos that all belong to the same house. I worked in a preschool for 30 years and when the pandemic came and we had to teach from home (I was the helper, not the teacher) I did 117 videos, usually 8 minutes or less and I know about getting better. But yours look professional from the get go. My saving grace was that my audience was 4 years old and they are very accepting and forgiving at that age.

Some kids have WAY TOO MUCH STUFF!!!! Then they don't remember what they have and everything becomes so disorganized. When new toys come in, toys need to leave and be donated.

I was born January 1980 and even though I was 0-9 yrs old, we definitely had a lot less stuff which made cleaning so much easier lol

You're doing a GREAT job. I don't blame it all on the kids, I blame the PARENTS that their rooms look like this. Pure LAZINESS on their part. If the mom calls you back just to clean under the bed, that PROVES RIGHT what I wrote. I don't see any clothes in the closet. That means they are just all filthy and just probably in the wash room which stupid.
There is more going here than I can explain in a video, but I can assure you it's not all laziness. I probably could have worded it better than to say she asked to come back to clean under the bed. I was actually already coming that day to help with whatever she needed and, since they had gotten rid of the mattress over the weekend, she asked if I wanted to finish that room (since she was working on cleaning up her own room), which I was thrilled to do because I feel better when I can do a job to completion and it was a quick thing to finish. Anyway, long answer, but I just wanted to let you know that this mom truly is doing the best she can with the trauma and other things that she has been through in her life and she is working really hard to pick up the pieces and start again and to be a better example to her son. I'm not sure if you saw the other videos of this house (they are the first and second ones I released on my channel, but it tells a little more of this family's situation).

I couldn't have said that better myself. It is probably way more common than anyone would imagine, but people are so ashamed about it that no one really knows how many people struggle with this. I wish I lived in your area to come help!

Thank you for the feedback. Absolutely, I am planning on doing that. Some of these first videos I filmed within the first two weeks of cleaning homes and I filmed a lot of it in timelapse mode, so it's hard to slow down. I was also still very uncomfortable on camera, thus the voice over. I have started recording more at real speed though to show the process, so keep watching. I will have some videos coming out soon with stuff like that. I appreciate you being here!
