Gave his Li Ning 1st version Fission a try. Right out the box it was comfortable filled with padding around ankles tongue... just comfortable - grippy.
I've been using Li Ning for a few years now, and for those unsure or unfamiliar, they are imho the best bball shoes available. And the value skyrockets if you can get them on sale. Recently got a Way of Wade All City 11 v2 for $60 and they are literally one of my all time favorite shoes already. Plus, the rubber outsole is incredibly durable - I play in REALLY rough concrete (and hot as well). But the durability doesn't have any negative impact on the grip.
