Wow!...I was really impressed with all the valuable information n the clear, uncluttered way you explained the process. Great stuff. I've now subscribed Mr VES.
follow your step for colored border by open in fusion page. however, the image size is much smaller than the border. any tip to enlarge the image or scale down the border? thx
'allo. Would you consider showing how to make a slideshow completely in Fusion? I set off to try this morning and ran into issues right off the bat with the merge nodes acting almost as a mask and not allowing me to move my image across the full dimensions of the comp (set by transparent BG node). I found that if i removed the drop shadow from my images, i was able to move them wherever i want with the transform node, but i have not been able to figure out why the moment i introduce a drop shadow it starts to misbehave in unpredictable ways.
I wouldn't do it in Fusion as it wouldn't be very practical to do in my opinion. Fusion is great for short composition but for longer stuff I would just stick to the edit page. And I don't really see for a slideshow why I would have to go to the fusion page, everything can be done from the edit page and it will be more practical to adjust. What do you mean by misbehaving for the drop shadow?
@@VideoEditorStudio I think I figured out that I need to add a background node the same size as the project dimensions for each photo and transform after the fact, with the drop shadow afterwards, otherwise limited to the original dimensions of the photo, if that makes sense. It's a lot of work, yes, but allows me to move the photo wherever. I suppose I was just wanting to try in fusion and maybe use an image plane and see what sorts of things I could do to make for a more interesting slideshow with more motion. I like all the options I have in fusion but it can definitely be overkill for some tasks.
Not fully sure to understand what you're going for. But quick tip that could be helpful if you need to set up a null background every time, you don't have to use a new Background node each time. You can simply use the same one for all your photo by linking the Background node out put to the merge. Anyway, good luck with your projects!
@@VideoEditorStudio I think the problem came from a bunch of stacked merges nodes (happened when I dragged multiple photos into fusion at once). I guess each one should merge into the main line individually instead of stacked merges going onto the main. It's so hard to explain this without showing the node tree :)
If you're using the white border frame from the edit page it will affect the border of the viewer not of the actual image. That's why I'm using it in fusion and then scaling from the edit page. But what you could do as well is once you've dropped the effect on your clip you can create a compound clip and then reduce the size of this
Is there not an easier way to get the background colors to represent the picture values? I have a slideshow with hundreds of pictures so I cant go through each one selecting colors.
To my knowledge no, there's no way to automatically pull out automatically the color value and apply them to a background. To get that kind of result with a lot of picture, the last technic I'm mentioning with having the picture being a blurred background seems to be the best options if you want matching colors, if you want to have mouvement I would suggest activating dynamic zoom to have a slow zoom in.
@@VideoEditorStudio thanks for your reply. I was not asking about media pool “ but about specifically pop-up window with folders on the left and files slightly in the middle and finally big preview window on the right side. This is exactly on your video 027 sec. We spent hours researching how to do it, and it is impossible to find . We have the latest update on da Vinci resolve. Please help Thank you

When I try to import jpeg photos, they come in as one clip not individual jpegs in the media pool. How do I change it in Resolve 18?

I don't know why when I increase the frames of the photos, my imported audio speeds up too. What can I do to prevent it from happening?

- HOW CAN I ENABLE FILE PREVIEW LIKE YOU HAVE IT (027 SEC ON YOU VIDEO) - MINE HAS NO PRIVEW ON MAC DAVINCI 18.6 - THANK YOU
In the media pool you got different view options icons, like grid and list. Just select grid like it is selected on my video

4:21 how did you do that cut?
Hit B then you can cut in timeline, then to go back to regular cursor, hit A
