Why, in the name of all that is holy, would people continue to pay for Drumeo when this dude is legit putting out the best drum videos on TH-cam for free.
Shit. I’d pay for lessons. :)

You have improved my drumming by a YARD. I can actually solo.. with actual ideas.. sometimes I get anxious and I don't know what to play even though I know alot of licks.. I just forget them and get excited... these videos keep me grounded.. slow down and practice that's what I've learnt. So thank you so much.

Gavin Harrison did a 5s segment on Drumeo. 5s are one of his staples though he uses a different sticking - RLRRL (a paradiddle with a L after) Definitely check it out. It will change your world. It's call Favorite Sticking.

Oh man this gave me an idea for stretching some stuff I've been working on. I found myself doing some stuff with paradiddles within eighth note triplets and once I figured out what I was doing I began moving them back and forth along the grid. I think I'll give a shot at 5 groupings within triplets using the ideas you gave here and take that to another level. I somewhat wore myself out with the 5 within 16ths to a fault back in my fusion days...to a point where it was becoming a predictable thing along with other "devices" I had in my limited bag back then. Once I grew up, I started really applying the principles of exhausting the possibilities of variations. This really started me thinking now about revisiting the 5 within "whatever" groupings. 16ths, eighth-note triplets, 16th triplets, 32nds!!! Phrasing 5s within 9 over 2 (triplets within quarter-note triplets). Thanks for warping my mind even more that it already was :) Oh, and happy birthday Steve!

Steve~ Met u at Cuesta College a few years back with your trio...Insanely good! I told you then that I bought "Shed The Light" (?) You said, " Oh, you're the guy!" I've said it before and I'll say it again, your postings are the pinnacle in instructional videos. You introduce concepts and phrasing that even a life-long hack like me can absorb. Every time I shed with your vids I advance in technical, very musical ways. DONT STOP POSTING... You're the best! RU Gigging in the southland anywhere? Thank you!

Only the best drummers can do this. Peter Erskine is another one who can do this as an example, but I prefer your style.
