- After the latest update to iFit, my treadmill starting asking for a code to access privilege mode. Thanks to Nelson Munoz ( / nelsonmunoz0714 , i'm now able to get back into privilege mode, bypassing iFit's attempt to hijack my treadmill. This video just goes over the steps of what happened and how to get around it and still update iFit to the latest version while keeping the benefits of privilege mode. These devices are ours, not NordicTrack or iFit and they have no right to keep you from doing whatever you want to do with it. Now, they claim that doing this could void your warranty. User be warned.

I filed a complaint with my state attorney general as well. Hopefully this will get some traction. We need everyone to do the same.

However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. It’s a great treadmill but to be locked out of features on a piece of equipment that you paid for, isn’t cool. And congrats on 30lbs!
This loophole just got closed to me yesterday. I want to say that I felt this coming, and I am flaming mad because the only reason I bought this treadmill was for watching Netflix. Thanks so much for the legal responses below-- happy to work together with anyone in CA.
Honestly, fuck Nordic Track and IFIT for this. I spent a lot of time looking into which bike to buy. The ability to go into privileged mode and load video apps was a big part of why I bought this bike. If you do sue, please include all the people who had to spend the $250 return fee.
I thought the reason for buying a workout machine would be to workout, maybe that's just me. You could've just bought a tablet for cheaper if the only reason was to watch Netflix

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I, like many others are so beyond frustrated with Nordic Track for blocking us from being able to fully utilize the functionality of our machines. I will give this a try tomorrow and hope that this hack still works so I can use my screen as a tablet - as it rightfully should be used!

I have the commercial 2450 unit and can’t find the tiny hole for the pin to reset it. It’s amazing how you figured this out! I want to watch movies on mine not fitness stuff so I was looking to get Netflix. Your info is huge! It’s shocking how the 10 taps opens a whole new screen. Seems like consumer fraud to keep this info hidden from us, why should it void the warranty to gain access to all the features it has to offer that we paid for, we should own all of it, not just the parts they say we do! If you can’t find the pin hole, you have to go through the settings menu but that’s only available on models running version 7.1 or higher.
WOW, great job just loved the way you explain it!!!! I had just order my new S22I two weeks ago, but once I heard about privilege mode was gone I cancel my order. The bike was in my city which is Tampa and the delivery personnel was ready to bring it to my home. Also, Nordic Track still charged me $250.00 for the restocking fee! However, I didn't mind the fee but I wish I had waited two weeks for your post BigNasty. Finally, I'm going to wait before purchasing another bike, because I haven't heard of anyone doing this procedure on a new bike system. Great job once again!!!

Excellent. Not sure how they'll win with right to repair winning over the major corps. More reason to spend money on a better standalone tablet next time I need a treadmill. Rest of equipment requires a tablet I have with no issues. Munoz is an excellent source as well.
It's been more than 6 months to use my S22i since I used last time with using the privilege mode and I noticed today it's no longer available. I got the little pop up window saying that 'Please contact to customer care to continue.' with 6 numbers. I just entered the same number and hit the button 'submit' but nothing worked. I tried to find to see if there's any ways to bypass it and I finally found the video on your channel. You are a lifesaver. Huge informative video. Truly appreciate it! I'm not sure if I could make it but I will definitely try it. Thank you for sharing a useful info to help others. Someone who in charge of it of the company blocked the privilege mode is sucks. They must allow their customers to be able to use the privilege mode who buy expensive products from the company. Hopefully the privilege mode is no longer blocked again after I'm done successfully. So, I received a letter, through my state attorney general, from Nordictrack/iFit that I would love to share:
“Mr. (me) contacted our iFit team inquiring about the codes/knowledge to gain access to the consoles ‘privilege mode’ software program. This setting contains proprietary information. Furthermore, there are legalities within providing this information to members without the aid of trained iFit member support agents.
‘Privilege Mode’ is a setting that allows one to gain access into the console’s software and firmware. It is only to be accessed through the prompting of our trained agents when performing necessary steps to fix software issues. ‘Privilege mode’ is a feature not advertised to the general public, nor is it within the customers’ rights to gain access.”
Well, I’ll be replying with the bad news that Android is an open source operating system, accessibility options are needed for the handicapped (American Disabilities Act), the OS is so out of date that it’s insecure and that iFit is a software installed on Android not that iFit IS the OS. This will be fun, I might even get Android involved.

