Spoke to UK Cust Serv and they said that the UK machines do not have the capability to cast in any way. I blocked updates before so I didnt get locked out anymore but for some reason my elliptical got updated. I had to reset it all over again but thanks to this I said by to the codes! @@NelsonMunoz0714 I tried it tonight but the only part that worked for mine was the 10 taps, 7 seconds and 10 taps. That put me into God mode without needing to do the code stuff. From there, I actually found another article that I followed to disable the auto update followed by uninstalling the ifit app that came with the proform bike since it's an older version and then I installed the newest ifit app. So now I'm running the latest app version without it doing the firmware update. I was also able to add Pandora so now I can listen to music while on the proform bike. Thank you for the help and guidance.
Wow! That is awesome! Glad you were able to figure out how to get your ProForm bike working with new iFit software. Having Pandora will allow so much more of a music selection. Thanks for sharing your success story.
Hi James, according to the wording on the limited warranty, if you so much as breathe on your exercise machine, you run the risk of voiding your warranty. That being said, the only way "hacking" your exercise machine would void your warranty is if you contacted iFit, NordicTrack, ProForm and told them. If by chance you were to have a technician come to your house for a repair, they couldn't care less. Regardless, I always advise my viewers to do a factory reset if they have a tech coming to the house. In summary, you run a better chance of being struck by lightning, twice in the same day, than voiding your warranty. in my dealings with tens of thousands of viewers, only one person ever voided his warranty. He sent a picture of his treadmill to NordicTrack. NordicTrack wrote back saying they voided his warranty because the treadmill was in the garage, a space that is not temperature-controlled. Hope this helps to alleviate any doubts you may have about accessing privileged mode.
Thanks, Dr NT, I was able to find out the machine architecture and load 'God mode' on my new Pro-Form 9000 treadmill. When I load the FitBit app, however, the whole screen flips through 90 degrees and makes it unusable. If you have any idea how to stop that (auto rotate screen has no effect) then let me know. Great content. Would this allow the loading of an older version of the iFit software that doesn’t frame skip? Or has that problem gone away now? I’ve still definitely got that problem on my Nordic track 1950.
Hi The CEO, that problem still exists. Theoretically you should be able to install an older version of iFit, specifically a version that was working perfectly well, before they ruined the app. I have yet to try it, but hopefully I will get to it sometime this year. If you try it and are successful, plz comment.

JunkWaxHero, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. As for Google Play, you should not be using Google Play to download any apps. Google Play is not compatible with NordicTrack or ProForm exercise machines. Instead, you will have to use an APK website like APK Pure or APK Mirror, for example. There are many out there, but the two I use are APK Pure and APK Mirror. From the APK website, you will download an apk file that you can then install on your exercise machine. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Just falling down this rabbit hole as I have an x22i on order and I have no idea what to do now. It’s not too late to cancel my order, should I be considering cancelling it? I have a Peloton subscription with my bike and an old treadmill and I’m 4 years commited to that program and will not subscribe to ifit.
Hi kjmumma, I always tell NordicTrack buyers, :Don't buy the exercise machine so that you can install Netflix and other apps. That is not good enough reason to spend the thousands of dollars. Having that option is something nice for sure, but should not be the main reason you are buying a NordicTrack or ProForm treadmill or bike...
@@NelsonMunoz0714 thanks, I appreciate the disclaimer, I’m certainly not only getting this treadmill to watch Netflix. I’m a long time fitness equipment user, 47 years young, my old treadmill was great, 16 years old and was still going strong but I genuinely wanted the steep incline this treadmill affords. We live in the canadian Rockies and love to hike and backpack all summer and fall with our 3 teenagers. Most of these hikes require a strong fitness level and 2000 ft of elevation gain would be considered an “easy” hike, so this treadmill is a tool for us to get and stay in hiking shape so that we can hit the trail with confidence. Our x22i arrived this week and we are just getting to know it. I suspect I will have to suck it up and just pay for the family iFit membership to make the most of it, at least for the first little while. I still ride my Peloton 3 days a week so it kind of sucks to be paying for two memberships.

