  • In this episode of our BBQ travel vlog we are on a travel search for a Southern food tour of Mississippi BBQ in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. We will be doing a barbeque review of The Shed Barbeque & Blues Joint which is located in Ocean Springs, MS at 7501 MS-57 which is about 1 hour and 30 minutes and 97 miles away from the New Orleans French Quarter. You are invited to eat with me some Mississippi food as first we feast on BBQ Brisket, cole slaw and mac & cheese. Our restaurant review videos will be exploring some of the best Southern restaurants and this Southern food vlog will show you how we enjoy our Southern restaurant experiences. Our BBQ experience here could be the USA’s best BBQ candidate but we will let you judge that for yourself. I am constantly asking where is the best BBQ and who has the best BBQ and often I find the best BBQ is still found in interesting places so we will eat with me delicious BBQ so let’s get started with a BBQ eat with me on our BBQ travel vlog.

Brisket looked ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The Cole Slaw looked ok and the Mac & Cheese looked meh!
    Safe Journey!

Love the Shed. They had a couple years that the quality seemed to have suddenly gone down, maybe due to the pandemic and/or having a hard time finding help, but the last time I was there a few months ago, it was back to being good.

My kinfolk told me that most locals had stopped going it declined so much. The meat at least seems to have improved while the sides.... well hopefully they make progress...

Sad about the Mac n cheese but that brisket did look tender. Hopefully gonna be visiting the Mississippi coast soon so I'm watching these intently. Thanks for posting!

Ocean Springs has a LOT going on these days and their downtown is a nice walkable area. The White Pillars restaurant in Biloxi has one of my cousins as the head chef and that is a nice spot with an amazing HUGE bar.

If you gotta put sauce on brisket
    You’ve lost

I've had a whole lot of brisket from most of the famous and less famous places in Texas and many other states that say you don't need sauce but I still like some sauce myself. Now I do want to taste it without the sauce first as there is also a lot of awful brisket out in the BBQ world.

Brisket seemed to be very good, and I was surprised at the amount you got for the price. Sides looked ok but I like my mac and cheese to be cheesy too. Thanks for the review, NOLA Gent. 🙂

Brisket was definitely the winner and I'm still sad over missing my sweet potatoes...
      Thanks for watching 😀

Hey NOLA, have you ever tried Down South BBQ in foley AL !? It’s the best BBQ I have ever had, maybe you should try them out next time your near Golf shores. The address is 19891 County Rd. 10, Foley, AL 36535, United States
I’d love to hear your review of this place.

I haven't had a chance to get there yet but it is definitely on my list! They have some nice sounding items on their menu.

I think sides should be as good of quality as the meats otherwise don’t serve them.

Sadly it seems a LOT of BBQ joints don't put much effort into them... 😟

Way too many BBQ joints seem to pay little attention to their sides sadly.

Just a review would be great. Don't need half of video watching you eat.

I ate at the one that was in either Gulfport or Biloxi right on the beach years ago. It was nothing special. I googled to see exactly where it was and can’t find it, so I guess it ain’t dere no more.

I never knew they had a second location but then I never had a reason to go to any other location as this one was on my way to visit the kin folks.

That macaroni and cheese must have been really bad for you to have left it uneaten. The brisket looked good though!

The lack of actual cheese is not the way to my heart! The brisket was decent although I'm still sad they didn't have my sweet potatoes... Thanks for watching 👍😀

The Shed is good, as is Murky Waters. if you ever come up around Hattiesburg check out Leatha's

I have been to Leitha's MANY times and was going decades ago when she was serving out of her house. I'm really sad they haven't done thise amazing huge beef ribs in a long time... Everytime I have tried to go to the current location in Petal they never have any beef ready. I wish they would bring those beef ribs back!

@@NOLAGent1 yeah it's certainly not the same since she died

Yes most people say it is very different now. Their current building in a fast food building seems to reflect that change as doesn't have the same feel to it as the past locations.

They both are gross. Try Salt Pepper Oak in Diamondhead MS or Blue Oaks in NOLA. True BBQ

Gonzo's Smokehouse in Luling, LA blows them all out of the water! Only open for BBQ on Fridays. Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches on Thursdays with burgers and often tacos too but Friday lunch is the main event! Line up by 11am or pre-order and no wait.

This place still sucks, the food is not great, below average at best. Their meat has no flavor, it’s the sauce that has the flavor. The sauce is not that good.

This place as far as customer service is awful, if your looking for any southern hospitality you won't find it here, a lot a of better joints in the south than this one.

Nothing worse than eating in a rat and tree roach infested establishment in my opinion.
If you ever have the misfortune of eating at this dump, you will know what I mean...