@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY oh man, yeah I bought the newest nordictrack 1750 and it doesn't have any of the reset buttons, USB, and requires a code for privilege mode. I don't get why they don't allow it to be used normally

On my FS14i the reset to factory default is accomplished by turning the unit off, pressing and holding the reset button and the turning the unit on. Only mention this because I am sure there are other NordicTrack devices require this to reset to factory default rather than the "switch" method shown in this video.
I’ve got the new EXP 14i and assume mine is like yours. My On button/reset button is the same button so when I turn it on, I can’t hold the reset button at the same time because it’s actually a switch so turning it on releases the reset. How does one factory reset the EXP 14i?

@@jsharkee I use mine Monday through Friday and am still enjoying it. Regarding my earlier comment: I did have to reset mine recently because my screen locked up and the only way to fix it was by resetting it. There is a small pin hole on the left side of the screen which fixed the screen lock up. Also I got iFIT free for 1 year because I bought mine at Dick’s Sporting Goods. They also had a big sale there so you might consider that option as well.
Not sure if this will help at all, but if anyone is like me and doesn’t have a reset button to factory reset the device, once you get it in privilege mode, you can go to “settings” on the desktop and then “system”. From there you can factory reset it as well.

Someone needs to make a KEYGEN to bypass this garbage, how is this even legal?

Ok, IFit reinstalled last night, even with the screen lock. Woke up this morning, screen locked, entered pin and noticed no privilege mode. Tried to go back in and prompted for code. I had to do a full factory reset to get back in and that, of course, removes anything I installed. Tried removing IFit, successful but can’t remove IFit admin and this automatically reinstalls IFit after a reboot. Thanks for subscribing, I did yours too. I’m thinking about an android upgrade through recovery mode but, can’t seem to navigate recovery mode. Tried keyboard, BT, USB, still working on it.

So the issue I have is this......since I do use ifit and run with the trainers I noticed that many of the new workouts do not load unless you upgrade / update the entire system. So I am stuck with older workouts all the time. What I do in order to beat the system is I turn off wifi and reset the wifi setting when I am finished my workout. So next time I use the treadmill I just turn wifi back on.....it says there is update available and I say LATER and I do my ifit workout. Once you update your back to the beginning and you have to do factory reset again and start over so I found that killing the wifi after I am done will not allow it to upgrade while the treadmill is sleeping. They really need to just get rid of that code and allow us to do what we want.

This is messed up that IFIT is doing this. I'll make sure not to update my treadmill anymore. It's our machine we paid for it. We should be able to do whatever we want to it. Another example of our freedoms being slowly taken away from us.
Great tutorial. Very clear and concise. I will be trying this out on my proform pro22 studio bike that runs iFit. I got the update as well, and have no access to privilege mode. Will report back on status once I have the chance to go through all of this. Just want to install netflix and the Peleton app for the live classes... I'll probably install more though... hahaha

What model do you have? Does it have a reset button/switch?
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY 32x1 yes it has a reset by the headphone jack on right side if your facing the screen. No matter how long I hold it in it will not reboot

Got nearly the same treadmill just the buttons are embedded into a crevice where the tablet sits