I love my x22i and use my ifit workouts all the time. Sometimes I just want to watch a show, though! Especially if it's a workout I've done before. Nelson has managed to address all the issues that have driven me crazy! Treadmill is working beautifully. I did have to gave a part replaced last month and had to reset everything, but that's not a huge deal.
I see two fx file explorers, one says "root addon." Anyway, root access is required to create that file, and Nordic Track seems to have locked that down so that one can't get root access.
You shouldn't need root access to write to the sdcard. You may need root access to get to it via /System as the video shows. There are other file explorers that will have an sdcard shortcut to not access it via root.
@@fuelvolts Ok, I think I'm going to give up. I can't seem to get es file explorer (as an example) to download just to see if I can get sdcard directory access. apkpure wants me to create an account and give it a credit card number. I have the apkpure app on the machine, but it doesn't seem to really be usable. It comes up sideways and blasts immense amounts of advertising. I can't seem to find any way to use it for anything.
BC, I have received several emails from others that have tried the steps in this video and they too have said they cannot create the file needed because they don't have the elevated permissions needed to write/access the directory. Looking into other ways to gain access. You may be able to try other file explorer apps or terminal emulators. Will look into this and see about uploading another video. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello, thank you for sharing this. Do you know what alternative I have to use the nordictrack 22i bike? , I can't pay a subscription and I want to create routes in maps, that is, have a free ifit or another apk that does something similar.
You can enable privileged mode and then use TH-cam bike videos for free. You still have to use the iFit software, but can maintain a free subscription.
Thank you so much. I JUST got my new X32i. I followed all of the steps and then tried to download the Netflix app. It continues to say “This device is not supported by this app”. Do you have an idea on what I should do? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall twice.
Erin, the "...device not supported by the app" error is one I have seen before. Essentially, the version of Netflix that you downloaded will not work on your machine. You will need to download and install a different version. I have a video on the Netflix installation that you should watch: th-cam.com/video/-1UNyvdULfo/w-d-xo.html Depending on the version of Android on your exercise machine, will determine which Netflix version to install. If your machine is older you should download Netflix from the Netflix website. If you have a newer machine, download the Netflix apk from one of the websites I use in the new video. A couple of comments...they change the number of taps to 15 in the newest 22i. My machine doesn't show up on the list "choose a device" when I try to install any app. I can see iFit on the list of my devices though. Any hints?
RR, thanks for the update. Unfortunately, NordicTrack and ProForm machines are not known for their ability to connect to other devices. IT is not supported so chances are if it does not see your smart device, it will not be compatible.
Arg, I can install in the FX app, but when I try to open it it gives an error saying the app is "unavailable in your region". Thoughts on what I can do?

Justin, try tapping a bit firmer and if that still does not work, try the alternate 15 taps, wait 5 seconds and then repeat the 15 taps, then wait 5 seconds and again repeat the 15 taps. That seems to work for some. Let me know if this helps.

Unfortunately, all of the version of Netflix I've tried (4.13.14540 / 4.16.200217 / 5.0.1.16103) all say "Netflix is no longer available on this device. Please visit...." any suggestions or advice to bypass this error? Thanks Again!!!
I recently received the following reply from a NordicTrack owner. ----- I FOUND ONE!!! Version 4.10.3 build 11151. It asked me to update when I ran it for the first time. I hit cancel. It let me sign in and works! -----
blue, If your older model 1650 does not have a pinhole to factory reset your machine, you will have to manually do a factory reset. A factory reset can be done from privileged mode. Let me know if you need further assistance.
Hey I’ve done all of the steps and I’ve downloaded Netflix but it won’t let the treadmill move when not in the ifit app is there anyway to fix the problem?
Unfortunately, you must run the iFit app concurrently with Netflix. Once you have them both running, you start a manual run. Then you switch to Netflix.
Is there a way to download these files(apk pure app and the .wolfDev) to an external usb Flash drive or micro SD card and sideload or upload them onto a machine that has a usb drive or Micro SD slot? (Assuming the software that was saved to the external drive/card doesn’t become obsolete) I think the best long term approach to this situation with these machines is for someone to create a custom ROM that has the essential features to run the machine
Hi champ, There are forums on reedit, and elsewhere on the web that discuss ways to access the Android operating system on our NordicTrack/ProForm machines. I tend to not talk much about this way because I am not an expert on doing this. I believe there are ways to hook up a laptop or ways to access the backend Android OS, but again, I would defer to someone more knowledgeable. A real easy way to get those files on your machine is to email them to yourself. Then access your webmail from your exercise machine and copy them locally. It is a shame that iFit/NordicTrack/ProForm/ICON will not open their machines so we can install additional apps. There are treadmills out there, bikes, ellipticals that include Netflix and TH-cam access on their menus. I believe iFit does not because they are afraid their software/hardware will not handle the multiprocessing involved. Best of luck, and of course, if you find a cool way to access the Android OS, please share.
This has worked for me but iFit must be used to start my x22i. And iFit is repeatedly crashing on me. I am tired of having to reboot it constantly. And my husband is TOTALLY annoyed with it. Any thoughts?
Hi Monica, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. iFit has been known to cause issues with some machines. Is your X22i a newer one, that runs a newer version of Android (v7, v9), or is it an older model that runs Android v5.1.1? The reason I ask is because I have an older X22i that runs Android version 5.1.1 and I don't have any problems. As far as what can be done, if you are still under warranty, plz contact iFit using the iFit app. There is a menu option to report a problem right from the iFit app. This provides you with a date/time stamp that allows you to have a log of when you reported the issue. No matter how small the issue, and your issue is a big one, I always recommend using the iFit app. You will get an auto-reply immediately, and then within 3 - 5 business days an iFit tech will reach out to you. The great thing about the iFit app and reporting the issue there is once the issue is resolved, you can go back to your email trail that is generated from the iFit app and use your initial report to request an additional year of iFit family membership. I always advise my viewers to ask for compensation in the form of a free year of iFit because you deserve to be compensated if something is not working correctly. iFit will sometimes balk at providing compensation, but if you insist, they usually will provide some sort of compensation, especially if the issue is causing you not to be able to use the iFit app correctly. ----- Good luck, and my only suggestion after you report the issue (if you are still under warranty), is to perform a factory reset on your machine. This will clear out any software-related issues. Keep us posted.
Try using a different browser. NordicTrack and ProForm are making it harder and harder to install apps. Each successive iFit update locks down the machine more and more. I have had success with Chrome and Firefox.
Hi Angel, Usually the iFit update will not make you lose privileged mode. But I have heard of others saying that the latest iFit update has locked them out. I can't say for sure... I can tell you that both my S22i and X22i still have Privileged Mode enabled and accessible, and have the latest and greatest iFit updates.
Hey, thanks for this video. I was able to unlock my 2950 and s22i. Whenever I try to load something from play store, it says app unavailable for this device. Wondering if anyone is able to load any apps or if you all just use the browser for every thing you watch?
Victor, sorry for the late response. You should be able to download and install apps from APK Pure, APK Mirror, and other APK sites. Just remember the apk must be compatible with your version of Android.

