    Crabs scavengers. Scent/Smell is king. Chkn good. Chkn & a piece bloody beef liver? Spectacular. You still will need the chkn as theyll eat the liver up fairly quick but theyll coma a running. Try it.

    Happy Birthday Tony! Nice haul of big Jimmies! Next time you catch a small crab like that and you want to fish, cut it in half and hook it just behind the point where the shell starts to widen. Lots of fish love that including sheepshead which taste like blue crab if you cook them in butter.

    I dropped my car keys off a bridge while crabbing in water four feet deep. I had a magnet salvaged from an old stereo speaker tied to a thirty ft. piece of cord and I was able to fish it out because the key ring was made of material that is attracted by magnets. I also keep a big cobia jig to use as a snatch hook in case one of my traps break off the line.

    Place a small float about a foot above the triangle strings on the trap. You will catch a lot more crabs and much bigger.. the idea is to keep those trap strings floating. If you let those strings lay in the trap. As soon as you pull the line the bigger crabs will dart away quicker than you can pull... Not kidding 🤨

    • @itzamia
      @itzamia ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @peace and food How goes it. I usually cut twine about 15-20 feet long and tie a drum stick to it. I'll have 5 of these rigged up with a small stick tied to the other end, and then throw the chicken out. Usually you can see them walk up and pinch on, or start walking with it moving the line. That's about the distance from shore you need. Go before during and after low tide or can spot light them at night. Hope that helps. I'm going on 20 years of crabbing. Good luck🤟
