And the fans today need to realize Dennis Rodman is the same size if not smaller and he held shaq to 0 pts in 96, that was after he literally phil Jackson "nah, IM GUARDING shaq now"

@LBJisBOULESPORTSANDPOLIT-tl3so how so ...Kobe been abusing klay... Hell he was tearing his ass up the night he tore his Achilles and Iggy what, not the day Iggy Kobe told 50 tonight lol
@LBJisBOULESPORTSANDPOLIT-tl3so yea that's what it round out to be but watching the games... You mean when he torching teams like the spurs, Houston Sacramento Phoenix.. now if anything I'll give you his finals numbers but playoffs is a different story...all numbers on a piece of paper don't tell the whole story... Kobe was like that
People are so quick to forget. Shaq was a monster. If David Robinson and Tim Duncan had trouble with Shaq imagine what he would do to Bogut and Draymond.
@IamMrImpeccable yeah but other than Green and Klay (both small guys) who else on those teams played "good" defense? I mean come on, let's not act like GS won anything on the defensive end....only thing they scheme is how to get Curry open by running him through multiple screens (a la miller and allen in their day).
@@IamMrImpeccable That Robinson and Duncan Spurs team, even on its last legs, is better defensively than any of Draymonds GSW teams. Even with their length those Spurs teams had trouble limiting Shaqs touches. I really cant imagine an undersized GSW team being able to pull it off.
@@ericsj805 This statement proves yall don’t understand how lethal the Warriors were. They were dominant on BOTH ends. Klay Dray Bogut Iggy they all were defensive players. That’s 1 line up w/ Steph. Klay was 2 way. Iggy won FMVP based on his defensive performance in 2016 against Lebron James.
Nah, Sheed was so gifted he coulda been the #1 PF all-time playing in HIS era. Only thing that held him from achieving that status was whatever the psychological issue that popped up in the NBA.
Rasheed Wallace is one of the most underrated players in NBA history. His knowledge of the game is top notch! His defense and his clutch 3 pointers were killer!
Bonzi speaking pure facts. BOTH MJ & Kobe were statistically HELD back by the triangle. It’s a team-focused concept, and makes the ball-hog allegations funny. Casuals expose themselves regularly.
People forget that 2001 Lakers team was stack you had guys like Fisher Fox Horry Shaw Grant all of them can shot have there own shot move without the ball shoot from three and were good defenders then you have a 22 year old Kobe and a prime Shaq
They were all 50+ win teams too. That team is actually underrated because of how they just steamrolled everyone but it wasn't like they were playing bad teams. Like even the fucking Spurs got swept!
Thank you Bonzi for having a high basketball IQ. When he said the triangle offense held Kobe back, that is spot on true and same for Michael. The triangle was designed to move the ball and get and open shot. Shows how special Kobe and MJ were.
Yeah, MJ and Kobe benefit from easy shots too. MJ bought into it more. Compare MJ and Kobe fg%, Kobe could have used some more easy shots. The only thing that held Kobe back was his shot selection.
k8be and shaq. what a time it was to see these 2 players together and i was glad and honored to see them play night in night out 4 a long time. good times. a really special time in basketball history. prime shaq with k8be . and phil jackson. wow that was one highlight after another
@@J-Hue people like you always look at numbers and it shows you didn't watch the games and didn't see the circumstances behind those numbers. Kobe wasn't like say a Lebron that worried about stats. He gave 110% and played to win. When he felt his teammates were lacking he went up to take the shots that were often difficult that they wouldn't take. But he made them when it counted. Kobe is the reason why people say, "KOBE!!!" when they go to shoot a shot. You really think he couldn't shoot and make shots when it mattered? And you based that off of a sheet that says 41%??? 😂 Y'all young folks is crazy out here. 😂 Go watch some Kobe highlight reels and tell me how Kobe could be stopped because of 41% shooting LOL. The "Kobe Stopper" thought the same way (*In Charlie Murphy's voice - "Wrong!!!". 😂😂😂
@B1Kobe0824 I watched the games and the stats support what I saw. Kobe was inefficient. His team wouldn't need shots when they count if he had simply shot decently when it didn't. Dave Chapelle is why people yell Kobe when they shoot. 41% isn't good. If fg% is irrelevant, then feel free to name another top 20 or 30 player who never reached 47%. Kobe shooting tons of shots is great for the defense.
