    Excellent work as always, using the central hole for a finger hold is ingenious, and the layered look on the handle scales came out beautifully

    저는 조립식 소형 화목난로와 참나무 장작을 싣고 캠핑을 자주 다니는데요, 장작불 피울 때 장작을 잘게 쪼개야 합니다. 그래서 캠핑용 칼을 알아보면 1095 고탄소강으로 만든 MORA 캠핑용 칼이 2만 원대이지만, 칼끝이 뾰족하여 별로 구하고 싶지 않았습니다. 그러던 중, 중고 주방용품 가게에서 칼 두께가 적당하고(3mm 정도) 재질이 하이스강으로 보이는 회칼을 2천 원에 구입하여 철공소에서 뾰족한 끝부분을 거의 수직에 가깝게 잘라 뾰족한 부분을 없애버리고, 참나무 장작을 쪼개보니 정말 칼이 휘어지지도 않고 잘 들고 좋더라고요. 이 칼의 손잡이 부분을 다시 만들려고 낡은 손잡이를 쪼개보니 맨 끝부분에 구멍이 하나 밖에 없어요. 최소한 아래 위로 구멍이 2개는 있어야 손잡이를 고정하고 장작을 쪼갤 때 칼등을 타격해도 그 충격을 견딜건데... 할 수 없이 가느다란 손잡이 철에 밴드를 감아 사용 중인데요, 위 동영상 원형 톱날이 하이스강으로 알고 있는데, 위 동영상 칼 손잡이에 구멍을 뚫으신걸 보니 사장님께서 하이스강에 구멍을 뚫을수 있는 공구를 가지고 계시는 군요. 제가 가진 칼 손잡이를 사장님께 의뢰하고 싶습니다. 비용이 얼마나 들까요?

      제임스본드 형님 장작용칼을 구매하시는게 훨씬빠르십니다, 한국에도 나대라고 장작용칼이 따로 있어용, 검색하시면 판매도 합니다~ 장작용으로 짱입니다~

      톱날을 탄소강(sk5)입니다.
      하이스강톱날도 있지만 일반적으로 원형톱날은 탄소강으로 많이 제작을합니다.
      하이스강은 구멍뚫을때 일반적으로
      초경기리로 뚫는데 저도 하이스강 뚫을때 보통 날2개씩은 깨먹는것 같아서 하이스강은 왠만하면 안건드리고 싶어해요;;;

      답변 감사드립니다. 저는 금속을 볼 줄 모릅니다. 참나무 장작을 칼등이 두꺼운 무쇠 부엌칼로 쪼개보면, 곧은 참나무는 쪼개지지만 가지가 달려 나뭇결이 휘어진 부분을 쪼갤 때는 두꺼운 무쇠칼도 칼이 휘어지데요. 그런데 제가 이번에 구한 이 회칼은 칼등 두께가 3mm에 불과하지만 나뭇결이 휘어진 부분을 쪼갤 때도 칼과 칼날이 휘지 않고 날도 빠지지 않으면서 참나무 장작을 쉽게 쪼갤 수 있었습니다. 고탄소강인지 하이스강인지... 잘 모르겠어요. 초경기리 가격이 비싼가요? 제가 그 가격 부담하기로 하고 제 칼에 구멍 1개만 뚫거나 칼 손잡이를 사장님께 의뢰하면 안 될까요? 혹시 된다면 초경기리 값과 수공비를 알고 싶습니다.

    오늘도 잘 봤습니다.
    제가 지화자님 처럼 제조허가를 받지도, 전문적으로 만드는 사람도 아니라서 칼은 만들지 않습니다만.
    손잡이 만드는 건 외국 유튜버들 영상이랑 지화자님 영상보면서 많이 공부하고 있네요.
    1.다음에는 G10 플레이트처럼 한겹 한겹 색이 다른 천을 겹쳐서 만들어보시는 건 어떨까요?
    다듬으면서 새로운 패턴의 무늬가 나올 수도 있고, 이왕 손수 만드시는 거면, 다른 재료의 천이나 종이 같은 거로 만들어보는 것도 괜찮을 것 같습니다.
    2.순간접착제로 표면강화 하는 건 나무 반지나 만년필 몸통 만들 때 많이 봤는데, 칼 손잡이에 하는 건 지화자님 버전이 처음이네요. 저는 순접 바르고 뿌리는 스프레이가 에어 스프레이 종류 인 줄 알고 있었는데, 경화제 종류 였군요.
    3.순접 몸에 안 좋은데 다음에는 라텍스 장갑 끼시고 하세요. 저도 카페에서 일 하다보니 손에 물이나 커피 가루 많이 묻히고 일해서 손이 자주 갈라지고 틉니다. 커피가루도 이정도인데 쇳가루나 나뭇가루도 손에 안 좋을 것 같아서 말씀 드립니다.
    4.기회가 된다면 지화자님 디자인의 제주 나대 만드는 영상도 보고 싶네요. :)

    영상 잘봤어요. 저도 드라이커터날 있어 주머니칼 하나 만들었는데...꼭 열처리를 해야하나요? 어짜피 커터날도 열처리 돼서 나오지않나요???산소로 열처리하면 꼭 금이 가고 부서지는데...어떻게 하는지 노하우 좀 갈쳐주세요...있는것은 산소절단기 뿐이네요

    저도 비슷하게 만들어봤는데 항상 열처리가 문제인것같습니다. 날도 좀 무딘것같고 날도 강하지않은것같고...
    혹시 그냥 토치로. 벌겋게달궜다가 물이나 식용유에 식히면 괜찮을까요? 그리곤 템퍼링은 건너뛰어야합니다 장비가없어서....

      간단하게는 토치로 달궈도 되는데
      2~3개정도 사용해서 골고루 달궈주는게 좋겠지요.
      온도를 알수없으니 달군상태에서 자석이 붙지않으면 바로 기름이나 물에 담궈식혀주시면 됩니다.
      템퍼링도 중요한데 장비가 없다면 굳이 안해도 될것 같아요

      병때개는 아니고 원래용도는
      가축을 잡거나 사냥후 동물의 창자를 자르기위해 저렇게 홈을 파두는데 요즘은 그냥 줄을 자르거나 그런용도로 사용을 하죠
