- It's finally here: my complete living room reveal! Thank you for your patience. After three months of work, I am done with the living room at last. This is an emotional installment. Please excuse my super-rambling voiceover throughout and the wild privacy blurring toward the end.

Mira, we are sisters in grief and I am also on the Decluttering path. I lost my soulmate, Harley a few years ago…I still cry for him (my profile picture), and there was a day when I stood in the middle of my living room and just screamed. Nothing changed but I just had to let the pain out. I have a pup now ..we needed each other…but Harley is still with us. Your doing a great job and I will follow your progress. ❤🐾

I am incredibly proud of how you kept going despite your grief and "not caring."" Persevering despite those emotions shows tremendous growth! You deserve to live in a clean space, and the fact you're doing it yourself is amazingly tremendous! I'm so happy this community is so supportive of your journey, too! My last house was much like yours. I desperately needed help to get through everything. I didn't get the help, but because I was moving cross country, I only had a small bit of space to take my things. I HAD to declutter. Everything I brought fit in a U-box and was shipped to a storage warehouse. I moved in with my dad, and his house was completely hoarded. 1800 square feet of junk. He passed last September, and I moved out and into my first home. It's 80% not cluttered. My two worst areas are my dining room table and my kitchen. It'll be a year in January, and I still have unpacked boxes in my kitchen. And, all my stuff is still in storage. I'm afraid to bring it home for fear having a hoarded house again! I'll get there. You're inspiring me. ❤
When my dog passed away I gathered his things and put them in a box under my bed, top right corner, under where I sleep. I have two other dogs which helped me transition, but he will always be loved. Extra cuddle time with Clay will help.

Cupid was adorable! we lost our doggie of 17 years last year, it is so hard, they truly are fur babies. The loss of a pet is usually felt harder than even some people because they love us so much the loss is felt greater. Take care of yourself, you are doing a great job!

But, I just had to comment how wonderful it is that you have this beautiful open space you can enjoy and be proud of. I was seriously blown away to see it in person. I’m so sorry about Cupid. I lost my senior girl on Friday and can totally relate to how you’re feeling. Grief is the worst but I would prefer it over never having known the love of my girl. I just want to say you have done an amazing job on your house. You should be so proud of your accomplishments! Keep going Mira, Cupid would want you to. He’s healthy and happy and will be waiting at the rainbow bridge for you ❤🌈

I just said “wow, wow, wow!” at seeing your living room transformation! It looks amazing and you are amazing. I hope you’re proud of what you’ve accomplished. I think you and Clay will be very happy with your new space. ❤
PLEASE don't forget to give yourself grace and time to heal, but also give yourself the credit you deserve.
It would have been much easier to sink into self pity and grief, but you refused to do that, and that's HUGE. Give yourself the victory.
If you've ever watched Hoarders, you know that grief and loss can be huge triggers for hoarding, but you got up and got moving.
Grieving a pet can be devastating. I'm glad you've got your Clay. And remember that it's okay not to be okay, so long as you keep that forward momentum. Obviously you needed a break, but you didn't give up, and that's amazing for you. I'm sure that Cupid is looking down on you with pain free puppy smiles and a corn dog in his mouth! 💕
So sorry about your sweet pup. You have a lot of wise words to share so thank you for that. Your living room looks fantastic. So happy that you and Clay get to enjoy that space.

Just sending a little love your way. I lost two of my fur babies earlier this year. One from diabetes and one from dementia. I still have a blanket I haven't been able to wash and toys I can't throw away. I'm really proud of you. All changes take time. Take all you need.
Oh goodness. I'm so sorry you've gone through so much. I still have the blanket Cupid lay on in the car, and it's going to stay there for a while. Wishing you comfort.

In 2020, I lost a dog 18. A cat 18. Then another dog not even 12 years of age. All that happened within 24 days. I was shattered to say the least. Anyone who has loved and been loved by a fur family friend, knows the absolute anguish we go through when we lose them. And grieving is just one of those things you have to go through. It has stages just like you have stages within your decluttering progress. You and Cupid were very lucky to have one another.😢❤
The difference in your living room is amazing. Congratulations on your hard work. So sorry for your loss of Cupid. I just lost my love bug cat this summer, so I am with you. Keep on, at whatever pace feels right. You will get there!

Mira, I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved Cupid. I had to have my cat put to sleep this July because she stopped eating. She had cancer. I was so depressed after she passed away that I didn’t want to do any decluttering for a few weeks. I didn’t do much of anything , so I got blood clots in my legs. The blood clots moved into both of my lungs, which caused me to have emergency surgery in August. To make matters worse, I got Covid in October. My house had spiraled out of control. Watching your videos has greatly inspired me to take back control of my home a little bit at a time. I’m so grateful that I found your channel when I did. It was perfect timing for me. I enjoy watching your decluttering journey.

