Moja I find that sort of hard to say when Treyarch consulted Spetsnaz soldiers to see how they reloaded dual wielded pistols, uniquely so for the M1911.
weakestlink20 Something probably went wrong while they did that and I'll break it down for you so you'll understand why. I start off with a question for you, do you mean they asked (ex)spetsnaz how to reload the m1911 or just pistols, because I'm pretty sure a spetsnaz operator would never use a M1911. Here is why this reload makes zero sense. I recommend watching a slomo along side of my explanation. When both magazines are emptied the slider gets locked in a backwards position. Normally you would just have to release the magazines, put new magazines in the guns and hit the slide release. But in the BO reload animation, the magazines are emptied and the slide locks in a backwards position, the magazines get removed and for some unexplainable reason the guy hits the slide release before putting in a new mag, resulting in to a empty chamber. Instead of being done now, the guy flips his pistols forward, pulls back the slides (in reality the slides would now automaticly go back because the lock won't go up if you have bullets in the magazine) the slides then get locked, he flips the pistols back and hits the slide release. And I didn't even touch the subject wheter the movements were practical/realistic.

The m1911 was the worst pistol in Black Ops. As the man said. The ASP was faster. The CZ and makarovs had more bullets. The CZ had better range. And the Python was POWERFUL
I feel like they just fucked this gun up in BLOPS. For a .45 it has the same damage as a 9mm, but also fires as fast with little recoil. Also that nickel plating honestly looks fucking crap, what's wrong with the black with brown handle? I love me a 1911 but this one was the worst iteration of it.

I was very sad to see they made it so weak in this game. Should be more devastating considering all of the other pistols (excluding the python) fire the 9x19 parabellum round. Still used it anyway
the Makarov isn't 9x19 its 9x18 which (in real life) is just a little more powerful than a .380 but is still weaker than the regular 9mm and even weaker still to the all mighty .45 ACP but just like u said I cant believe they ruined the damage of the 1911 in this game
Yeah i knew the makarov fired the round comparable to the .380, so it falls even more to this gun. This gun was awful and should have been second in damage only to the python
And another thing, this game takes place in the Cold War, which was in the 60's. The M1911 was still in use then, and the AK47 was barely 10 years old. The 1911 and AK47 have pretty much been replaced now. The AK47 is only used by militias nowadays, and the 1911 was replaced by the M9.
The M1911 was conceptualized in 1911, the Tommy Gun was largely ignored by the military until a decade later, and the M1 Garand didn't come into existence until the 30's. It's not about "taking them down quickly" It's about knocking someone down or making them not move. A 9mm Parabellum goes in and out, a 45 acp takes out the back half of the exit wound. Their targets were getting hit and still running at them, they needed a bigger round in their sidearm.
The M9 from MW2 can also be regarded as a default pistol, as it is the default weapon of choice that is used when the player is in last stand. It is also the starting weapon of choice in Museum, a bonus level unlocked upon completing the campaign.
Why everyone find this gun too weak? I always do much better with m1911 ex mag than Python, i think this gun is good. But 98% reason i use this because it looks Smexy. Nickel m1911 is the best looking pistol ever

Your standard .45 acp pistol used in the Vietnam war. a healthy 6-7 round magazine however it has not to much of an impact with its low/medium damage, nothing to special but is good for a starter gun If you are slow and precise with your aim you could outperform some submachine guns Decently accurate and easy flowing recoil little to no recoil with standard pistol iron sights and very common on the battlefield ready for any sturdy soldier to pick up and leave a smile on their face. Now the United States Army is switching to the Sig Sauer P320 "XM17'. The Beretta was controversial in the fact that some soldiers weren't a fan of going from the .45 ACP to the 9mm.
I found information on that model, from the Colt website it says it is part of the 1991 series. It uses the .38 round which allows for a larger mag. All other pistols in that series use a .45 round and have 7 rounds. All standard M1911s (1991 series and series 70) have 7 round mags although there are different series with different versions of the gun that have larger mags such as the XSE series.
@Musicalshootings Wrong. It was actually designed some time before 1910 actually. It did enter service in 1911, that's why it's called the Model 1911. The term Model is only given to weapons that are in service. Remember, being used in combat and being put in service are two very different things.