--- personally, all greats in each era would do well in any era -- Steph in 1990s or Shaq in 2020s. Rules will elevate certain players: Sheed, AK47 would be better in 2020s. Derozan might be slightly better in the 90s. Shaq might be a liability in the closing minutes of a close game in the 2020s, but ALSO...a lot of the small ball centers would be in foul trouble and a team may not have enough players to be playing in the closing minutes.
@jlui21 I agree 100% with your overall point that some players would be better and some worse in other era's, but they'd all still likely be fairly dominant. I'd adjust your statement by saying that Shaq is the type of player that makes the NBA adjust to HIM. Nobody in this current NBA would slow Shaq at all. These stick figures like Wemby, etc would get tossed aside like a stick house in a hurricane. Teams would start drafting more thick bigs to defend Shaq. Otherwise, he'd average 38 on 70%. Steph is actually one current player I think would be worse. He's small and unathletic. Relies heavily on illegal moving screens and a handle that would be called for traveling in the 90's. He'd still be good, but not MVP caliber imo.
I don't think players of today realize how good and how physical these players from the 90's and early 2000's were. Draymond talking that crazy talk to shaq about warriors beating that lakers dynasty with shaq/kobe is the funniest thing i saw last year. Comedy gold and draymond actually believing what he was saying is priceless.
Draymond wouldnt even survive against zo mourning, antonio davis, anthony mason, dikembe, Juwan howard and horace grant, those are 5-7 inch tallerand 50-70 lbs heavier than dray
@theonetrueking587 Yep Sir Charles although wasn’t known as a good defender he’d give u a big elbow to the chest and knock the air out of u. Rebounded with ferocity that’s why I cringe when these guys on tv comparing Zion to him. Zion lazy as a mfer he rebounds like a damn guard. He better start getting those rebounds if he want that comparison. I like his offensive game he can knock guys around lil bit.
Im glad sheed fucking said it, i was trying to tell some young cats i work with. Theres a reason the position is called POWER forward. The PFs now are called 'stretch 4s' meaning they aint beating you up on the block. Theyre staying outside and launching 3s. The league was more physical back then.
@@moneymoney3235 thats one player (lebron) and the only power forward you mentioned was sheed and sheeds not a big physical power forward. Hes more of a stretch 4 if anything. I swear you lebron fans turn everything into that. No one said the pistons would beat up lebron and he couldnt handle it. Hes saying power forwards back then were enforcers: mason, oakley, barkley, karl malone. All big guys that were gonna touch you up.
Do you ever think there’s a reason why there’s not many dominant big guys anymore? Game is different. Big dominant players that can’t get around the floor could hurt teams. Joker and Embiid are amazing but you have to respect them shooting 3s and passing. No one can compare eras though. There’s a reason why there’s an emergence of 3 point shooting. In many ways it’s more efficient. I’m a believer in Shaq being underrated and is worthy of goat debates. Prime Shaq wasn’t sexy but 35 points, 15 rebounds on 65% fg percentage in the 3 finals they won….thats insane. Kobe was sexy but Shaq was the reason for the first 3 rings.
I was with you up until the Fisher part lol….. Fisher got his buckets off the gravity that Kobe and Shaq created ….. if the defense keyed in on Fish they could surely stop him , but it doesn’t work like that because he wasn’t like that.
@thialhoinj1971 them warriors faced less aggressive defenders plus soft screens and picks. Kobe was in a whole different era of defense especially cooking the kings, spurs, rockets etc etc. Warriors never faced major defenders except Westbrook when he was on the thunder.
Talk to em! Klay was getting cooked by vino Kobe playing on an Achillies that was about to pop!!!! 01-03 Kobe would terrorize that entire backcourt and have Iggy in foul trouble
Hated sheed as a laker fan back then, but man , he’s a funny cat. Love how they respect the Lake show and talking about how this young gen wouldn’t never understand
Sabonis used to take Shaq outside & shoots jumpers. He’s better than Dray. Rasheed took Shaq outside, he’s better offensively than Dray. Portland had Bonzi, Ruben, Pippen & Steve Smith guarding Kobe & it STILL wasn’t enough. Not to mention if you double Shaq with a PF you’re leaving Big Shot Bob open. Or D Fish or Glen Rice. Lakers in 5
Lakers counting twos and while the warriors counting threes. If it’s the KD warriors, I will take them in 6. Shaq and Kobe can get there 30 each, where are there other 40-60 points coming from? Are they running the triangle eating the entire shot clock? I would put shaq in a high pick and roll every time down the court with Curry or KD As the ball handler.