Oklahoma Attorney General (Consumer Protection Unit)
Since I have yet to receive any information from the location of the business attorney general, I will provide a response to the company letter sent on 9/10/2021 signed by Barnett Moss, Member Care Specialist, Please Forward.
I will cover each portion of the letter with a response:
"This setting contains proprietary information"
This statement is false, accessing privilege mode on this piece of equipment does not give a user access to the iFit or iFit admin software. These software packages are installed on an "Android" operating system. Android is a mobile operating system based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other "open source" software. Accessing privilege mode provides the user access to this operating system. This operating system is owned by "Google" in which it acquired in 2005. If this company is asserting that this "proprietary information" is within the Android operating system, I suggest the company resolve this issue with Google.
"There are legalities within providing this information to members without the aid of trained iFIT Member Support Agents"
Accessing privilege mode does not change the operations of the device at all. As a matter of fact, the device fully functions without the need or use of the iFIT software. This is accomplished by simply pushing the start/stop, speed and incline/decline buttons on the device itself. There are no features within the operating system that directly change the operations of the iFIT software to operate the equipment.
"It is one to be access through the prompting of our trained agents when performing necessary steps to fix software issues"
There is no need for a "Trained Agent" to access privately owned devices, the software can simply be updated online without the need for users to access privilege mode. This feature is already available through the iFIT software but only upgrades the iFIT and iFIT Admin software.
"'Privilege Mode' is a feature not advertised to the general public, nor is it within the customers' rights to gain access"
This is, again, not accurate. Privilege mode is well known to the public because it is a feature within Android and not iFIT. NordicTrack/iFIT decided to hide the feature by requiring a special key sequence to access it. It is the right of the user (owner) of the device to access feature required by law.
Currently, these devices are nothing more than a mobile tablet, disguised as some sort of advanced piece of exercise equipment. There is no difference between an android tablet and the screen on an of of these pieces of equipment, its just simply attached to a treadmill or stationary bike/rower.
What features are required by law? Access to accessibility options for the disabled as required by the American Disabilities Act. These features include, Captions, Magnification gestures, large text, high contract text, text to speech, touch and hold, color inversion and color correction. These features are not available through the iFIT software and gives no option for these features for the disabled.
Software upgrading. NordicTrack/iFIT only upgrades its software and has so neglected the operating system that there are over 3,656 software vulnerabilities to the operating system. These devices are running Android 5.1.1. This operating system is from 2015 and the Android operating system is now on version 12 (released February 18, 2021). These systems (as said earlier) are no different than your average Android tablet. They have WIFI, Bluetooth, cameras, speakers, etc and contain the same vulnerabilities as any other tablet. Yet, NordicTrack/iFIT has not been able to keep these devices up to date to protect their customers. The amount of vulnerabilities put these customers privacy and safety at risk, but they are worried about customer access features that they have paid for? Why? Usually, if no longer under warranty, to gain revenue.
Companies worried about warranty repair can simply provide a disclosure that accessing privilege mode will voice their warranty and provide a disclosure that accessing of privilege mode would also prevent any repair (under warranty or not) by a NordicTrack/iFIT technician. But preventing customers from accessing features that are NOT proprietary is not only a violation of their rights as an owner but its just wrong. NordicTrack/iFIT does not own this equipment, the customer does and whether the device is beyond warranty or not, it is the customers responsibility or what is done with it.
Again, customers demand these devices be released to where if they wish to access privilege mode it is their responsibility to do so.

@@marias8764 I did get a response from the Utah Attorney General basically saying that the state legislature doesn’t give them authority to do anything but they would forward my letter to the company. That’s a total cop out for an agency of the state meant to protect consumers. We are all being conned by politicians that don’t care about us at all.

