    Totally have the same thought on wishing brands would all sell samples or minis to test before purchasing a full size bottle. I have wasted so much money on sunscreens that did not work for me.

      Samples would also be amazing for those of us with super sensitive skin. I hate spending $20 or more only to discover after a few days my face is reactive to it. We have to try so many products sometimes before we find the right one that works.

    I used to have pretty high 'white coat' blood pressure at the gyno's office, dreading that exam lol and finally suggested that they take my blood pressure at the end of the appointment instead of the beginning. After the exam was over my pressure was normal, and 6 months later at my next appointment they had actually made it policy!

    I have horrible rosacea. I use CeraVe Oil Cleansing to wash my face. It is super helpful. I started using it after dr. Dray recommended it. Avene products help too, in particular, Lipid replenishing lotion
    Whenever I have a flare of rosacea, I use Prosacea or azelaic acid from Paula's Choice.

    Thank you Dr Dray for sharing another informative and fun video ☺ I have sensitive skin with mild rosacea. I've been using the Neutrogena Ultra gentle creamy fragrance free cleanser and also the Hydro boost cleansing gel for over 5 years, I'm happy with the products 🥰 The creamy cleanser is gentle enough to use around the eyes to remove eye makeup, I sometimes use micellar water too. I use fragrance free laundry soap. I wear mineral based makeup that doesn't irritate my skin. The makeup brushes I use are the Ecotools. I walk every day, love being outside when it's nice 🚶‍♀ Take care everyone 🌹

    Hadalabo Cleansing oil is the very best! I love it as the first step in my evening cleanse. I first heard about it on your channel and I’m so glad you still mention it for people who might be new, who are looking for a nice way to remove makeup or sunscreen.

    Plain old petroleum jelly is also good for removing stubborn makeup. Of course wash it off with a warm wash cloth with your favorite foaming cleanser after. But like the Doc says, it’s great for the dry skin around your eyes. And even putting the smallest amount on your lashes moisturizes them.

    Dr. Dray~I purchased that DHC cleansing oil for my rosacea-prone skin, as well as the Isntree yam root cleansing milk! Got them from Stylevana as the cleansing oil came with a cute headband to keep hair out of my way when washing my face….no more makeup wipes for me!! I also bought those wrist guard things that stop water from running down my arms when washing my face at the sink! Can’t wait to try it all, thanks to you. Have a GREAT week😊❤

    I've been enjoying the Cerave oil cleanser and my sensitive skin is tolerating it well. I had been using the Elf cleansing balm as my first cleanse but recently switched back to Albolene since its thicker and more moisturizing and I enjoy using it in the cooler, drier months. Such great advice about getting outside for your mental health. I live in a hot humid place where I avoid going outside until it drops below 85 and the humidity is below 70% so I end up being inside for months and get something similar to S.A.D.. My mental health is definitely suffering. Plus my husband works swing and night shifts which messes up our sleep. Enjoyed your walk under the oaks and the background music. Thank you 💝

    I know for some recording or write down the results of the blood pressure monitor can be quite frustrating or even bothersome for some individuals but think of it the way Doctor Andrea suggests and that is that your effort of writing your body's personal information can be quite useful and helpful for the doctor to understand and create a more well based and rounded picture about your overall health and get into the proper treatment if you need any 😅 ok ❤.
    Oh the gardens always make my day watching the flowers, their majestic colour filling the place with pure magic 😊❤ and delightful scents 🌸🌼.
    It was really a wonderful Vlog 😊 miss Andrea indeed ❤ take care and have a great morning 🎉.

    I have followed your rosesca advice in the past and have had a lot of luck with azelaic acid. It took me awhile to build up tolerance for it. Also, mineral sunscreen was really irritating but Korean sunscreen has worked (canmake). Another thing i struggled with was red itchy arms. I dont know if this is roseaca related, but very slowly using Gold Bond age retinol has helped along with protecting arms from sun.

My dermatologist considered every other diagnosis he could dream up, and even diagnosed me with lupus at one point, because he was adamant that only fair skinned people get rosacea. For the last 4 months my rosacea has flared up so much that the pustules are everywhere and inflamed. Off to the dermatologist and now on basic QV face products (Australia) antibiotics and cream to kill the mites to put on at night! And I am 68 years of age and have had rosacea as long as I can remember but this time it has affected me mentally.

