If you´re on Resolve 17, try selecting all in Trim mode, then (*this is the important part*) tap the "U" key two or three times until you see the end of the clips gets selected then do the trick. This is because it either has to be all ripple trims (on either side of the cut) or all rolling edits. But not a mix of rolling edits and ripple edits.

That trim edit technique to lengthen or shorten the pics and add cross fades is awesome. Wish I knew that this weekend.... Thanks Casey!
An adjustment clip can be used across multiple photos to zoom in (good if using 4X3 photos on a 16:9 video)

I have the same but maybe because I am using V17 Beta. Work around is to select Davinci Resolve from the toolbar and then preferences. Now select User (will default to System) and then editing on the left hand side. Under general settings you will see the option to change the standard still duration. Note if you have added pics to the timeline you will need to delete them and re-add them as it only takes effect for newly added images. Hope this helps.

Stills have always been an issue at least for me, and that goes back to around 2002 when I got more into video coming from years and years of PowerPoint shows. My own demo reels get bogged down because some of my more attractive examples are only available on stills or I want to show photography projects, not just video clips.
Resolve is definitely making the process more bearable and imaginative.

You are 4 days late Casey. 4 days ago my friend asked for help to create a similar slideshow of photos for his daughter's school project. I am a Resolve Newbie and struggled like hell.
I had to apply that dynamic zoom Individually by putting on key frames on each photo clip, and for some reason I struggled with it due to clips being together. So I created multiple video tracks and did it. In the end, it turned out well....
Thanks for Making the process so easy now.

I select all pictures (14 pieces) then I press Trim edit mode but after that only on the first does the time change to 9 seconds... In Resolve 16 worked perfectly. What sould I do to make all pictures at once to 9 sec long? Thank you!

Good video. The 'tash rules, btw. I use Resolve currently, and Premiere Pro before that... however, nothing seems to be able to come close to Encore's 'random pan and zoom.' This was amazing for dynamic slideshows. The only real way to (sort of) replicate this is via Fusion, and it's a mission to do when there are a lot of images.

How can I do this in fusion with two different animations. One coming in from the right, one coming in from the left and rotating while getting a frame, made slightly smaller over the same picture blurred for a background. Currently I have to apply this to each individual clip. Is there a way I can script this for 200-300 pictures and just pull each one into fusion as median1 doing one clip/photo after another. And further if I can do that, is it possible to apply my animations back and forth between right and left animations ...every other picture with a script? Basically I"m trying to drag and drop 200-500 photos onto the timeline then automate the fusion animation. All pics start out the same size, but have different names, although I could rename to a sequence number if necessary). sorry to be so long, I've been working on this almost daily for a month with very little progress. I'd appreciate anyone's assistance.
