I just picked one of these up. An 87 Eddie Bauer with the 2.9. These videos are super helpful.

I was also dumb enough to purchase a 1988 B2 for a daily. Similar issues, replaced the entire ignition system suspecting module problems but mine turned out to be the high pressure fuel pump itself

I wonder if there is a way to convert a 2.9 from obd 1 to obd 2 because im pretty sure that you could see a lot more that goes on if you plug it into a laptop idk im just rambling anyway super neat video thank you for making it.

Take a NINE VOLT battery n alligator clips to the 2 pins on IAC n WATCH the PIN move inside the housing, my original would BARELY move New one snaps like a tiger...

After this April ice storm...I'll go check mine. Mine tends to surge idle after it has warmed up. 88' Bronco 2 fuel injected. I'll report back with my findings.

@@JunkTrucks Initial test. .97 DC volts tested the way you showed. I call that close enough to rule out my TPS as the issue for my surging idle. Next: I try and troubleshoot the idle air control valve.

@@Z-Bart Have you checked for vaccum leaks?

@@JunkTrucks No. I'm 64 and hard of hearing. That's probably where the issue is though.

What two slots did you jump to get the fuel pump going again? I’m having issues with not getting any fuel and I’d like to try what you did there before I buy a new relay. Only getting 6 volts at the inertia switch. Open to suggestions on what else to check, this is all new to me.

For me atleast when I didn’t have fuel pumps it was never the inertia switch, for jumping the wires it should be just the two biggest slots. Im also running into a issue where I have a broke wire in the harness that goes to the fuel pumps, I haven’t looked into it yet but that’s causing mine to go in and out as well.