There is a trade off for everything, high capacity thing included. Double stack mags make the pistol bulkier, and while the M9 may have more bullets, they are less powerful - presuming the same accuracy and a toughass target, you'll neutralize the enemy combatant quicker with the 1911. The .45's recoil is described as a smooth push rather than a hard snap; I hear it's more than manageable for grown men/women. As for reliability, IDK but some people swear by the old Colt and both have it good.
I wasn't saying that you were stating the .45 ACP is more powerful than a 5.56x45, but if you would like to bring that up, you're wrong. The 5.56 may be less than half the .45's frontal diameter, but at high velocities it yaws and fragments, creating a larger wound channel. In comparison, the 7.62x39 (AK-47's bullet) only yaws and usually makes a hole little wider or taller than its side profile.
I love the Colt M1911, its a true military classic. To be honest I hold little faith in the Baretta M9. Though I feel this gun is out-shined by a number of newer weapons like the H&K USP and MK 23, and FN pistols like the Five SeveN. This gun has been featured in many movies and games and the fact that both Naked Snake and Solid Snake used it makes it extra awesome. I love being able to use it in a Vietnam setting but I hate how the standard black finish model was replaced with a chrome one.

There's no set limit on the number of shots needed to incapacitate a human being. A lot comes down to shot placement and the target's determination. The M9 also carries more ammunition in the first place (9mm is a lot smaller), although soldiers are unlikely to actually require resorting to their sidearms anyway.
Now that you mention it, I've noticed that it's quite a bit faster than the other pistols. I guess it can't really be the weakest pistol without attachments, then. :P Another correction for Stu here; Duel Wield increases the M1911's firecap to the same as the ASP's.
In the past hundred years, yes, we saw the invention of semi automatic rifles and assault rifles. In the past 50 years, not really, we've seen the introduction of more modern weapons that have the same problems old guns have (guns will always jam when handled improperly). The AK47 is still in use because it rarely jams if ever, so it's easier to maintain. The 1911 has always been popular just because it's an excellent 45 pistol. The 1887 however is not common, I have no idea why they put it in.
The 1911 is a handgun with a relatively limited magazine. Seeing this, it is best to emphasize on a particular quality that partially makes up for that, its semiautomatic nature, and just being a handgun in general. It also should have different advantages in comparison to its alternatives, and as the 1911 in real life is known for its relatively powerful cartridge (for a pistol anyway), this is what should be focused on.
This is my favorite rendition of the pistol… It’s just a little silly knowing that this model is loosely based on a 1990’s Series 80 model of the Colt M1911 which was definitely not released in the 60s 😭
Exactly: The Deagle's advantages and disadvantages reflect those of its real life counterpart. It's powerful but has a lot of kick and a small magazine. The M1911 should deal higher damage than 9mm and .40 S&W pistols, with a lower capacity and perhaps a bit more recoil if appropriate. That's how it works in our world.
The FN45 was supposed to be a modern interpretation of the 1911. So he's right in a way.. but I agree with you I like steel guns like the 1911 instead of the plastic fantastic guns in black ops 2.
Black Ops weapon values work by a system of rounding. As 49.5 can be rounded to 50 (kindergartner math), this does indeed make the 1911 a 2 hit kill if both shots hit the torso.
It's also unreliable for military use, about as big as some smaller Uzi variants, and likely to blind you from the muzzle flash (particularly at night). Unfortunately, some people have yet to learn that the fact that a handgun is shiny and can be used to hunt bears doesn't make it good.
Try it with dual wield. Of course, 1911's dual wielded are quite the weapons too. Next to shotguns, they're the best weapons for marathon pro, prestige 15 lunging knife only players.