Nelson has managed to address all the issues that have driven me crazy! Treadmill is working beautifully. I did have to gave a part replaced last month and had to reset everything, but that's not a huge deal.

I see two fx file explorers, one says "root addon." Anyway, root access is required to create that file, and Nordic Track seems to have locked that down so that one can't get root access.
You shouldn't need root access to write to the sdcard. You may need root access to get to it via /System as the video shows. There are other file explorers that will have an sdcard shortcut to not access it via root.
@@fuelvolts Ok, I think I'm going to give up. I can't seem to get es file explorer (as an example) to download just to see if I can get sdcard directory access. apkpure wants me to create an account and give it a credit card number. I have the apkpure app on the machine, but it doesn't seem to really be usable. It comes up sideways and blasts immense amounts of advertising. I can't seem to find any way to use it for anything.
BC, I have received several emails from others that have tried the steps in this video and they too have said they cannot create the file needed because they don't have the elevated permissions needed to write/access the directory. Looking into other ways to gain access. You may be able to try other file explorer apps or terminal emulators. Will look into this and see about uploading another video. Thanks for the feedback.

Dr.... can you help please I did this & it worked! But now I see IFIT ADMIN but the IFIT App to use the treadmill is missing / hidden? How can I find it to add it back?

Hello, thank you for sharing this. Do you know what alternative I have to use the nordictrack 22i bike? , I can't pay a subscription and I want to create routes in maps, that is, have a free ifit or another apk that does something similar.
You can enable privileged mode and then use TH-cam bike videos for free. You still have to use the iFit software, but can maintain a free subscription.
Thank you so much. I JUST got my new X32i. I followed all of the steps and then tried to download the Netflix app. It continues to say “This device is not supported by this app”. Do you have an idea on what I should do? I have tried to uninstall and reinstall twice.
Erin, the "...device not supported by the app" error is one I have seen before. Essentially, the version of Netflix that you downloaded will not work on your machine. Depending on the version of Android on your exercise machine, will determine which Netflix version to install.
If your machine is older you should download Netflix from the Netflix website. If you have a newer machine, download the Netflix apk from one of the websites I use in the new video.

A couple of comments...they change the number of taps to 15 in the newest 22i. My machine doesn't show up on the list "choose a device" when I try to install any app. I can see iFit on the list of my devices though. Any hints?
RR, thanks for the update. Unfortunately, NordicTrack and ProForm machines are not known for their ability to connect to other devices. IT is not supported so chances are if it does not see your smart device, it will not be compatible.
Arg, I can install in the FX app, but when I try to open it it gives an error saying the app is "unavailable in your region". Thoughts on what I can do?

Yes, that is OK. Android 5 is the minimum required. You can use the apk file with any Android version that is at a minimum of version 5.

