    I’m 40 and haven’t even touched drum sticks in 15 years. Getting back into finally, got a reasonable kit. I can’t imagine how different my life would have been if I had access to selfless teachers like this anytime I want. This is amazing man and this is really kind of you to make instructional content for anyone who is interested. Thank you!!

    First, as a Drummer and musician and Recording Engineer, your Actual sound is Killer! And awesome job breaking down the sticking.. Now I'm a Lefty that plays a traditional right handed kit so I would reverse the start point: i.e. l,r, etc.. without being too lengthy I often thought about doing rudiments with the feet to strengthen either double kik playing ( which I don't generally ) but again great video! 👍❤️🥁

    • @SethBallou
      @SethBallou ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, the one fill thing is cool how you do the stick count off and the snare drum comes in from the Four into the one in the next measure.. 👍

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This might sound like a boring answer, but the truth is - you just need to work on it slowly. Gotta crawl before you can run, right? :)
      Practice "the pyramid", as in practice playing quarter notes, then 8th notes, 16th notes etc. at a slow tempo, and then gradually increase the tempo and so on.

    As has already been stated.. thank you! You've helped me tremendously also! I have a question whenever you have some time.. for the past couple years drumming has been more of a hobby (obsession, if you ask my wife) and have primarily played on e-kits. 2 years ago I grabbed the alesis nitro and almost immediately, after realizing the limitations, upgraded to the Strike kit. As a pro and teacher, what are your thoughts on e-drums? Thanks again!

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot, Matthew!
      Personally, I’ve never really felt comfortable behind an e-kit. They’re fun to play, but you don’t really get the same striking power as from an acoustic kit, so I don’t really have a lot of experience with e-kits 🙌🔥