He is annoying but only a "fan" would say he is not good. He is an elite basketball player. Cant make to the NBA without being good. "Fans" dont have a clue.....
There is no defense to stop Shaq during that 4 year run. The man was allowed to beat everyone's ass during the game. He would break your bones if you got near him. Shaq was unstoppable.
Uhhh Shaq ain’t no plumber man. Put it this way, he was so DOMINANT, they discredit Kobe unfairly for the 3 rings he earned along side the big guy. That’s how much of a force Shaq was.
There aren't enough people who mention Rick Fox at small forward. He was a 20 ppg 2 time all star that came over and became an elite role player. He could get 20 points at any time. Those teams once they settled in and Shaq for in peak shape were truly great and such a small team like GSW would find it impossible over 7 games.
That's the thing nobody gets. Horry and Fox were stars that played as elite role players. EVERYTIME you slept on them they delivered. Then you had guys like Harper and Shaw coming off the bench who were bonafide elite role players. D Fish was also money as a young gun.

8:03'ish Thank you so f'ing much, Sheed. Kickouts and dunks. Big men and even driving guards for that matter, in today's game, CANNOT finish under the basket like they could in your day and earlier and your day was the last of it. Shaq on the offensive glass would be unstoppable. Let alone everything else he brings. Kobe takes Steph (doesn’t shut him down makes him less efficient). It boggles my mind how this era is so delusional about past eras and past players. Past eras weren’t this stupid talking about Wilt or Kareem.
@@jlui21Steph would be average in the 90"s.

Draymond Green is today's tough guy.....nuff said😂
Glen Rice was a great shooter to
folks forget how good Rice was before coming to the LAKERS. They were stacked

@@slicktom300 Glen Rice was actually a starter and was the 3rd scoring option.
That Warriors team never handled physicality or size well.
They were so good and then teams copied them instead of trying to do something differently.
@thialhoinj1971 It’s too bad the sport isn’t a three point shootout.
@thialhoinj1971 exactly, they’re a part of the game and not the entire game.
That’s the same point I just made. Good job.
Rasheed forever a real one and one my favorite players imagine if Kobe played with sheed 🤔
He said I gave him a hard foul aaaah 😂
I don’t even think Draymond’s kick in the balls defence is working on Shaq.
He would have broke his foot
8:03'ish Thank you so f'ing much, Sheed. Kickouts and dunks. Big men and even driving guards for that matter, in today's game, CANNOT finish under the basket like they could in your day and earlier and your day was the last of it. Big men pivot two times and on the third pivot their legs get all spread out and akimbo and they start looking for a 3-point shooter to kick it out to. Guards drive and do the same thing - AI was the last one that went to the hoop with the intent to finish. So a big man like Sheed or Duncan who could pivot and shoot around the basket would KILL in todays game, and finishers like AI could score all day. Sorry, had to get that rant off my chest - drives me crazy when I see big men pass up good shots down low - and also everyone's layup touch is so bad. Why? Dunks and 3's, dunks and 3's.
Shaq, Kobe, Glen Rice, Ron Harper, A.C. Green, Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, Tyronn Lue, Rick Fox and Brian Shaw versus Dray, Steph, Klay, Durant, Iggy, Quinn Cook, Nick Young, Patrick McCaw, Shaun Livingston, Bell and Zaza Pachulia
Of course not. Nick Van Exel would've cooked your warriors!
Wrong players buddy there would not be a quin cook more GP are ya wit me
@thialhoinj1971Wrong, Rice and Harper were not the Lakers 3rd and 4th best players, that was Horry and Fox who would of lit up the Warriors, Lakers in 5 easily 😂😆

