- In 2015 the unique sight of two County 1184TW tractors working together with a Ransomes front and rear mounted ploughing combination and a Dowdeswell example occurred in Suffolk when their owner, Philip Warren and his son, took to the fields and worked one behind the other.

Whilst I can appreciate the amount of extra work that gets done with this arrangement, it looks like it's extremely hard to match the front plough with the previous bout, particularly given how far away the front of the plough is from the drivers' line of sight.
A definite benefit would be the extra weight on the front wheels, getting extra work done, rather than simply carrying a dead weight on the front linkage.
These drivers are obviously very skilled, to be able to handle these machines with such dexterity and ease.

I once a Renault 145.14 TX (135hp) pulling 5 AND pushing 3 some sticky wet land and in the p......... rain without a murmur. Now that was impressive!

Hi. Impressive! We used to use that system of two ploughs on an MB1500 , 6 on the back and 3 on the front. It was really good!! Easy to use and very flexible!

@@tractorbarnproductions2009 Yes it was. The setup could beat a Stiger 300hp with a rear mounted 8 furrow plough on speed with ease! Now they hang 1.5tonnes on the front and call it progress??

Great to see the big old County,s back in action again , a great pity they stopped making them , we once seriously fancied a " little "954 , just like these but smaller , good to hear that luverly big straight 6 ford engine roar ! Fist time I ever saw a pusher plow
They were popular for a time in the 1980s and then fell out of fashion again in the 1990s. Very hard to set up and not easy to transport on the road!

Hi Simon, both were owned by Phil Warren when we filmed them, he has since sold one and still retains the other. I'm afraid other than that we do not know their history

Судя что вес 3.5 тонны он с 7 корпусами даже может с места не двинется, т-150 ка кпп может сложить с 7 ю а у неё тяговое поболее, ну а 4 да будет таскать без проблем долго и счастливо .

Yes, although only one tractor remains with the original owner here, the other being sold and both sets of front ploughs have also been sold so thsi sight will not be seen again!
Единственный прикол в конструкции плуга, ему не надо ходить по кольцу. А всё остальное фигня на лёгком грунте. У нас в Харьковской области в 80-е чехи решили со своей техникой и по своим технологиям что-то выращивать. Всё оказалось нормально, за исключением того что их трактора с их плугами не потянули вспашку и культивацию чернозёма. Пришлось им их плуги приспосабливать к советским тракторам.
И не говори, земля как у меня на морковной грядке.))

I'm not quite understanding the "why?" behind what I am witnessing here. I understand using a roll plow in confined areas where a normal single land plow would be difficult to maneuver. But this seems to be a generously sized field that could easily accommodate a normal plow. And then, why front and rear mounted plows when a single rear mounted plow of seven or eight bottoms would do? This sure seems to be a great deal of over engineering for the job these farmer have set out to do. I see someone commenting about the lack of slippage. Lack of drive wheel slippage is generally not a good thing on farm tractors: 10-15% slippage is expected, anything less than that indicates the tractor is overly ballasted, creating excess strain on the drive train and definitely causing compaction of the soil.
You have to bear in mind that these are not working machines, they are preserved tractors and plough sets and the owner was given permission by a local farmer to use the field to get both his tractors out working together. The front and rear ploughs were built in the 1990s and the idea began in the 1980s as a way of balancing the amount of furrows being drawn between the front and rear of the tractor. They were very popular for a time in Britain although much more common in Europe where they have been reinvented a few times since but without becoming really popular. In most soil conditions they worked pretty well and th emain reason they soon fell from favour was that it was not easy ot get the front and rear ploughs work to match-up properly and were very difficult to manouvre on roads between fields, the front plough sticking out across junctions etc.

@@cdjhyoung avere 0 slittamento è una cosa ottima, vuol dire che non viene sprecata energia. La trasmissione va dimensionata in base al motore e all’utilizzo, non in base ad uno slittamento teorico, che è quasi impossibile avere con certezza in tutte le condizioni di lavoro. Inoltre la macchina, come si vede dal video, non causa un compattamento eccessivo al terreno, al contrario con lo slittamento si andrebbe a compattare ancor più in profondità. In ogni caso questo sistema push-pull consente una maggior trazione anche con minor peso del macchinario, anche per questo si ha poco compattamento, considerando che questi trattori non hanno più di 120 hp e stanno lavorando con 8 vomeri in totale

How many acres a day?
Good question. When this was filmed they were just setting the ploughs up so progress was ratehr slow but once that is done the workrate must be quite good, especailly in a long field. Not good for small sections though!!

Hi, if I'm getting the timecode right it is a plank of wood tied on the back of a van going past on the road which is slightly lower than the field!! Never noticed that before and had to look a couple of times to see what it actually was!!

Who makes County tractors and where?
The oriignal company was County Commercial Cars based in Fleet, Hampshire, England. Started building crawler conversions of Fordson tractors and moved on to four wheel drive, mostly on Ford skid units as well as a few from IH and Leyland. Went into recievership in 1983 and was taken over by a succession of different owners until the last tractors were built in the 1990s

Как такой трактор таскает 2 плуга
Трактор с навесками спереди и сзади называется интегральным, для того сделан. На крутых склонах пахать без разворотов например виноградники.
Похоже 4 корпуса спереди и4 сзади ??? У нас 8 корпусный Кировец тянел а тут чето типа Беларуса ???
