His Weber grill has stainless steel grates. Nothing needed. I just bought a similar Weber grill with 3 burners and it has the porcelain enamal coated cast iron grates. Weber website says no seasoning is necessary. That is NO oil. Just a burn in like the guy in the video did. However if your grill has cast iron grates with no coating it would probably be a good idea to season them with some type of oil that doesnt burn off quick. ( maybe peanut oil ? ) Hope this helps.