Thank you. I'll try this. I have been screen mirroring my small 7 inch treadmill screen to my 32inch TV for 2 years. Ifit even helped set me up into privilege mode a long time ago. Then they pull this crap. I called recent and they gave me the same story you talked about. Hope this works. Thank you again.
I've been trying to cast or mirror my tablet to my flat screen sin e I bought the treadmill in late 2019, but I can't get it to do this. How did you do it?
🔥🔥👏👏 The way to stream HD and do workout, Open up app on iPad or Roku then start both at the same time . At this point your control is being controlled on machine and your larger screen has HD 👏👏🔥🔥 ENJOY , That was easy
To navigate recovery mode try using the physical volume buttons. Also, have you tried going into "device administrators" and seeing if you can disable iFit as a device administrator? Not sure if this will do anything.
Haven’t even thought of that, I’ll check. I did try the volume button that it didn’t work. I know there are other comm ports on the tablet board, just haven’t had time to work on it because you have to take the back of the display apart.
My tablet dose not have a reset, Si I contacted ifit, got the code and restart the tablet to factory settings. The table does the reboot and is back to original factory settings. Mine doesnt show the nkernel and doesnt show the app new version banner , it jumps straight to the new version. any ideas?

Mine just arrived a couple days ago. I doubt this will work for me. I’m shocked at this shitty move by Nordic Track. I’m probably going to return mine and get a Peleton.
Thank you for this. I think the key is to not update at all after the factory reset. I power cycled my machine and it’s retaining the admin privilege. That said, this is such bullshit. iFit doesn’t own the tablet. No way this is legal.

The thing is, if I don’t update it, I constantly refreshes over and over again. Do you know how to fix it?
So will not actually signing up for the iFIT(in my case the free 30 days) avoid all this hassle to begin with?
Mine is from ProForm and Everything is Wireless. There is no reset .
I'm guessing IFit doesn't want you to be able to access your android because you can then SCREEN CAST your workouts to a larger screen. They would prefer you purchase a larger screen model should you like this upgrade. Just wrong.

I have the NordicTrack elite 1000. I did the reset and put a pin. My ifit screen conducted an automatic update and once updated I entered my pin and the privilege mode was no longer available. Any tips? Thanks
Can you install and use Zwift or anything similar on the S22i if you have privileged mode?
If you’re in privileged mode, you should be able to install any android app.

I’m not sure, you have to see if your model has the reset feature.
How will it void your warranty if something goes haywire just do a hard reset and everything is back to normal.
As long as something doesn’t get corrupted, a reset would take care of it.
Thank you for the video and instructions, but you should not have to factory reset. This is total BS. The equipment is not a subscription contract and therefore we have essentially purchased the equipment, which to my knowledge did not exclude the operating system. I'm not letting go of this one...more to come...
I’m not either but both my state and Utah states attorney generals won’t do anything. I’ve filed a complaint with the justice department for a violation of the ADA and next I’m going to Google about how they claim the Android operating system is proprietary.

If your machine doesn’t have a reset pin hole and you don’t have access within the software to perform a reset, then it can’t be done (as far as I know of).
Thanks and I was equally pissed off. Called them but the usual warranty disclaimer. I told I don't have the warranty and the guy said you still do have the motor warranty. Challenged him to burn the motor by turning on/off privilege mode, what nonsense!!! This is my machine, I paid for it and what's wrong if I wish to install an app on it??
They are trying to scam people, they need to be sued
Hi Big Nasty, Question 4 U (or anyone): 4 minutes in you show a HDMI slot. What is that for? Is it an input Can I use it to pump in Apple TV, Roku or maybe direct from an iPhone so I can watch Netflix or Prime via a 3rd party that way? Or is that restricted also?
It’s an output to an external monitor or TV.

My current 2006 Pacemaster Silver Select XP is so well-built, that 16 years of constant use, it has outlived the company. This was without even a deck-lube or any maintenance.
So, i’m gonna look for a simple T-mill that gives me the freedom to park an iPad in-front of and not have to pay a monthly subscription. This way, if i want to go for a run in Costa Rica, i’ll just buy a bl00dy plain ticket using the $$$ that i saved!
However, I do welcome any suggestions on an ideal treadmill that is somewhere between the Pacemaster and the Nordictrack with a non-folding, 4hp+, decline/incline, 12mph+, 60”+ deck and some software bells and whistles that I have more control of. I dont mind leveraging iFIT, as long as i can unsubscribe and still take back control.