The M1911 is a beautiful weapon in it's own right, and it still serves a purpose, but for the generalist approach that war tends to favor, the M9 serves the purpose as a standard sidearm better.
@Battleoner They don't all kill at 3 bullets close up. The .45 is more powerful than 9mm. The fact that the .40 S&W firing P99 can kill at 2 means the .45s are really underpowered.
The NATO standard round was the 9mm Parabellum and most of the army inventory's 1911's were worn out. (thus, they decided to find a sidearm that, as previously mentioned, fit Nato's standards)
Because the .45 caliber round has more stopping power than the 9mm round in the M9. Meaning even though the M9 might have more rounds in the magazine the M1911 will kill in less shots (2 for a man less than 200lbs). The killing power of the M9 however would be 3 or even 4 shots which isn't very good for conserving ammunition.
John Browning was the man. The M1911, the BAR. He even invented the pump action shotgun (M1897 Trench Gun.) Oh and also the .50 Cal machine gun. Half of these guns are still in use today, almost unchanged.
Gree Heart They do so in hopes of making something more convenient, or better. Hence why the M9 replaced the M1911. Even though it fires 9x19mm, it holds more rounds than an M1911 can, and is easier to handle, courtesy of the round's smoother recoil compared to the .45 ACP.
Manageable recoil. It's still very random and hard to compensate with a mouse. That means you're dead in larger maps. I rarely see someone shooting down killstreaks, which is both good and bad depending on who's got the best player. Most people with Ghost on don't care about killstreaks and leave them alone. The PM63 fires much faster with less recoil. Even with Steady Aim on my second perk the reloads are fast enough so I use the grip. SPAS12 with silencer isn't obsolete.
M1911's recoil should be medium-low, but higher than the 9mm's. Guaranteed 2 hit kill sounds a bit OP. Give it 45 damage (lol), a 1.1 multiplier to the chest & stomach, and the same range as the 9mm pistols. Extended mags should be allowed, but it'll give only 3 more bullets for a total capacity of 10. If not, make the default magazine size 8. If the ASP had reduced range, it would probably need a extended mag attachment to compensate.
The necessity of a heavier round in a sidearm is FAR less important than in the past, with the massive use of Carbine weaponry, room clearing equipment, and a multitude of other tactics, the use of a sidearm has largely changed. The reason it was initially used (men not going down quickly enough) was a problem when primary weapons weren't nearly as well rounded. The M9 serves it's designation admirably. Politics and business reasons aside.
I wish this gun did more damage especially for a 45ACP gun it's such an amazing gun in real life I just wish it was as good in game

The AK47 is still in use because it rarely jams if ever, so it's easier to maintain. The 1911 has always been popular just because it's an excellent 45 pistol. The 1887 however is not common, I have no idea why they put it in.
i love the m1911, it is my favourite pistol in any cod game, and i would love to see it in the next game.

My favorite pistol. I use it with the three dot sights. I've also used it for real. Got all seven shots in the killzone at 25-30 yds
The 1911 is a handgun with a relatively limited magazine. Seeing this, it is best to emphasize on a particular quality that partially makes up for that, its semiautomatic nature, and just being a handgun in general. It also should have different advantages in comparison to its alternatives, and as the 1911 in real life is known for its relatively powerful cartridge (for a pistol anyway), this is what should be focused on.

Exactly: The Deagle's advantages and disadvantages reflect those of its real life counterpart. It's powerful but has a lot of kick and a small magazine. The M1911 should deal higher damage than 9mm and .40 S&W pistols, with a lower capacity and perhaps a bit more recoil if appropriate. That's how it works in our world.
Exactly, the higher power rounds (9mm, .45 ACP, etc.) can be used for military service, while the weaker ones (.380 ACP, .25 ACP, etc.) can't.