We never have our furbabies long enough and it hurts the same as losing a family member. It’s okay to hurt and there is no time limit to grief. We are here for you and with you. You are an amazing inspiration

It is SO impressive how you have cleared the entire living room. Not just the actual decluttering, but also - maybe even more - the mindset shift. Not a lot of people get to that point on their own.

I imagine how hard it would have been to cope with the loss of your companion if you hadn't already started this. It would have been overwhelming to face the house when you're depleted by grief. In Cupids last days he saw you taking back your life, I think maybe he knew he could leave you in Clay's company and you will be ok. ❤
You're right that I likely would have sunk further if I hadn't begun. And it's a lovely idea that Cupid knew he was leaving me safe with Clay on my journey. Thank you for commenting.

What a huge difference. And major kudos to you for tidying the areas by the front and back door. I bet it wasnt too long ago that you either wouldn’t have noticed the clutter or not cared. It only took a bit of time to tidy up which is the benefit of all your hard work. It’s hard to find the energy when we are emotionally exhausted from our grief but “ dishes math” as dana k white says is a thing. If we can spend 10 or 15 minutes on the dishes and 5 minutes throwing out the trash it will help keep our space in order until we can get back in the groove. I found this out from hard experience during an illness. Take care of yourself and Clay. All the best

pet loss feels just as strongly as losing people, don't feel bad about being "emotional" . actually scientifically, i heard that we view them as babies (which to be fair pets are all adorable and deserve all the love) which is why we grieve them so strongly. all the love to you for pushing through and putting out this video ❤

Depression and grief are hard to overcome. If we even do. It took me months to declutter. I have a few things left, but physically can't at this time. I am routing for you, praying for you, and glad to see your accomplishments. Hugs

The stages of grief are sure...shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance...but they don't come in order, they might go back and forth, there is no time guidelines for each stage. We pet parents know the last stages of our relationship will come...but it doesn't make it any easier. My thoughts go out to you. I know that pain so well, yet I am so glad I had those pet angels in my life. We had great times together. I saved my only doggie's collar after she passed...it was in 2000. I have had my other sweet kitties pass and that has all been so sad also. You have so many of us wishing good thoughts and love and healing your way. ❤

We hurt because we love and we shouldn’t have it any other way. Im new here. I found you through the woman who helped clean the kitchen. I'm sorry about Cupid, the same thing happened to my 16 year old cat this year. I cried for months. You'll feel better when you feel better. No one can tell you how long to grieve.😢

And here I am randomly crying over a dog I've never met, but that's what's amazing about our pets, they love so unconditionally that when we lose them we only have beautiful memories of our time together. So very sad for your loss of Cupid. It is obvious he was a very cherished member of your family. I hope you realise that our pets never judge us for how messy our homes are or what we look like or how much money we make, they only want to be with us, looked after and loved. You really let go of a lot of things, which is not easy considering how long you were living in your protective clutter tower. Keep going!

I got tired of hauling the cases of water and the impact they impose on the environment so, I started taking sparkletts water. I highly recommend it. It's about 28.00 per month. I bought the cooler so it decreased my monthly bill. I highly recommend it.

I lost my 19 year old kitty almost 2 years ago and I still cry sometimes. He was like my child. Grief sometimes puts us in a bad place and I'm glad you gave yourself some grace, yet pushed on.

Glad to see you post. I’m sad that Cupid is gone, it is hard when we lose our pets. We recently lost our Boy Buster, farm dog, Master of all he surveyed, chicken defender, 100% purebred good boy. Don’t we love them and don’t they leave a huge hole in our messy lives? Mira, your house is looking so good. You’re doing a great job with all the decluttering! That’s a lot of bags of trash. If you crush the empty bottles as hard as you must feel now, you can fit way more of them in the bin. Just learned that in Turkey.

I hope the pawspector is also good at giving comfort to you, and I bet he misses his brother just as much..
I am grateful that Cupid hold out until you had the livingroom done, that he let you have this feeling of freedom an success, to make it easier to not give up but to restart after the biggest sadness and darkness has gone.
And it is absolutely ok to sweep and rage clean while bawling your eyes out.

When my first dog died I couldn't shower. He used to lie on the bathmat in front of the shower as I showered and then lick the drops from my legs when I got out while I brushed my teeth. After 3 days of not showering I had to go shower at a colleague's house. I could then shower again without crying in that house. Luckily I moved a month later.

I'm so sorry about your sweet dog. I went through kidney disease with my beloved cat, I tried treatment after treatment (2 years of it). I put him down at the beginning of the pandemic. It was horrible. This is my first time on your channel, but I know everyone is here for you, because everyone can understand how much we depend on our sweet pets. I only just started the process of cleaning up my house over the summer, so 3 years for me.

Im so sorry for your loss. Two loses one after the other must be hard. I lost my cat 3 yrs ago and it still hurts, less everyday but I remember his companion and affection. But you are such a strong woman, you are inspiring all of us. Last night I binge wached all your videos and then I did my dishes and cleaned the sink. So thanx to you.