    • @RainbowBurgerx
      @RainbowBurgerx ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So sorry to hear this. I get rosacea with pustules as well. It only started around 1 and a half years ago. I noticed for myself that sprays and certain skin care products bring it out. Also once I had a flare from lots of crying, which I'm not sure if it was getting hot and emotional that caused the flare or my tears mixing in to whatever I had on my face lol.
      I worry that it will get worse in time . But at the moment if I get a flare I will discontinue whatever caused it and the flare will be gone within a week. I also keep some prescription azelaic acid around which I use often for acne but it also helps with rosacea.
      I hope the treatment you recieve helps you as I understand how it can bring you down from feeling your best and is embarrassing if you have to go out and face people. Hope it gets sorted soon

    When you have super sensitive reactive Rosacea fungal acne skin, and still react to products geared towards and meant for this skin type and skin conditions… so frustrating. I also have diabetes yype 2 and vitamin D deficiency as well as being lactose intolerant and allergic to the milk protein it self. And besides that I shouldn’t react, have any other intolerances or allergies besides severe grass pollen allergy. Pre 2019, I had no issues except sensitive skin and I would react to alcohol in skincare, as well as green tea. Suddenly after starting actives and chemical exfoliants, toners, serums, and sunscreen my skin totally had a huge fit, and bam it doesn’t tolerate anything. Tried every both recommended and hyped skincare from a ton of brands, let it be European, Korean and Japanese. Still the same result. Even squalane breaks me out. Ironically my bf who is also lactose intolerant, but neither had Rosacea or sensitivity skin, even he reacted badly to squalane for whatever reason. No point going to the doctor. They either don’t believe me or miss diagnose. I stopped wearing skincare because nothing works.

      Back away from all actives. It takes time to rebuild the skin barrier. I’m experiencing this too and yes it’s worse when you have sensitive skin.

    I thought I was going through the “purging” phase when I started using the ordinary 10% niacinamide , then I knew it was too irritating for me to use twice a day , so I cut it down to thrice a week and then now I use it everyday once ,and if I do more than that,I feel like it’s getting hot on my face

    Dr dray, you should try listening to sleep stories from calm TH-cam channel while you’re cooking. They help me fall asleep ! But they’re nice if you just need to mentally relax but prevent daydreaming too. You don’t need headphones because you’re supposed to be able to drift in and out of the story (like you would do when falling asleep). a big plus!

    I find Dr Drays advice very helpful for rosacea ( i get redness and burning with pustules on my cheeks, around my mouth and between the eyebrows). Since entering my late 20s the skin on my face has become very reactive.
    I cant use dry shampoo, hair spray or face oils anymore... which i am sad about cause i loved how my skin would glow (marula oil). I had a hard time finding a good spf but found the supergoop mineral spf is really good for me.

      Something simmilar happened to me going into my 20's. I used to think I just had acne, and some random allergic reactions which I would go to urgent care or emergency derm appointments for. Best thing I did for my skin was actually go see a derm when I wasn't having an active allergic reaction. She diagnosed my rosacea and based on my skin type told me that I should just cut down on everything and try benzoyl peroxide. Dr dray had a great video on short contact therapy and my skin has been so clear since. I love the Avene non tinted mineral sunscreen myself. The ISDIN is my favorite but too expensive lol.

      What else do you use for rosacea?

    • @RainbowBurgerx
      @RainbowBurgerx ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eggyboi419 I use prescription azelaic acid to help with acne and it also treats rosacea, so it is good to have on hand incase something flares it up.
      In general I alternate between nipfab daily exfoliating pads, it is only 2% glycolic acid with some lactic acid. It helps with acne and doesn't flare my skin.
      On the next night i use the ordinary absorbyl glucoside and aveeno face and restore rehydrating night cream. Then the azelaic acid on top. My skin gets on well with these. I use the abscorbyl glucoside every morning under spf.
      I also use cerave foaming cleanser whenever I wash my face. I tried the SA cleanser for acne control but it triggered the rosacea.

    • @eholtorama
      @eholtorama ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eggyboi419 I love the cetaphil redness night moisturizer, I use it am/pm all year. Any gentle cleanse oil/cream, I have dry skin and they don’t make a difference honestly. In the winter I also use a hydrating essence but I don’t have a favorite. I use Vaseline pretty liberally overall. Keeping it simple overall to get a good baseline and only changing a product every few months is key.

    I would be curious what numbers people keep track of, if any. I think it would show our individual idiosyncrasies. I personally write down how much sleep I get each night, what my weight is first thing in the morning, and how much protein I consume in a day. I don't count calories but I'm focused on eating more protein to maintain my muscle composition as I get older. Blood pressure is a good one to keep track of. I don't wear a Fitbit or anything like that so I don't know my heart rate or how many steps I take in a day.