The FN45 was supposed to be a modern interpretation of the 1911. So he's right in a way.. but I agree with you I like steel guns like the 1911 instead of the plastic fantastic guns in black ops 2.
The Upgraded Iron Sights aren't too bad. Hell, there were some points in the Campaign where the Upgraded Iron Sights would've been very useful.
I think they look horrible on 1911 but others are nice

Black Ops weapon values work by a system of rounding. As 49.5 can be rounded to 50 (kindergartner math), this does indeed make the 1911 a 2 hit kill if both shots hit the torso.

It's also unreliable for military use, about as big as some smaller Uzi variants, and likely to blind you from the muzzle flash (particularly at night). Unfortunately, some people have yet to learn that the fact that a handgun is shiny and can be used to hunt bears doesn't make it good.
Try it with dual wield.
Of course, 1911's dual wielded are quite the weapons too. Next to shotguns, they're the best weapons for marathon pro, prestige 15 lunging knife only players.
The M1911 is a beautiful weapon in it's own right, and it still serves a purpose, but for the generalist approach that war tends to favor, the M9 serves the purpose as a standard sidearm better.
after a certain point I ditched practicality and had fun, Makarov silencer for that golden eye feel, m1911 and silencer for Wesker baby
@Battleoner They don't all kill at 3 bullets close up. The .45 is more powerful than 9mm. The fact that the .40 S&W firing P99 can kill at 2 means the .45s are really underpowered.

The M1911 was never replaced, it's still used by the United States Marine Corps under the name of the M-45 MEU(SOC).

The NATO standard round was the 9mm Parabellum and most of the army inventory's 1911's were worn out. (thus, they decided to find a sidearm that, as previously mentioned, fit Nato's standards)
Because the .45 caliber round has more stopping power than the 9mm round in the M9. Meaning even though the M9 might have more rounds in the magazine the M1911 will kill in less shots (2 for a man less than 200lbs). The killing power of the M9 however would be 3 or even 4 shots which isn't very good for conserving ammunition.

John Browning was the man. The M1911, the BAR. He even invented the pump action shotgun (M1897 Trench Gun.) Oh and also the .50 Cal machine gun. Half of these guns are still in use today, almost unchanged.

Gree Heart They do so in hopes of making something more convenient, or better. Hence why the M9 replaced the M1911. Even though it fires 9x19mm, it holds more rounds than an M1911 can, and is easier to handle, courtesy of the round's smoother recoil compared to the .45 ACP.

It was not Colt who designed the AR15, it was Eugene Stoner (who worked for ArmaLite).
Manageable recoil. It's still very random and hard to compensate with a mouse. That means you're dead in larger maps.
I rarely see someone shooting down killstreaks, which is both good and bad depending on who's got the best player. Most people with Ghost on don't care about killstreaks and leave them alone.
The PM63 fires much faster with less recoil. Even with Steady Aim on my second perk the reloads are fast enough so I use the grip.
SPAS12 with silencer isn't obsolete.
M1911 with dual wield has a slightly higher firecap than the other pistols so people with good trigger fingers can be more comfy with these pistols.

M1911's recoil should be medium-low, but higher than the 9mm's.
Guaranteed 2 hit kill sounds a bit OP. Give it 45 damage (lol), a 1.1 multiplier to the chest & stomach, and the same range as the 9mm pistols. Extended mags should be allowed, but it'll give only 3 more bullets for a total capacity of 10. If not, make the default magazine size 8.
If the ASP had reduced range, it would probably need a extended mag attachment to compensate.

The necessity of a heavier round in a sidearm is FAR less important than in the past, with the massive use of Carbine weaponry, room clearing equipment, and a multitude of other tactics, the use of a sidearm has largely changed. The reason it was initially used (men not going down quickly enough) was a problem when primary weapons weren't nearly as well rounded. The M9 serves it's designation admirably. Politics and business reasons aside.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you about that the M1911, all the handguns even are badly done in Black Ops.
I love them duel wielded for some reason. I feel like I get more kills with them than any other secondary.
