I'm glad you didn't give up man. You're videos are funny and really informative. Additionally, the research you're doing is amazing. You're contribution to understanding and repairing PS3s is invaluable.
An A model with the RSX from the slim is the best PS3. It's not a monster it's a thing of beauty. And those Tokin replacement boards look so good. Great work man. You're the GOAT of PS3 repair.
That's actually why frankenstein is the perfect allegory for this mod. Dr. Frankenstein (humanity) was the real monster, and the "monster" was the sympathetic herine driven to anger in response to his being rejected. We demonize the launch model and sony for selling us a decective console, but in reality it was a flawed thing of beauty. And modders set it their goal to remedy the situation by imitating sony's own rectifying retrofit. The monster is the Redemption story and Dr frankenstein/humanity's flaws/bias the cautionaly tale. Sorry for spelling out the metaphores. They're more fun when you realize them for yourself.
Thank you SO MUCH for leaving all the tribulations into the video! So many show only the successful attempts. This video is great as it's what every beginner went through!
I laughed and i cried. What an eye opening journey. You are destined for greatness. Gonna rewatch this soon and take some notes, i really have to work on my mindset. But this vid...just wow, awesome work. Chapeau 👏👏👏

5 years ago, I bought a non working ps3 fat cechg for 5$. It would boot and instantly tourned off, but no yellow light. I thought that it needed reball, even know that I couldn’t do that, I was curious. Turned out, that whoever changed thermal paste and etc. just missed like 70% of the screws, and all I did to resurrect it-just reassembled it. Played through a lot of games and then sold it. Btw it was 65nm and was sitting at 74 degrees c in xmb with 20% fan, even know that it was delided and had an mx 4 on it.
Awesome? I hope you guys are enjoying the ps3 library and getting your money's worth. I don't want to be the reason you bought an expensive console that sux...lol.
38:20 About that green glitching, it could simply be that the chip as most pieces of silicon do, gets more unstable as temperatures increase. Higher frequencies push the core to get hotter, and running faster means even more instability. There's also the note that while higher voltages do increase stability, at times they can have the opposite effect, or the returns end up diminishing so much that they don't matter. I'm not an expert in chip manufacturing by any means, and this is all anecdotal, but that could be why its causing it.
Thanks for everything rip felix i was 2step from fixing my ps3 but sometime everything can go wrong keep going you made me love this encredible machine even rn i dont have ps3 rn i still enjoy your videos you are the best guy i know fixing ps3 ❤️❤️❤️ NEVER - GIVE - UP ✊️

25:57 i also suggest trying out gran turismo 6. I did a test some time ago and my ps3 with the last of us ran at almost 70/69, with the gran turismo it shut off before i could complete the tutorial so i think it's worth giving it a shot
Great overview of the mod, at first this gave me bane vibes (from batman and robin). Excellent top 10 list too, hope you got that journey collection disc.
Great video, appreciate people who show when things go wrong with this complex mod, helps me learn about the process and build a little confidence in my own skills. Maybe some day ill be able to fix the 3034 A01 I have that's being kept alive by heatsink clamp pressure. I'd love to see how dark souls or dark souls 2 handle an overclock. Especially blighttown in the original, which runs terribly on both Xbox 360 and ps3. They're also just, really good games that offer something unique and satisfying compared to everything else on the market.
I hear alot of people like those games. I've never played them myself. Maybe I can find a save from the location and test. I'm not sure if they are my type of game to play through tho. Seems a bit more violent/demonic for my taste. No judging tho. Taste is subjective.
Great work on the video. Clear instructions but still thoroughly entertaining. I wish I had your skills. I have repaired many computers phones cars appliances you name it. But this is complete mad science.
You are absolutley NUTS! Awesome work you do, vids are always informative and interesting, I myself have a slim and I will keep it that way, I'll keep modding gameboys etc. I dont think I would be capleable of doing what you do
Just a matter of interest and motivation. I'm absolutly sure if you set your mind to it you would acomplish it. But we follow our interests and excell in that. Different but not less an impressive acomplishment.
Alternate intro music: T2 Teaser showing Model 101 modeling... This is so insane! Can't believe how much dedication someone is willing to put into 18 year old hardware. Nobody ever does this for their PC graphics cards or any other game hardware.
Wow, thanks so much! I tried to structure it so it wouldn't be too boring. The first section about the frankenstein mod I worried was too technical for casual viewers. I hoped the intro hook would convince people to stick around long enough to see the pay off. And I hoped I provided enough high level explanation so people could understand the purpose of each mod, even if they don't understand the techical details of how/why it works. Heck, I still don't for much of it. I feel like that section and the comparisons later are the most boring of the video. So I tried my best to make it visually attractive and engauging. I was really curious to see how people would react to those sections.