I have the X22i, which has no pinhole to factory reset. I had to call the number on the privilege mode screen. Lie to technical support saying it was glitchy after the update. (A software problem). Then he gave me the privilege code and i clicked facory reset mode in the settings. Now i can listen to Pandora on the damn treadmill i paid for.
I thought the pinhole was next to the HDMI port on the left side of the display.
The X22i doesn't have that same HDMI port nor can it seem to have a reset button
@@FargoUT you’ll have to go into privilege mode, call the number for the code, then do a factory reset through the menu.
I have the x22i, the pinhole is on the left side of the screen about halfway down.

I felt the same. Called many times. Follow them on social media and every time they post something post a negative comment. They hate it. Post stories about the company and tag them.
So, thank you for showing us how to do what you did in the video; I still have an active sub to iFit so I want the best of both Worlds, does anyone know yet how to sign back into a live iFit account and still retain Proviliged mode? (I like iFit, my wife uses Netflix - so we need both options)
You should still be able to log into iFit while still having access to priv mode but as soon as iFit updates, you’ll get the code when trying to get back into priv mode.
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY correct. I followed your tutorial today. Ifit works at first and then goes into a constant update loop that blocks you from everything except manual mode. Ifit will not connect to WiFi as long as we have privilege.
With x22i should you be able to turn off machine (power) and still have Privilege mode when you power back up?
As long as it doesn’t update, you should.
11/04/21 followed procedure. It totally worked but after the first time it went to sleep it is stuck in a mode of not recognizing WiFi and locking out of IFit. I have to factory reset and allow it to take away priv mode to be able to use the machine. 22cycle and 22rower.
After you factory reset, go into priv mode and set a pin on the screen lock. That should keep it from pulling down an update on its own. Then, if ever asked, don’t let it update. What sucks is if you want priv mode, you sacrifice iFit because it needs to update for the latest content.
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY i had my privilege mode "on" for a while. This morning, the belt stopped working. I had go factory reset to make it work again, but as soon as I unlock the privilege mode and download Netflix, it locks the belt again... i didn't even let the firmware upgrade! I'm pretty upset because of this.
Does the factory reset still work? I tried on mine and it stated that it was ERASING and INSTALLING UPDATE.
After the update, it looks like it did a factory reset, but with newer software. I didn’t connect to wifi yet and it allows me into privileged mode for now. I’ll wait until someone figures out what to block on the router before I reconnect. I’m definitely not renewing my ifit subscription after being screwed with like this. They think locking down privileged mode will encourage people to subscribe to their service. Just the opposite here. Forget them.

How do I reset on a 2450? I only have one hole that just shows me a volume icon on the screen
I don't think that model has a factory reset. I looked in the manual and there's nothing in the manual on a factory reset for that model.
Funny , did you play with different versions of Android? I wanted to play around with different version that does not have a Toutch screen so I can use my iPad and stream to big screen . /?
You can’t install different versions of Android. You’re stuck with what’s on the treadmill.

I ran into same CODE issues today and tried to follow the instructions from the video but realized my NordickTrack C990 treadmill doesn't have reset pinhole unfortunately for hard/factory reset. This treadmill has only HDMI and USB ports but no pinhole as shown in the video. Seems I am forced to call customer support for CODE though! I
Yeah, get the code to do the reset and then you’ll be able to get into privileged mode without a code (as long as you don’t update it).
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY Sir, I called the support today and the support guy was not only very rude but also hung up on me, he asked for reason and I said "the update was not good and acting up, I need it to troubleshoot". He kept asking me "Why you need code for it"? Now it seems they put permanent lock code on the kernel.
@@newsnetworkz I would tell them that you need access to the accessibility options and if they ask why, tell them it’s none of their business. Once you get in, you can do a factory reset back to the version prior to the code.
It worked for me, but then went to work, came back. It had locked me out even with the PIN number.. and went back to passcode. Should I log off wifi every time I’m so stressed
What you need to do is do the factory reset, once your back into privileged mode, don’t update iFit. Updating iFit is what locks you out. I would also file a complaint with your state attorney general against iFit and Nordictrack. That’s what I did.