No need to block iFit. You can allow updates.
10 tap on my 2022 x22i doesn't do anything. firmware is from aug 2022.
Justin, try tapping a bit firmer and if that still does not work, try the alternate 15 taps, wait 5 seconds and then repeat the 15 taps, then wait 5 seconds and again repeat the 15 taps. That seems to work for some. Let me know if this helps.
Thanks for the video Nelson. I'm able to get and stay in privileged mode on my Commerical 2950. Unfortunately, all of the version of Netflix I've tried (4.13.14540 / 4.16.200217 / 5.0.1.16103) all say "Netflix is no longer available on this device. Please visit...." any suggestions or advice to bypass this error? Thanks Again!!!

I suggest going to the next version, and just make certain the apk is compatible with your Android version.

blue, If your older model 1650 does not have a pinhole to factory reset your machine, you will have to manually do a factory reset. A factory reset can be done from privileged mode. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Unfortunately, you must run the iFit app concurrently with Netflix. Once you have them both running, you start a manual run. Then you switch to Netflix.

I have not gotten Disney+ to work, but some of the newer apk files may work. As for TH-cam, you can view TH-cam videos thru the browser.
My iFit Admin appeared and started a download of something.
It is possible your machine was getting an update. Does everything seem to be working OK?
Is there a way to download these files(apk pure app and the .wolfDev) to an external usb Flash drive or micro SD card and sideload or upload them onto a machine that has a usb drive or Micro SD slot? (Assuming the software that was saved to the external drive/card doesn’t become obsolete)
I think the best long term approach to this situation with these machines is for someone to create a custom ROM that has the essential features to run the machine

There are forums on reedit, and elsewhere on the web that discuss ways to access the Android operating system on our NordicTrack/ProForm machines. I tend to not talk much about this way because I am not an expert on doing this. I believe there are ways to hook up a laptop or ways to access the backend Android OS, but again, I would defer to someone more knowledgeable.
A real easy way to get those files on your machine is to email them to yourself. Then access your webmail from your exercise machine and copy them locally.
It is a shame that iFit/NordicTrack/ProForm/ICON will not open their machines so we can install additional apps. There are treadmills out there, bikes, ellipticals that include Netflix and TH-cam access on their menus. I believe iFit does not because they are afraid their software/hardware will not handle the multiprocessing involved. Best of luck, and of course, if you find a cool way to access the Android OS, please share.
This has worked for me but iFit must be used to start my x22i. And iFit is repeatedly crashing on me. I am tired of having to reboot it constantly. And my husband is TOTALLY annoyed with it. Any thoughts?
Hi Monica, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. iFit has been known to cause issues with some machines. Is your X22i a newer one, that runs a newer version of Android (v7, v9), or is it an older model that runs Android v5.1.1? The reason I ask is because I have an older X22i that runs Android version 5.1.1 and I don't have any problems. As far as what can be done, if you are still under warranty, plz contact iFit using the iFit app. There is a menu option to report a problem right from the iFit app. This provides you with a date/time stamp that allows you to have a log of when you reported the issue. No matter how small the issue, and your issue is a big one, I always recommend using the iFit app. You will get an auto-reply immediately, and then within 3 - 5 business days an iFit tech will reach out to you. The great thing about the iFit app and reporting the issue there is once the issue is resolved, you can go back to your email trail that is generated from the iFit app and use your initial report to request an additional year of iFit family membership. I always advise my viewers to ask for compensation in the form of a free year of iFit because you deserve to be compensated if something is not working correctly. iFit will sometimes balk at providing compensation, but if you insist, they usually will provide some sort of compensation, especially if the issue is causing you not to be able to use the iFit app correctly.

Try using a different browser. NordicTrack and ProForm are making it harder and harder to install apps. Each successive iFit update locks down the machine more and more. I have had success with Chrome and Firefox.

Hi Angel, Usually the iFit update will not make you lose privileged mode. But I have heard of others saying that the latest iFit update has locked them out. I can't say for sure... I can tell you that both my S22i and X22i still have Privileged Mode enabled and accessible, and have the latest and greatest iFit updates.

Hey, thanks for this video. I was able to unlock my 2950 and s22i. Whenever I try to load something from play store, it says app unavailable for this device. Wondering if anyone is able to load any apps or if you all just use the browser for every thing you watch?
Victor, sorry for the late response. You should be able to download and install apps from APK Pure, APK Mirror, and other APK sites. Just remember the apk must be compatible with your version of Android.

HI Alex, I would check to make certain your created the required file in the correct location. Otherwise, I have heard from some folks that this fix no longer works. Strange, as there are others that are saying they successfully configured their machines for Permanent Privileged Mode?
