    Great job, nice information video!
    I wonder if Ford Motor Company back in Detroit ever watch these videos and what they think knowing their Bronco 2's are still being driven and desired?

      Thanks, I don’t know if my videos have been taken that seriously by ford but seems like the new bronco sport is kinda like todays equivalent to the bronco 2. A little less traditional of an suv but still has more off-road ability than most of the crossovers. So I think yeah they noticed the love for the smaller rugged suv.

      It’s amazing what a working o2 sensor can do.

    Nice find, or at least nice that you found that. I think I may have discovered the problem with my BII. Today I had an oscilloscope hooked up monitoring the PIP and SPOUT voltages and the primary ignition current. The engine died then restarted and stumbled. When it did that the primary ignition and the SPOUT signals completely dropped out. There was still a PIP signal but it was only about 80% of its usual voltage and it appeared to be missing the characteristic shoulder so it looks completely messed up, as though it's a repetitive, weak cylinder 1 signal. I just ordered a new distributor figuring the problem must be the Hall effect sensor. It's so bizarre that it only does this occasionally. EDIT: I repeated the last drive I took that made it act up, but with the new distributor installed it ran perfectly.

      Nice, glad you found yours. I sold my b2 still had the problem. Heard back from the second owner after me that a fuel pump was the ultimate fix.

    Just found your site. Good info. Just replaced iacv, next is o2 sensor and egr/evr . My b2 runs great but 35 years, could use some new parts. Gonna be watching your videos. Thanks for keeping B2 line going.

      Thanks! Yeah the old girls need some love from time to time. But it’s cool to take it places because you can be almost certain you are the only b2 there.haha. Thanks again for watching, I appreciate it.

    Great looking Bronco! Same thing happened to my 87 Ranger 2.9 but my harness completed melted and I can't see the colors. Any way you could tell me what color wires go to the black wire and the 2 white ones? Haynes manual doesn't help because its color coded where it burned off. I'm at a loss. Sure would appreciate it!

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It’s been a little while since I did it so I don’t remember off hand, but. Took a picture of the bad connector and from what it looks like I think the green wire went to the black wire and the gray and black wires went to the white wires. I’m not 100% sure about it but that’s what it looks like. I hope that helps! Good luck!

    This has made me so mad I was at a ford dealer and for 9 months non of us could figure out why mine runs like shit after a few min of running . Watching this . I belive that this might be my problem . I feel so stupid for forgetting about o2 sensors

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it took me months to think I should try changing the o2. It’s easy to forget about them on the older cars because they don’t really set a check engine light or anything. Hopefully you can get yours up and running good now!

    1. Always diagnose and check the parts in question before buying anything…2. Chk to see if any codes show up,,3. Good luck

    How fast does your bronco go top speed? I have one i got and seems kinda slow i think it’s normal though

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the fastest I saw was in the 80s, didn’t get there quick but it would get up there and maintain it ok. It was definitely one of my slower vehicles I had.lol

    Hey man, I heard big bear and utah. I just got my 89 Bronco 2 running. My brother lives in SLC and i live in socal about an hour and a half from big bear. I would love to link up with you. I have the v6 2.9. Eventually want to swap in the cleveland.

      Nice! It’s a great feeling to get a project going! Yeah sounds like we are in a similar area and there’s not many b2s around anymore, I tend to go to the cars and coffee events around southern Riverside county maybe I’ll see your rig at one, or maybe out on a trail. Yeah the 2.9 gets hem around but v8 power would be great!

      I actually found them on Amazon for a early explorer and made them work on the b2. I did a video on it with a link in the description.

    How do you do the rear pre runner fenders

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the quarters were trimmed to give the bigger tires clearance, then sealed so the road grime doesn’t get thrown up in there. Then you basically just line them up to where you want them, and mine were attached just using screws. There are probably better ways to do it but that way was simple. They were on it when I got it.

    friend could you show or show how you did to lift the suspension, thank you in advance new subscriber excellent content

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks and welcome to the channel! As far as the suspension goes it is actually stock still. But the way it is able to clear the 32 inch tires is the stock fenders in the front have been replaced by aftermarket fiberglass prerunner fenders, and the back has fiberglass prerunner over fenders that screw on and the rectory quarter panels have been trimmed to clear. For the most part there are no clearance issues, only if you get kinda aggressive off road the back tires will run the inner quarter panels a bit. I would like the truck to handle better off-road though so I’m thinking one of the next modifications will probably be one of the James duff lift kits, like the stage 3 3 inch lift.

      @@tackettgarage4982 I actually got the James duff lift kit yet to install it but it's comn. Think it's the 3inch lift with a 2inch body lift, hoping to be able to get atleast 33s on it. Would love to do a motor swap 302 just don't know where to begin looking??

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Sounds like it should clear I would think. V8 swap is definitely on my wish list too. Seems like from what I read you almost have to swap most of our drivetrain because it will go bad with the extra power. My thought has been between a 302/5.0 with an older style c4 transmission or maybe a Chevy small block v8 because the parts for them are so affordable and there are so many options of tuck headers and stuff for swaps that it might be easier/cheaper. That part is still in the dream stage for me.haha

    Where did you get your cold air intake for your bronco???

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually made it. I bought a generic one that I think was for a Honda of some sort(civic or something) and I trimmed it to fit good. Had to get the right coupler to connect it to the throttle body I forget the sizes now but it was a step down to get to the right size. Then I changed the filter out and put on one of those filter wears on the filter.

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I made the intake before I started making the TH-cam videos but I posted one called Air Filter Upgrade which is the one where I changed the filter and you can get a better look at the intake.

    My bronco 2 made it home one night and the next day it wouldn’t start so I replaced the in tank pum and the rail pump and the filter and it still is not getting fuel to the rail do you have any advice on what I can do?

    • @tackettgarage4982
      @tackettgarage4982  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My first thought is are the pumps coming on? Usually if you just turn the key on the pumps should prime. If it’s not I would start checking like fuses, relays, and I think these will have the inertia switches hidden in the interior that are supposed to turn the fuel off if the the car rolls over. If they seem to be working maybe something happened in the tank at the pump there maybe a connection in there to the pickup got weird, or there’s always the obvious checking to see if there is gas in it.lol

    • @billyhenderson765
      @billyhenderson765 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah there is gas and I hear the one under the seat kicking on but I can’t hear anything from the tank so I will have to check that by unhooking the fuel line right after the tank and see if it is even pumping