@@joshpeters8351 as bad as this may seem (since we are in the 21st century), I had to hand write it. All you need to do is reference that you’re unable to access accessibility options for the disabled and that Android is an open source operating system that iFit is restricting access to.

While writing this back I received a call back from a survey I did for NordicTrack - they just repeatedly said, watching netflix and using the browser was not the original intention of the tablet, and that using netflix opens me up to a security breach. Repeatedly told her back that using an android app, on an android tablet, does not cause me concern of any security breach... Anyhow, long shot, but I'v reset, set the pin, and put in Airplane mode, with WiFi on, to see if it will hold privilage mode... Thanks!
@@joshpeters8351 You should have asked her why the android OS version is so behind if they were so concerned for security? Mine is on 5.1.1 and there are over 3,000 security vulnerabilities on it.
Does privellaged mode stay on when you turn off the treadmill? Or do you have to reset it again
Last I checked it does, as long as it isn’t unplugged or upgraded.

When it’s done, you can do the sequence to back into priv mode but if asked to upgrade, select “No” or it will add the code issue to get into priv mode.
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY every time I factory reset it, exactly how the website you commented says, I get nothing but a black screen and and a circle that says ‘installing system update’. After that, I’m on the ifit ‘get started’ page, where there is a pop up that says ‘connection error, please power cycle your device.’ I don’t know how to power cycle it, however if I say ok to the pop up and try to get into privileged mode, i get in with no problem. I can di whatever I want at that moment, including setting a pin, however the moment I turn the device off, and turn it back on, it asks me for my pin and once I put it in, it locks me out of privileged mode. I have heard that if I don’t update ifit, it could help fix it, however if I don’t update it, the device constantly refreshes making it almost impossible to use. I’m sorry if this is hard to understand, English is not my first language, but if you know what I can do, please let me know. Thank you
@@devmishra6064 To power cycle, either unplug and plug it back in or turn off the switch by the power cord. When I reset, I hold the reset switch with a paperclip until it reboots 3 times.

i tried this. i have proform 2000 series. i hit the factory reset with a clip and turn on the machine but it was updating on its own. tried tapping it again and privilege moded code pops up.
Did you hold the clip until it reboots 3 times? Just holding the clip does a reset but holding it longer actually resets the OS.
My machine is similar. While it was running the first update I opened privilege mode and set the the screen lock code and never sleep option. Machine finished updating and privilege me is still there... So far.
Thanks for the detailed instructions. I want to try this for my X22i to restore privilege mode access. Is this hack still working? Also, can I still use my iFit subscription with this?
The process still works but using iFit may require you upgrade and then you’ll be stuck with the code prompt issue to get into priv mode.

Yes, until we can get iFit to stop blocking, it will affect that since they have to update it for you to use it.

At least you have a hdmi. The newer 2019 version the buggers took it out. And they don't want you to stream to big screen tv, That is called pyramid, scheme company. They are trying to force you to buy proprietary equipment and force you to buy a bigger screen and keep you without options as a customer not very nice business practice.. that said, my wife loves the iFIT. I wish it could be on the big screen like my 75 inch TV.. it would be nice if I would come out with an adaptor or a Bluetooth receiver so I can transmit to my big screen TV and make money on me buying the little HDMI receiver. I'd be OK with that but give me the damn option.

If it has the pin hole to reset, then it should work. Some have a setting “reset to default” or something like that in the software.