Draymond may be the dumbest-smart guy in the world. WTF EVERY team tried to front Shaq w/a smaller player & their center behind. Most DOMINANT player in history 💪🏽
How Draymond made it this long in the league is unbelievable!
Funny enough, while he's one of the reasons golden state won, he's also the reason why they fell apart towards the latter end. Ran KD out of town, and shattered the team chemistry by punching jordan poole. Double edged sword as a player.
Because he's in this ERA
Backpack for 30
I been saying this for 10 years
I doubt hed make the All-Stars on the average team where you don`t get to shine playing with Steph.
You can tell Draymond doesn’t believe what he is saying about trying to defend Shaq 😂 he talking about if he gets thrown out the game & Shaq as well, which team would be better off 😂😂
That's called basketball IQ
Rasheed not lying about the 04 Pistons beating the Warriors.
The 2000 Blazers team that Shaq and Kobe beat with Sheed as the face of it was the most talented roster ever. GS wouldn't have stood a chance

GSW's 3-shooting would've had open looks every possession via high screens with Shaq not hustling to the line.
Shaq would foul half their team out or have 40 at half tho lol
No team hits 100 % of their threes lol. You forget that that Laker team had floor spacers too, Fox, Horry, Kobe, Fisher, Shaw and you have to double Shaq which opens up shots for them.
You’re right, but they can feed the big man and he’d go for 50 or more. GSW goes cold on the 3 line and it’s lights out. GSW has no solution for Shaq.
Thanks for this comment. People act as if Lakers gonna beat GSW 100 zip. GS system was no joke. You would have to let Shaq live and wait till the 4th and hack a Shaq his ass. Let’s not forget about that plus Kobe gonna be running around behind Steph getting tired cause D Fish gonna need help. Warriors definitely have a chance cause they play full court. Lakers are a half court set every time down.
Kobe gonna post up whom ever is guarding him R Harper gonna post up Curry everytime down as well
So Sheed and Bonzi saying the Warriors had no chance… BUT their Blazer team that took the Lakers to game 7 and blew a 15 point lead in the 4th! Warriors definitely have a better chance than the Blazers had. Don’t underestimate MENTAL TOUGHNESS
THANK YOU!!! Ever since Kobe passed they make him seem like an Immortal God that never missed and average 50 😂
Y’all sound dumb and I get the recency bias… but google and TH-cam is your friend…. It’s nothing and I mean nothing klay could do with prime Kobe… the guy that went 9 straight games with 40 or better the guy that out scored Dallas through 3 quarters the guy that scored 81 the guy that hit 12 threes in a game in 03 and took the tough matchup on the other end… Stop
In 1999-00 sure. The 2000-01 team SWEPT them as well as the WEST!!!
Do you even know how deep that Blazers team was? We're talking about a roster of Rasheed Wallace, Scottie Pippen, Steve Smith, Detlef Schrempf, Brian Grant, Arvydas Sabonis, Shawn Kemp, Rod Strickland, Dale Davis, Damon Stoudamire, Bonzi Wells, Greg Anthony and Stacey Augmon. That's at least one of the top 3 deepest rosters in NBA history and they couldn't take down Shaq and Kobe. Those little cup cake Warriors would get pimp slapped against that team.

Kobe and Ron Harper guarding Steph and klay

KD is not trying to get into the paint and he won't with Shaq there. KD is shooting nothing but jumpers basically. The Lakers had the personnel to keep KD on the perimeter.
@@j-us-t_be-in-g Any of those Lakers teams win in six or less, the Warriors would’ve been so physically depleted they would’ve ran out of gas.

Shaq on the offensive glass would be unstoppable. Let alone everything else he brings. Kobe takes Steph (doesn’t shut him down makes him less efficient). Other than KD the warriors really have no other advantage
And here’s why the rules don’t matter. Old school rules there’s a lot more handchecking. New rules…. Who’s keeping young Kobe out the paint….? Shaq gets doubled, horry in the corner…. Kobe has his way in the midrange and driving without hand checking…. We say “oh MJ would average 40 with these rules” SO WOULD KOBE 😂😂
Kobe and Shaq didn't have hand checking for most of their career
Jordan and Shaq would foul out before scoring 40. Stop ✋️.
PS, Steph cooking 🍳 Fisher and spreading the floor. Shaq protecting the paint 🎨 is a liability. And him not making free-throws really hurts their chances. Kobe is their only on ball defender. Everyone else getting cooked 🍳.
