    This large of a generator may end up becoming a home run for a lot of people. They're good for power outages at home, run a small welder, a plasma cutter and quiet enough for camping.

    These are definitely the future. Paralleling is incredible. 2 of these in parallel will power most homes with ease. The price will continue to drop as well. So when my current 12000 watt conventional generator gives me my moneys worth the IHX series will be my next portable power solution.

      ⚠️Here are the safety rules of using portable generators. This is a very important announcement.
      It is important to follow all generator safety rules whenever we use portable generators:
      Everyone must see this. This is just a reminder for everyone’s safety.
      1) KEEPING OTHERS SAFE: Please do not allow an unqualified person or your children to operate and service the portable generator. Just because some manuals don’t say that doesn’t mean it’s safe. That is important against the generator safety rules. We also need to be keeping an eye on our children too. You need to make sure that your children are not playing near the portable generator especially when it’s running so they won’t get electrocuted. Generators pose electrical risks and they can be hot during an operation. Please keep your children away from the portable generator at all times. It is important to keep our children safe especially our little ones. Be aware of all the hazards.
      2) WHERE TO RUN YOUR GENERATOR: Some people use their portable generators indoors which increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. It’s important to have a carbon monoxide if you have a gas generator. Never ever use your generator indoors even if your doors and windows are open and even in the garage is not safe to use a portable generator. Not even at your porch and your deck. It is never safe to use your generator indoors and in enclosed areas of your home. Your generator needs to be 15-20 feet away from your house.
      3)🔥FIRE HAZARDS: Never refuel your generator while it’s running. You need to let your generator cool off before refueling it and before storing your generator. Never overload your generator too. Never ever back feed your generator. You should never plug your generator into a wall outlet. Also never store propane tanks indoors. Please keep flammable things away from the generator as well and please don’t smoke cigarettes near the generator. Having a fire extinguisher next to the generator is also important against the generator safety rules.
      4) GENERATOR OPERATION: make sure your hands are dry before touching the generator. Never use your generator in wet conditions. Don’t let your generator get wet. You need a generator tent if you need to use your generator during wet weather. Please don’t wear loose clothes when operating the generator. Turn on your generator before plugging in appliances. Use the right cord for your generator. Please do not use worn out cords.
      th-cam.com/video/I1jT3ANENvI/w-d-xo.html and here is a video more about keeping others safe when using generators
      Hope this helps. Please make sure you follow all the generator safety tips. Thank you

    As always, nice job. Would you consider doing a video on a dual fuel generator like this one, but show how you can use the onboard LPG Inlet to use natural gas instead of propane. Natural gas nipple out from the house run a gas hose to a natural gas regulator (must buy regulator hardware and hoses) and then from the natural gas regular into the onboard LPG inlet. So you're now making the unit tri-fuel. I think it would be an interesting project. And you're the perfect person to do it. Thanks.

      One thing you should advise people with this generator, in the currant winter storm, we lost power and I had to use the new gen set for the first time. Once I had switched off the main power, I fired up the Duromax 9000 and I had no power going to the house. after some trouble shooting of my wiring, found out that not only do you have to switch on the circuit breakers for the 240v plug, but also you MUST have the two 120v circuit breakers on as well. why? have no idea. After that it powered my whole house wonderfully. Love the new quiet running generator.

    Hey Gavin, found the original manufacturer as Senci China. They subcontract for Harbor Freight, Duromax and A-iPower. This unit is actually based on the international 240 volt version Senci SUA 8000i. I am assuming the figures of 8000 watt max and 7000 watt continuous running is more conservative. I would question the longevity of the Predator 9500 of 9500 watts max and 7600 watts running as concerning for long term safety of the unit before catastrophic failure of the inverter itself. Units sold in North America seem to over rate their specifications. I would run this generator at no more than 4000 watts to 5000 watts maximum continuous sustained operation. They are nice units but a word to the wise, run the at about 50% load and they will last much longer. Just thought you may want to know the origins of these generators. I do own the Duromax XP 9000 in, a very nice generator.

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Terry, Yep I appreciate your feedback thanks 🙏🏾. I spoke with all three manufacturers Duromax Predator and Ai-Power and yes you are correct that 50% should be where you run your generator for long term sustainability. 80% when turning on extra load like microwave coffee maker then back down to 50 - 60%.

      @Gavin’s Garage Thanks! One follow up. I believe I read that a bonding plug would need to be connected to the 240 outlet, not the 120. If that's the case, that outlet is now unavailable for use. Besides placing a switch on the now unbounded neutral or hooking the wires back up to the grounding post, is there another way to re-bond and still use the 240 outlet?

    Hi Gavin, I finally received my XP9000 this week. I did the setup and ran for about 15 min on propane today. It was around dusk so hard to see but I thought I saw a bit of smoke coming from the exhaust side but not so much from the exhaust pipe.
    After turning off heat was radiating from that area with a strong burning smell, so I took off the cover thinking something might be burning. Everything looked fine so I'm assuming it was just burn-off of the exhaust assembly from the heat given it's new.
    Did you have a similar experience or should I investigate further?

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Kirk that’s okay just assemble burn off. Run it in eco mode zero load for around 30 minutes then change your oil using conventional 10w30.
      Then you can start your break-in process try keeping it under 25% load for the first 50 hours, then change the oil again every 50 hrs. You can switch to synthetic 10w30 after 200 hours or 4 oil changes. Synthetic oil changes are 75 - 100 hrs
      Congrats buddy 👍🏾

    If you’re using this for house backup & you’re only using the 30A plug, it can only deliver 7200 watts maximum correct? So the 9000 watts starting & 7600 watts running is not going to matter if your ceiling on a single 30A 240v plug is 7200 watts?