I just got the commercial 2950. When I use a paper clip to try to factory reset, it does nothing. Not sure on my next step…any advice?
Make sure the paper clip is at the top of the slot (towards the screen). The button inside is much smaller than that slot the clip goes in. You should feel it depress when you’re pushing the reset button.
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY Mine doesn't have the slot like yours. It just has 1 little pin hole. I did depress so it so I heard a click. It did nothing when I held it down. Not sure what to do next...

But I DID put the paperclip into the hole next to it and heard it click when depressed. I held it down for 5, 10, and then 20 seconds thinking maybe I had to leave it depressed for a while. No luck so far...

PLEASE HELP. I was using Manual mode in Privilege Mode and somehow the console got completely wiped. I have no option to see my distance, speed or incline during workouts. Nordictrack says I shouldn’t have been in Privilege Mode because when it wipes from there now I need to but a BRAND NEW console, even though it is powering and all just the manual option to see the menu and see stats while working out won’t work. Any idea what I can do???
What model is it? You need to factory reset. If you have access to the settings, you should be able to do a full reset.
@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY hi thank you for replying! It is a Nordictrack Commercial 1750 model no. NTL14116.0. I cannot find a pinhole to reset anywhere on the machine. Customer service said it was manufactured in 2017 and maybe jt doesn’t have one because it doesn’t say anything about a pinhole on the manual either. All I see if a reset switch “off/reset” which isn’t doing anything
If you look at the top edge of the console, is there a pinhole? That’s the reset. Turn on the treadmill, let it fully boot, then use a paperclip and hold down the button inside that hole for about 30 seconds.

@@1SpudNuts1BigNasty-DIY Thanks for the suggestions! But nope, no reset pinhole anywhere on the machine. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting as well. It seems it’s stuck in Privileged Mode and all apps and options have been wiped, including those allowing iFit manual setting and options to edit settings or download anything on the screen. Do you know if there is a way to get a new SD card with the software and put that into the console tablet? Or a way to reset internally with no pinhole?
It worked great up to where it wanted to do update number 2, it then removed my privilege mode. You mentioned that you turned off privilege mode before you did that second update, how do I turn that off and back on again? I believe that’s the stuff I didn’t do
Once an upgrade removes privileged mode and puts in the restriction, you have to factory reset to get back before the upgrade. Sorry, blame iFit/NordicTrack.

You can turn priv mode on and off but once you do that update, you’re stuck with having to call and get the code and that’s temporary.

@@cullentorquay8795 The only way is to use the firewall in your router (or a separate firewall) to block traffic from your treadmill, but has to be very specific or you won’t get access to the internet for Netflix or anything else you wish to use.
Does it work on newer machines?
You’ll have to test and see. Resetting only works if it takes the machine back to a version prior to the start of the privilege mode code.
When I press the reset button it just pulls up volume controls now
Holding in the reset button while turning on and off the machine seemed to do the trick

I don't have a reset button on commercial 2450 treadmill. I've been on phone with ifit for 2 weeks now and can't keep it from crashing
@@davidmulligan1761 I think the 2450 doesn’t have the pin hole reset. Have you tried to power cycle it? I mean, unplug, let sit for a few and plug it back in. Make sure to turn off the power switch before unplugging. Does it come on at all? At least with enough time to get to the maintenance menu?

I tried this and it worked great, until I shut the treadmill off. My admin rights were gone again
Part of the setup is telling it to never sleep. Just leave it on. It's minimal power draw without the motor running.

@@Alice-gk1zj if you’ve lost priv mode, you’ll need to do a reset, go into priv mode and then look for it in the settings. Also, set a screen lock pin.
Do you have to do this every time to machine goes to sleep?
You shouldn’t have to as long as you don’t let it upgrade. Setting a pin/password on the screen sleep will prevent an upgrade in the background.
Forcing people to use iFit is not good.
Someone should figure out how to root and make a custom ROM for these.

Yes, it’s just Android but iFit/Nordictrack are trying to block owners from accessing it by forcing a code to where you have to call their customer support.
