  • If you have to photograph different exposures because the scene's dynamic range is too much for the camera, here is a quick video on how to merge the exposures in Lightroom Classic.
    From a previous photograph, I took on the Southdevon coast.

    Hi, I just stumbled on your video; thanks for posting. I am a new photographer and wondered what HDR was all about and why photo stack. Keep the videos going, buddy. Awesome. P.s. I've just subscribed to your chancel.

    Are you sure you need to do noise reduction before HDR? My understanding is that DNG is equivalent to RAW, except it is an Adobe RAW file rather than a camera specific raw file. And that all RAW processing options are available on DNG just as they are on the camera-specific RAW files.

    • @SebastianBevanPhotography
      @SebastianBevanPhotography  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      In my version of LRC I can not apply noise reduction to a HDR.dng file, the little box says “Denoise is not currently compatible with this photo format”. So fingers crossed we will be able to in the future 😃👍

      @@SebastianBevanPhotography oh. I realize now you were referring to the newest AI version of Denoise that Adobe introduced. I’ll have to test on my setup to see if I have the same experience. I always copy RAW files to DNG when I import and have been able to use the new Denoise on them. However, perhaps this does not work as you suggest after doing an HDR process on them first. If so, it is because of the HDR processing rather than the fact that it is DNG. I will test on an HDR image and then let you know what I find out. Thanks!

      @@apeel2008 sorry chap, my mistake, I should have said AI Denoise, let me know how you get on 😃👍

      @@SebastianBevanPhotography OK. I just confirmed that you CAN use AI Denoise on DNG files, even if they have been processed. However, if a new DNG file is created as a result of an HDR Merge (or a Pano Merge), then you can no longer use the AI Denoise. So Sebastian was correct and I just learned something new! Actually, I learned 2 new things. 1) about the AI Denoise limitation and (2) 1st time seeing Sebastian's channel (now subscribed!)

    Hey Seb, did you manually change the exposure for each shot or did you use the cameras exposure bracketing option, if it has it, where it take 3 shots in succession at different exposure?

    • @SebastianBevanPhotography
      @SebastianBevanPhotography  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Morning Pete, for some reason my camera won’t take three separate exposures in one hit with that lens ( something I need to work out 🤷🏻) so I just shoot in manual and quickly changed the shutter speeds in between shots, hope that makes sense mate 😃👍

    • @peteg330
      @peteg330 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@SebastianBevanPhotography that makes perfect sense. I've got an EOS-R and it'll exposure bracket but I'm never happy with the results. Firstly, I'm gonna try your editing tip of selecting the sky to bring back the clouds, then bring back the shadows of the foreground separately, then if I'm still unhappy with the results I'll tripod and manually expose. Cheers for the tips. I've subscribed to your channel now.

    thats cheatting......... try something new in one exposure....
    know your settig first.. camera on trypod pointing to the sky start the exposure for hower long. you want than cover your lense so it blocks out all light
    then move or point the camera at the rock and water change the focus setting on the camera take cover away quikley so no blur in shot leave it for hower long then stop the exposure......
    challenge for you......
