Draymond is a good interviewer, he gives the person he is interviewing something interesting that has a lot of meat on the bone for a question, and then let them speak without interrupting. It's weird that NBA coaches won't give NBA players the match-ups they want, especially when the match-ups they're doing aren't working.
In the 90/2000s....it was all about plays and defense. The coaches held dudes back.
Depends on the coach. Doc Rivers even let his guys draw up plays at the end of games
This is true and false. Coaches job is to prepare the team for winning a chip. They can't let players just go 1 on 1 every play just because of match ups. On the other hand a coach shouldn't be trying to run a specific play every possession. A good coach will have schemes match ups roles plays actions etc planned prior to game.

Don Nelson was the only guy who could've coached that warriors team to beat those mavericks. Cause he was a mad scientist. Nellie was wild enough to try anything off the wall. He threw small lineups at the Mavs. Nellie knew when to give marching orders, when something was a gimmick, and when to say "fuck it, I don't know why but this shit works. Go crazy." I feel like if he had gotten the prime death lineup warriors, Nellie would've had us run some head spinning zany shit

He'll trade away best players. Make some questionable to bad drafts, like he did with the Mavericks. And he's known to alienate rookie players.
I do think he will even hamstring a team to see if he can coach them to overachieve.
