Way too many complaints of codes with pedal commander including from my dealer who actually suggested I get the Sprint Booster instead...installed it last week and it's fantastic, plus I love all the extra features
Rob, as the guys below have said based on research they have seen complaints of all of sudden getting codes, and when they disconnected it, the codes cleared. I think we found these by reading the comments in the reviews of the various boosters. Good luck with yours. I hope if you keep it and it gives you a problem you let us know. But the blue tooth is a nice feature.
I've enjoyed your channel based your “down-to-earth” style, the little details that pass many Taco owners by and not getting out of control with expensive upgrades that are not practical for most of us who use it as a daily driver. We already have many Taco fanatic off-roader and overland enthusiast channels that are pretty repetitive, some providing contradictory information depending on their ties with “product” promotion. I don’t believe any evaluate product and then return it, so no matter how objective they try to be, they are receiving $ value in return for an evaluation and these items have to be reported on their business taxes. I'll reinforce those who are asking for a comparison between the Sprint and Commander. They both appear to do the job but what are the distinct characteristics between each (other than the Bluetooth interface) that makes one more appropriate for day to day use than the other. I would think that most of us are looking for more consistent performance across a variety of conditions but not at the cost of long-term reliability. We would never consider redlining and for some, want to make it into the 300K club. :-) As also noted, I'm not sure how your enhanced air intake system also affects their performance. Maybe it’s best to use the stock and retest both units. And now that your channel has taken off and manufactures are offering product to test, you’re going to need to set up “protocols” to evaluate similar products as they come along as in this case. Thanks for the great channel…
Hey Rob, is your truck push button start or key start? I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR5 with key start, and for some reason my screen doesn't turn off like yours do. Can anyone shed light on this?
Here's what I want to see... a comparison between a tune that addresses pedal sensitivity and lag yet also addresses "searching for 6th gear" and a Pedal Commander/Sprint Booster device. Having someone do the tune is about the same price but addresses more issues, from what I've heard. The other thing I thought I saw was that the "tunes" disappear if you use cruise control?! So, I'm probably only going to get budget approval for one $300 purchase, either a tune or an acceleration device. Help me pick out which one ;-)
The risk and hassle of tunes isn’t worth it to me. You’re putting faith in (usually) a stranger messing with the vehicles brain. With Pedal Commander you can adjust the sensitivity yourself and it only affects throttle response. In the end, you have to go with what you’re comfortable with.

Bro the current gen taco is ass
Did you have a bad experience with one?
@@RobMotive really bad experience I had a 2016 trd sport & had brake failure I flipped thank god nothing happened to me. And luckily insurance payed off what I owed and I got $ back
Now that is a bummer! I can understand why you feel the way you do😬
👍😎
Wow, now I'm thinking bout the commander, but I like the smaller inconspicuous size of the sprint booster, so I may still go with it. As far as the lag elimination, is it the same on both commander and booster from your experience??
Definitely go with what you like the best. My goal is to try different options and give my impressions of them. The difference between the two is functionality and appearance. I do prefer the Bluetooth connectivity option👍
Go with the pedal commander u won't be disappointed. Just don't change modes while you're driving!
