    ❤😊 ABOUT 15 TO 18 YEAR'S I GOT TO DRIVE AN 8850 TRACTOR WITH 40 FOOT FIELD CULTIVATOR BEHIND IT WAS SETUP WITH AUTO STEER !!! FRIEND SAID LISTEN FOR THE BEEP BEEP AND LIFT THE CULTIVATOR A LITTLE BIT AND TURN IT AROUND AND PUSH THE BUTTON AND DO THE SAME THING ON THE OTHER END OF THE FIELD. HE SAID YOUR GOING TO BE HERE FOR A WHILE. 6.5-7 HOUR'S LATER I HAD 350 ACRE'S DONE❤😊

      I would have like to shown the prices of each one in this. Unfortunately I have prices from 1959-1995 and 2012-2022 but I can not locate late 90’s and early 2000’s prices which is a big gap. Some how a 9400 was $200,000 and a 9RX 640 was $811,000.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Both great tractors. A farm I have featured a few times on the channel added their first 4wd to their line up in 1975 with a new 8630. They traded a 4620 with a cab for the 8630. Today they have 6 4wds. They recently tracked the 4620 down and bought it back to restore.

    • @ronaldschoolcraft8654
      @ronaldschoolcraft8654 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bigtractorpower the 4620 was a beast. Ours had a cab, but no air conditioning. It was "turned up" and dyno'd at over 180 HP. Next to the 4020, it was my favorite. I used to pull a 6-18 plow, a large fold-up field cultivator, a 22 ft. folding disc, or the anhydrous applicator with it. I spent hundreds of hours on that thing.
      My dad turned me loose on a 1965 4020 Power Shift with an M & W Turbo kit on it pulling a 5-16 plow for the first time in 1975 when I was 10. I'll never forget that day/night. I currently own a 1966 4020 Synchromesh. The 4020 was the best all-around tractor ever built in my opinion.
      I don't do much farming anymore, but the 4020 is really handy to have around the place.

      Thank you for watching. I am a John Deere equipment fan. I wish I could find more John Deere implements to feature from the 70’s and 80’s. As cool as these classic 4wds are it often bothers me to see them on modern implements rather than a matching Deere implement of the same era.

    I have a request. When you list horsepower numbers you will often also refer to the engine size and make, something as meaningful as the horsepower itself to old farm boys and gear heads like me. I was wondering if you would include information about the engine in the text with horsepower? For example, I grew up on an Allis 8550, a 12.1L twin turbo straight 6 diesel made by Allis. Also only used in the 8550 and the 4w305. Also on am Allis 200, a 4.9L straight 6 diesel. Also a Gleaner L2 with the optional big engine, the 7.0L turbo by Allis in so many tractors for so many years. Have you noticed how many Allis or Gleaners used the 7.0l straight 6 turbo? From the late 70s until the end with 8070s, 7580, 4w220 and so many Gleaners. It's an interesting aside to note how some motors were tweaked to such varying horsepowers, something not unique to Allis I'm sure. Also the weight is important when talking about high horsepower. Our 8550 was very light compared to our neighbors Stieger. Even though our 8550 put out as much horsepower pulling the same DMI 12 bottom (extremely heavy or over-engineered plow) was more difficult for us only because of the traction issues associated with having a significantly lighter tractor. Ty!

      At 10:55 is the 9400. This farm also has a Steiger Cougar I on a Deere 512 mulch ripper running in the same field.

      @bigtractorpower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I very much would like to have included prices unfortunately I only have information from 1959 through 1955 and then from 2012 through 2022 I have a large gap in between right just can’t locate prices on those tractors

    sounded like the 8010 / 8020 tractor had a Detroit diesel in it ???? time 1:30

      Yes the 8020/8010 have a GM diesel in them.

    No 8970? That was 400hp. Interesting for so many years the big JDs used a Cummins 14.0l and when JD started using their own in the 9020 series it was only 12.5 liter for more hp. John Deere still tends to power up smaller engines for high HP compared to say Fendt

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried to mix it up showing different models for each era and I thought the 8870 would be a good one to show. I unfortunately have not located an 8970 to film yet. Of this generation I have only filmed an 8760, 8960, 8770 and 8870 so far.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a separate video planned for the 9000T/9RT tractors. This video is focused on the articulated models. I need to locate a 9020T to complete the tracked video.

      Several were built but were recalled to have a new transmission and clutch put in. One original 8010 still exists. .
