The game of football can be divided, split, and broken down into many elements. But as a team, there are certain passages of play you will always encounter.
In this video, we will explain the 10 categories of phases of play; In-possession, out of possession, transitions, and set-pieces.
Explained by Eric Laurie. Illustrated by Philippe Fenner.

C´mon guys. The three offensive phases are not decided by the balls position on the pitch, but the balls position compared to the defending teams pres.
Phase 1: When then ball is in front of the first defensive pressing line.
Phase 2: When the ball is in front of the second defensive pressing line.
Phase 3: When the ball is in front of the third defensive pressing line (or behind it)
But else good stuff you guys are making.

I always thought a block was related to a lack of defensive pressure, whereas you explain any defensive phase as a block, and a high block synonymous with a high press. Am I wrong? Is it still a high 'block' if you're implementing say an aggressive man-to-man press with a high line?
