Sir, Happy New Year! I am a 56-year-old from Texas, USA, planning my world trip with my GSA in February 2024. Starting from Texas, I will travel to Central America, South America, ship the bike to South Africa, and then continue my journey through Africa, Europe, and Asia. Your videos are very encouraging and informative, especially for someone of my age. Thank you so much. I have learned a lot from your trips on how to travel wisely and enjoy the experience. I hope that one day we can meet.
I’m thinking of something similar in 26 - shipping my bike to the IUS then a year in the north then a year in the south. Sounds like a good trip mate, go for it…
Sir, thank you so much for your response. Once i start my trip next month, i will keep in touch. Enjoy your trip back home. Waiting for your next video. @@onemanonebike8514
My word, Barra has changed... You're an inspiration to elderly riders and youngsters especially. I have been living vicariously through your exploit since Ep. 1. Still am. Thanks for sharing. 🏍✨
@@onemanonebike8514 Thanks for your kind reply sir or should I say "ya auld pirate yaaar".🏴☠ The MUSIC! has been super, soothing, inspirational and sometimes fast paced which to my ears, can suggest slight jeopardy it also has my Shazam working overtime. Thanks for Ran The Man. Thanks for Daniel Kadawatha. 💓🏍
Thanks for posting the videos Ian , like i keep saying it keeps us motivated to do the same thing, love seeing all the old cars and vans that were once driving around the uk 🤣
Great vid as always, deffo would have driven an extra 200 miles to not go by boat - loved the way they jammed you in between two vehicles, that way you’re bike can’t fall over 😂 noticed the guy taking you’re ticket off when you got to the other side - guess what that goes back over the other side to be sold again 🤣😂 I’ve also worked out where all the nicked Mercs end up 👏🏻👏🏻 be safe ride safe - Ref you’re ear plugs and I know everyone has a different view I’ve been riding for over 50 years and never use them - concentrate on the ride and you’re surrounding - 😉
Happy new year ,I came across your Utube video because I visited the Gambia 12 times in the late 90,s . Memories have drawn me to your great trip and I certainly will follow you home. A envious biker........
happy new year to you! and safe onward travels! That ferry crossing was interesting! 😅. you have to wonder how close to maximum load they were, or how much over they were! 😂. nothing like a bit of local education to keep you on your toes! Shame about the comms module, although i’ve never ridden with music myself as yet.
Maybe consider talking a bit on camera while riding? I think telling us things, like how easy the border crossing etc was, would be much more engaging. Hope you're enjoying the trip though 👍
Sorry, but no. Its hard enough to ride some of these roads, but to chat away as well, its just going to take my concentration away from what I'm doing. And besides, who wants to hear yet more of me chatting....

It’s not survival of the fittest here, it’s survival of the fastest…!
What a journey. Thanks Ian. Stay save and don’t stop with your channel.
Its manic and everyone is chilled, in the UK i would probably been arrested 2 mins of the boat lol

Great contrast from the busy port to the open roads.Just what motorcyclists thrive on.
Happy New Year, keep uploading the videos. Stay safe

Organised chaos at it's best Ian, Happy Hogmanay Pal 🥃Slainte.

Bonjour Ian ,
Une très bonne année Olympique 2024!
Thanks so Much for your videos.

Ride safe !
that banjul ferry looked like fun !
About as fun as woodworm in a crutch mate… I wish I’d taken the bridge now. It was a looooong day.
Great to hear from you on your progress north. The ferry sounds nothing like the one at Sandbanks in Poole!
That's true!

Hi Ian. That brought some memories back. I did that ferry crossing a few years ago, both ways. I feel your pain.🤣
Tell me about it
Happy New Year Ian. Crikey that looks like organised chaos lol. Excellent video thanks. Regards Mal.
Good to hear from you - hope you can get a cable/new helmet unit on your travels. tealeaves everywhere 😠
Health and safety doesn't seem to exist as far as the ferry was concerned!! Enjoyed the last instalment, thanks Ian, happy new year to you.
A very Happy New Year to you. Thank you for sharing your experience..
TAHATS A bus driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy New Year and nice to see the channel growing
Happy and safe new year.
To think you used to think 40° was roasting and now it’s quite warm. I think you’re getting used to this traveling In the heat😊.
Today I was riding in 33 degrees and a bit later it dropped to 27 - and I had to zip my jacket up. Yes, I think I’m acclimatising…

A Happy New Year Ian. That was a crazy ferry ride! Could you tell me what tyres you run on your Vstrom please. Cheers👍
Motoz GPS. They're a 50/50 tyre. Hard wearing and long lasting.
Happy New Year, another great video 🎉
Same to you!
Happy new year Ian, lang may your lum reek
Good evening from Australia Ian
Hello there!
Bad news about the comms module - can you rig anything to your helmet direct to your phone? Alone with just your thoughts can be dangerous 😀
No. I removed some of the padding in my helmet and I've been using my bluetooth earbuds - which is a temporary fix....
Are you on your way home?
Er, yes. But slowly...