Like always amazing videos that help me learn more. A game recommendation for you is Ratchet and Clank: A crack in time. It's about connection, family, love, loss and grief. It's a masterpiece of a game and my favourite ratchet and Clank game of all time. The combat is amazing, the story is stunning and the puzzles can be hard but rewarding. I found your Channel out awhile ago and I'm lucky I did. Your content is amazing and you are such a smart person. Whatever is going on, try to stay strong. im glad my comment helped somehow lol your videos are awesome keep going
The very fact that you're capable of this is amazing in itself, mate.
I have no particular love for the PS3 but your work is so beautiful that I can't help but appreciate it.
Just look at that grotesque but lovable grin! You can't help but love a face like that. Like a pug! If I ever get one, I'm naming it frankie.
I'm glad you didn't give up man. You're videos are funny and really informative. Additionally, the research you're doing is amazing. You're contribution to understanding and repairing PS3s is invaluable.
I have a frankie 🚫
I have THE frankie ✅
The quality of this video is just crazy! You are the best man!
What an incredible journey. The skills and knowledge on display here are truly awesome. You did it, FRANKY LIVES!
Chapeau 👏👏👏
This is some of the most vile technomancy i have ever seen, and i love it!
Love this content man long live the ps3 phat
Impressive! You inspire me to try the frankenstein mod myself. It is hard to find dead PS3s tho.
Awesome work as always, you've got me wanting more. Stay strong.
this has been awesome seeing your content and the channel grow, you have been very thorough and informative, love seeing and learning throughout your journey
Bro my respect 🫡 to you!! You are brilliant… please continue your work!😊
Wow absolutamente increíble, great job men, un año despues y seguimos atentos a toda tu investigación, felicitaciones, congrts❤
it was thanks to drunkily stumbling into your videos i finally was able to find out what was wrong with my 60gb ps3 i had in the cuboard for 9 years dead, i now know how to syscon thanks to you :) and an extra i was able to get better at soldering too =], im not ready to do a frankie or tokien replace yet but i know if i need to know i can rewatch your videos for confidence and guide :)
Amazing video once again, you're the reason me and my friend got ourself a frankenstein console made. keep inspiring us!
Awesome? I hope you guys are enjoying the ps3 library and getting your money's worth. I don't want to be the reason you bought an expensive console that sux...lol.
@@ripfelix3020They were both cheap ylod cecha's from Japan that got saved and are awesome now, all good man!
Not only did we get an amazingly detailed repair, we also got to see what the also got a top 10 favorites list!
Great video, keep going man, I enjoyed watching
Great tutorial from since rev 1day 1, and thank you for helping eveyone repairing something that wasn't repairable.
Proud of you dude. Thank you for showing me the way.
Thanks for everything rip felix i was 2step from fixing my ps3 but sometime everything can go wrong keep going you made me love this encredible machine even rn i dont have ps3 rn i still enjoy your videos you are the best guy i know fixing ps3 ❤️❤️❤️
NEVER - GIVE - UP ✊️
OMG, uploaded right on my Bday! Thank you!
Brilliant work, Felix! This is cinema!
WHAT THE?!? WATER COOLED?!?!
Keep up your doing amazing work and the game you showed off you made me interested in getting them. I’m playing them. I love the PS3, especially the backwards compatible ones.
25:57 i also suggest trying out gran turismo 6. I did a test some time ago and my ps3 with the last of us ran at almost 70/69, with the gran turismo it shut off before i could complete the tutorial so i think it's worth giving it a shot
Thank you so much for taking my suggestion on doing liquid cooling and overclock on Rsx Felix!!🎉🎉🎉
Que tío más grande!¡ un saludo desde España!
Great overview of the mod, at first this gave me bane vibes (from batman and robin). Excellent top 10 list too, hope you got that journey collection disc.
Oh, there's a collection disc? Hmm, I'll look into it. THX.
Different but not less an impressive acomplishment.
terrific work and video. Keep going!
Never give up, never surrender!. Hope you are doing fine, Felix!. Be good and well.
Alternate intro music: T2 Teaser showing Model 101 modeling...
This is so insane! Can't believe how much dedication someone is willing to put into 18 year old hardware. Nobody ever does this for their PC graphics cards or any other game hardware.
You are amazing, thank you for all your work and research! Glad it all worked out at the end.
You are truly a genius. I hope you continue discovering Sony's secrets
Incredible work and perseverance, dude! Awesome video, too. Thank. you so much!
After clicking around videos not being able to watch more than 2 mins of each came upon this one and watched it all the way through 👍
Wow, thanks so much!
Video games are an amazing escape and definitely help me when I need it, I don't know what is going on in your life and I won't pry but I hope for the best for you
The genuine GOAT of PS3s
Another awesome vid, keep up the good work
I love the PS3!!. And I loved this video, thanks!!
